[Drama 2020] Tell Me What You Saw, 본대로 말하라

Tell Me What You Saw, Ji Seo-yeon and Sooyoung were in the top 10 hourly hot search topics trending yesterday (the 2 ladies appeared in a JTBC variety show 'Knowing Bros' last night).

Currently, TMWYS is still no.1 on the list.

Knetz comments on episode 1

1.    The emergence of fresh characters such as the reclusive genius profiler, the tight development of the storyline, the unique cinematic visual beauty of OCN, and the acting synergies of the main and supporting actors all increased the level of immersion from the first episode. (+88 -5)

2.    Believe in Jang Hyuk. (+51 -5)

3.    The character set-up is interesting, a blind Jang Hyuk relying on Sooyoung’s eyes to solve the cases. (+47 -5)

4.    OCN thrillers are great to watch at night (+27 -2)

5.    The unique character of profiler Jang Hyuk, let’s see today how he became blind. (+27 -3)

6.    It was worth seeing because of ‘Voice’ crew. As expected, the 2nd episode will start to reveal  Jang Hyuk's secret, it seems to be more fun. (+18 -3)

7.    It's interesting. I have to watch the 2nd episode. Jang Hyuk is Dae-gil, I think it's fun (+14 -0)
8.    A trusty OCN drama (+13 -0)

9.    OCN makes thrillers with unique settings. Jang Hyuk is blind. How is he going to solve the cases with Sooyoung and Jin Seo Yeon? (+14 -3)

10.    I feel bad to see fans of other same time-slot dramas making malicious comments. But I heard that it was all praise during yesterday's live broadcast, hehe.. (+13 -2)

So Oh Hyun-Jae is really blind?

I dropped this midway through ep.01, as it was hard for me to stand Soo Young. The actress seem to enjoy portraying these bumbling kind of characters.

How she indirectly caused the death of her own mom just doesn't go well with me. Then they try to make her seem redeemable by bein' a police woman (not a good one at that) She tampered with the evidence for goodness sakes.

And sure she has photographic memory so it's ok LoL. Noticed OCN only puts out crime thriller type of shows. Previously were Watcher & Player. I might reconsider picking this up again ( doubt it though) but will see I guess..

More Knetz comments on ep 1:

1.    This was fun.. (+77 -8)

2.    I didn't have any expectations watching this, but it really meets OCN’s name of premiering with a scream, very exciting (+43 -3)

3.    I am really looking forward to it. A trustworthy OCN original drama. (+33 -4)

4.    Although it was a short appearance, Jang Hyuk's presence was really wow (+23 -1)

5.    The OCN drama that I had been waiting for finally begins. (+15 -0)

6.    Curious about tomorrow’s story, really looking forward to it. Jang Hyuk is real handsome, he is so cool ♡♡♡ (+8 -0)

7.    Currently the quality of OCN is the best. The standard of tvN is too inconsistent. There are a lot of childish dramas. (+9 -2)

8.    Without commenting on Sooyoung’s acting, why do you keep on repeating the old style of letting the female lead make mistakes and then solving the problems at the end? I need to continue watching to know that, but please do not let the female lead get into trouble and finally solve the problem with her superb memory. I hope you don't make a boring character like that. (+8 -2)

9.    This is indeed a five senses drama, please add more punch to it. (+4 -0)

10.    Both the female and male leads acted well (+9 -7)

Well she is supposed to be an overzealous newbie cop so I am fine with it. And yes, OCN specialises in crime genre dramas.

She didnt even go to police  school she just barely pass the police  exam to be police only for her memory and physical point, she has no learning or experience in crime scene  and to be honest if she didnt  fall down she did a great job every  evidence beside the body was going to be destroyed by the rain anyway  at least she had pictures of the crime scene

I like the rookie patrol officer, SY, she seems to have a relatable, real life story and character and is smart and independent. Plus, her dinner scene with her dad was nice (I hope he isn't bumped off by candy killer), it's not her fault her mother crossed the road without looking (but of course she must be guilty, hence her 'healing /forgiving herself' relationship with the profiler later in series), and her small-town life is nice and warm (albeit the constant rain.) I don't know why her acting or job-handling gets trolled but she was trying to do her job, by preserving the crime scene when she took photos which could've been altered by rain, and I think that was useful. In K-drama, they have to include some over-the-top, blame-game, shout-express aimed against the woman (FL usually), where everyone is screaming and insulting the woman, and the first episode was no exception to this rule. I hope it is not done / shown moving forward.

OCN made 'Missing M: Noir' which was a pretty cool series ('The Lies Within' had a dumb, boring, slow, half-baked story, IMO), and my hope for this drama is that it follows M:Noir's pattern of one crime/killer story handled for 2 episodes rather than stretching it over entire 16 episodes just in search of the real candy killer (who should be just the series arc, appearing in Ep.14).

And Jang Hyuk's character was extremely unbelievable and unprofessional as a forensic profiler at least in that TV interview: acting like some self-promoting, arrogant god who is so self-absorbed to know he is trying to 'catch' a killer and should just talk about facts, not gloat about his own theories about the killer while pretending to mouth lines like the killer! I thought he came across as vain and inept, rather than 'world-class 99% solved cases' guy.

He must be really rich to afford an entire floor of a spooky building, with all the medical bills, for 5 years without job, and anonymously! (was he a criminal profiler on private contract? Or did the fiancee' leave him all her money?)

The leash guy (fake candy killer) acted his role out of the park - he was creepy, sad and obviously in love with the missing dog (looks like he and Jang Hyuk went to the same stylist to get their hair done!)

Anyways, nice start. Let's see where it goes from here.

My husband and I are watching this series. We both thought that Sooyoung's character was well-written/described in very detailed way, so it's a bit weird that HyunJae's character is like that. I think Sooyoung isn't bubbly, she is somewhat introvert and isn't good with socializing with people. We have our theories on these but we want to stay tune for tonight's episode first.

So he blind I an really curious now

How much damage he has from the accident

No they really fearless  making the hero has so much damage  I liked it since in Korea drama they dont go that far they trying to keep the hero as good as they can

Like it Ocn if he hasn't that much damage from that big accident  it will not be realistic

So he in wheelchair, blind, have burn  body since he keeping hidden his hands with gloves and what why he keeping his leg crossed  !!!

So waiting for more episodes he show that he still has feeling for other not just himself in today episode, really so much loving this drama

The criminal  from her mother car accident wasn't catch I guess the police officer  lie when he say the car license was wrong I think the driver was someone important and they cover it for him and I wouldn't be surprised if the killer of the girls linked to that story too it suspect that the car has a kid in it so maybe they all linked

Looking at the translation of this blog, it seems that Lee Si-won fans are disappointed at her short appearance in the episode, thinking that that would be the extent of her appearance in the show. I hope they are wrong. I think there is no way they would have cast this actress without giving her more scenes. I'm thinking we will be seeing our eccentric profiler falling in love...

I have a theory about jin seo-yeon , so Jang hyuk lost his fiancee , and there's a pic of jang hyuk with his finance and jin seo yeun together . When JH asked JSY why is she going after the serial killer she said she had a reason so I think that she was in love with his fiancee too !!

I loved the 1st ep , everybody did a great job . the story is very exciting too . I found Cha sooyoung very likable , can't wait to see more of her .

Omg lol! This thought actually crossed my mind! But I’m not sure a kdrama will go there (maybe someday) Still, good material for fanfics.
