This year is surely gonna be a busy year for Yoo Ah In. Following his filming schedule for the upcoming movie VOICE OF SILENCE, which cranked in around this month, Yoo Ah In has already prepared for his second movie production of 2019 on the line.

On July 11, Yoo Ah In and Park Shin Hye have confirmed to star for the first time together in a new film “#ALONE” (working title).

#ALONE is a disaster movie that tells a story about a city infected by a mysterious virus, which causes the city to spiral out of control, leaving survivors completely isolated there.

Yoo Ah In will take on the role of a gamer Joon Woo, who is closed off from society due to his obsession with gaming, a survivor who manages to overcome all kinds of unexpected situation with a strong will. Park Shin Hye will be playing a mature Yoo Bin, who develops her own survival techniques.

#ALONE is based on the original script of Hollywood screenwriter Matt Naylor, who worked on American documentary series “Small Business Revolution: Main Street”.

#ALONE will be produced by the same film company that made DEFAULT, and helmed by the new director Jo Il Hyung from American Film Institute. #ALONE is expected to kick off on the second half of 2019, and release in 2020.

An unexpected, but exciting pair have come on board as the leads of an upcoming new film, titled '#ALONE'!

 

According to production company Perspective Pictures on July 11, actor Yoo Ah In and actress Park Shin Hye will be working together for the new film '#ALONE', directed by Jo Il Hyung. The film tells the story of a closed-off, infested city, full of people infected by a strange disease. Yoo Ah In will play the role of a youth who is closed off from society due to his obsession with gaming - Jun Woo - a survivor who manages to overcome all kinds of unexpected situations with a strong will. Opposite him, Park Shin Hye takes on the role of Yoo Bin, a bright and smart young woman who builds up her own, unique survival skills through caution and experience. 

 

'#ALONE' is based off of an original scenario by Hollywood wrier Matt Taylor. Filming is slated to kick off some time later this year. Does the storyline sound interesting so far?

On July 11, it was announced that the two actors will be starring in the film “#ALONE” (working title).

Infection Thriller Based on Hollywood Script

 

 

YOO Ah-in and PARK Shin-Hye are set to appear on screen together for the first time in the upcoming infection thriller #Alone (working title). The film, which focuses on a city that descends into chaos during the sudden spread of an unidentified virus, will mark the directing debut of CHO Il-hyeong.

 

Most recently seen in the hit financial thriller Default (2018), YOO is known for major commercial hits such as RYOO Seung-wan’s Veteran (2015) as well as arthouse darlings such as LEE Chang-dong’s BURNING (2018), which screened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival last year.

 

PARK’s major screen roles include the hit melodrama Miracle in Cell No.7 (2013), the family comedy MY ANNOYING BROTHER (2016) and the court thriller Heart Blackened (2017).

 

Director CHO previously worked as an assistant director for the US segments of Korean films such as The Suspect (2013) and C’est Si Bon (2015). He was also the US co-producer on No Tears for the Dead (2014).

 

Unusually for a Korean production, #Alone is based on a script by Hollywood scribe Matt NAYLOR, who previously directed the documentary series Small Business Revolution: Main Street. CHO adapted the screenplay for the Korean market.

 

#Alone is expected to begin filming later this year. ZIP CINEMA, know for Cold Eyes (2013) and Master (2016), will co-produce the film with American outfit Maybach Film Productions, which previously made acclaimed indie films such as Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Park Shin Hye has been chosen to star with actor Yoo Ah In for a film titled “#ALONE.” the actors are one of the best in the South Korean movie industry today, so the anticipation and expectation from the upcoming movie are quite high.

 

Being one of the most awarded actors, Shin Hye and Ah In’s new film is also expected to be a big hit. The latter’s most recent hit movies include “Veteran” and “The Throne” while the actress did “Cyrano Agency” and “Heart Blackened.” Now, they will try out a movie featuring the thriller

 

About “#ALONE”

 

Park Shin Hye and Yoo Ah In’s film will tell the story of an almost abandoned city. The people have been getting sick due to a mysterious infection that has been affecting everyone. Eventually, the whole city was in a chaotic state due to panic and struggled to survive.

 

According to Soompi, “#ALONE” is based on the original work of Matt Naylor, a Hollywood screenwriter. He is known for the TV documentary “Small Businesses Revolution: Main Street” that aired from 2016-17 and the short film “What It’s Like.” Besides Shin Hye’s upcoming film, the American screenwriter is also working on another film called “Devour.”

 

It was learned that the actress would be working with PD Jo Il Hyung, who has been tasked to direct the film. This will be his first feature film after actively working in the U.S. film institute.

 

Film’s storyline

Park Shin Hye and Yoo Ah In will be one of the town’s people who will survive in “#ALONE.” The city will be isolated after the unknown infection had quickly spread and infected the residents. The actor will play Joon Woo, a gamer and survivor, but he will be disconnected from the world and would not be in contact with another person.

 

The “Heirs” actress will play Yoo Bin, also a survivor and living alone. To be able to cope with the dangerous surroundings and situation, she developed her own survival strategies. Filming for the movie will start soon, but the exact date was not specified.

Meanwhile, Park Shin Hye completed her “Memories of the Alhambra” with Hyun Bin early this year. The drama was a big hit, and her new film “Call” will be arriving in a few months, probably before she starts filming her movie with Yoo Ah In.
