I was so bored (waiting for thursday that still far away) to the point I learn how to make cartoon from JJS's picture in Photoshop. And this is my very first result. Haha. Jo Jung Suk surely makes me learning new skills

Omg never expected this has more probability

She (Princess) ate the poisoned apple (anaphylaxis) yeah?   She was waiting for her Prince?  He (IJ) saved her.  And MinHa did say all the professors came visiting whilst she was sleeping (beauty) so I assume that would include IJ.  He did ask her to “pick me” .  And in that room when the GS professors showed her all the cases and Andrea happened to walk into the room to ask IJ about lunch?  And IJ said, “this is the most important day of my life.”  Who did she pick?

edit: Dr. Maggot and Jeongwon’s love line is a no brainer. It’s been doomed from the very start. In their scenes, Jeongwon always looks like he’s annoyed and can’t be bothered. Episode 7 is the start of the end for them. Jeongwon’s body language when he went out of the room to see her waiting for him says it all. When he saw her, he automatically assumed it’s business and turned his back on her while checking his phone. When Jang demanded him to buy her a meal, he was hesitant and quick to say they’ll have a colleague get-together instead. He was setting boundaries as he has been doing from the start.

Especially for a first year intern, it may not be a good idea... to target a super conservative consultant (professor) as her object of romance at work.  Chances are... it is a turnoff chased this way... especially when she has not shown any impressive trait to warrant any romantic interest.....unless she is super provocative and the guy is a DOM.

More so...a seasoned surgeon will be harder to impress, by just the mere optics of working extra hard. Perhaps if she can show more wit, grit and ability in the delivery of care to a patient in the OR.

Her interest first and foremost... should be to learn...or it will come off as...she is in this profession for all the wrong reasons.  Unfortunately just being super sweet in this line work...does not count.

...Just saying.

Awwwww this is soooo cute. I keep saying that I don't want to invest in any one ship, but seeing him like this....sigh. I think I would be too depressed if Ik Jun gets Jung pal-ed. :tears:

She's in her 3rd year. You don't choose who you have a crush on. It just happens . Because someone has a crush on a senior / professor doesn't mean that person is there for the wrong reasons. 9+ years of study, night duties , no weekend, no time to rest and someone is there for the wrong reasons. In the medical field, it happens a lot. Professors are in a relationship/married with residents. Interns dating interns or medical students.

Poor Gyeo wool, she's putting down left and right because she dared to have a crush on Jeong-won like she's a good for nothing.

Where did you see that she lacks thoses qualities in the OR?  until now, we didn't see her prowess there and when she was there with Ik jun, he acknowledged her good work or Ik Jun is biaised too. All her seniors and even Dr. Bong in ER, acknowledged that she is hardworking. Do you think the GS seniors want to work with her because she is the only resident. If she sucked and was lazy, no one would want her. Having an assistant like this makes the surgery more difficult. They'll work with her when needed that's all, but not making her choose them.

She didn't show an impressive trait for her to be worthy of being loved. Really ?? What are those impressive traits that a woman must show/have to be considered worthy of love. Or did I miss the episode where Jeong-won mentioned his ideal type?

At this point, I'm looking forward for Jeong-won to reject her so Gyeo wool can finally get a break. Hopefully, they'll focus on her character development and growth, not in line with her crush.

It's good to be critics but let's be objective.

In Ep.7, Jeong-won was on the phone with Dr Jang and they had this convo about the liver transplant.I think this could be apply to their respectives interest too. Her crush and his priesthood.

@Arajo81 there is minimal hospital politics here. One guy was the top student of his medical class. Another guy was one of the top scorers in the nation. They are all Professors. I know the character descriptions say they are Assoc Prof. They are 40 years old after all. They finish or should have finished their Board exam around 35 years old or under.

The Obgyn guy is nice. But most all ObGyn are nice. None of them promise their patients will live they said they will do their best.

The GS is less arrogant than most GS I know but heck at 40 they should be close to their peak. The CS guy is arrogant and a lot of CS surgeons are arrogant. Neurosurgeons have to be rock steady for their techniques as it's the brain. And they don't flap about in real life if you're a neurosurgeon. It's not a specialty for the faint hearted. And by the way if they are Prof the long surgery times are not uncommon. It is progressive training to handle such long surgeries.

And most professors try to show empathy towards their patients. Whether they are tyrants to their team is a different matter. I am not trying to praise the writer.

But other than the hospital politics, not showing them doing research for journal publications, and they are single so yeah overtime is common. So what is it that bothers you?

Jeong Won the priest is empathetic. The Obgyn is empathetic. Jeong Wan doesn't chat as much and he is quite abrupt as per CS. Ik Jun is about the only unrealistic one being so nice. But then we have real doctors being so nice in real life. So * shrugs * the actual work writing doesn't bother me. And oh yeah- the surgeries are complicated but only some- but if the professors can't handle it who can? Notice the shorter simpler surgeries are done by residents under supervision. The surgeries names sound fancy but most of them are bread and butter surgeries. Jeong Won doing the liver transplant was the only one which jarred me as I am used to having surgeons specialising in it but then liver transplant is still less stressful from the brain surgeries.

I've done my Kdrama rounds tonight see you all Fri. I won't reply later.

Sorry if I poorly worded my comment but i think you misunderstood - I don’t remember saying anything about being bothered by hospital politics or overtime or research for journals. Also FYI - in your second last paragraph you said Jeong Won twice but I think you meant Jun Wan (the heart surgeon).

The title of this show in Korean is ‘the life of wise doctors’ so obviously we are talking about the cream of the crop. I love seeing people at the top of their fields, I just can’t relate to them because they are so excellent and they never seem to have any professional failings or issues - almost superhuman medical professionals. I have dr friends and family and no one is that noble/altruistic or ‘on their game’ with amazing stamina despite years of experience. Maybe I need to meet more doctors hehe

While I love these main characters, I can relate more to the residents who make mistakes/learn.

Anyway it was my one small gripe about a show I absolutely love and I meant no disrespect to the community. I won’t be commenting again!

@Arajo81I understand what you meant. The fab5 are too perfect in their field. It's kinda unrealistic. I don't know about Korean professors but my professors aren't that empathic, kind and devoted. Their skills are excellent though. Most of them have god complex. Some are annoying. If I had a professor like one of them, internship will be so pleasant.

JJS is funny :joy: I only watch him in JI and exit. Dunno much about him. Not really follow any actor/actress as I usually more drawn towards the story. I'm not really care if no handsome oppa or pretty eonnie as long the story is interesting, which is subjective too :grimace:

Handsome or pretty is a bonus

Wow i didn’t notice this. I really think it’s foreshadowing.

I love Ik Jun and Song Hwa as a pair but i can’t seem to see them tying the knot. I actually prefer the Lacking Fives to have their own lovelines with other people outside the group.

Speaking of foreshadows, are the red items hinting us something here??:phew:AAB5-CFE6-EDBC-4-B41-BDAF-BE33042-EFAE2.

@Arajo81 sorry I think you misunderstood my comment. The hospital politics part is not for your post. It is the comment for your post about the doctors. You mentioned they were unrealistic. I am addressing the unrealistic part of the post. That it is unrealistic that hospital politics are not mentioned. As 40 year olds Prof are either involved in moving up the hierarchy or not. Or academically moving up.

Please post. I don't have much time posting here as I have increased my drama watching time not soompi posting time.

I meant to say when you're the top of your team then yes you can afford to be altruistic, confident and not fight to be recognized. The personalities of the characters do actually suit their specialities.

I don't think I made a name error. Jeong Won is a paediatric consultant and most paed consultants are nice. However liver transplant surgeons are a sub specialty of their own. So Jeong Won doing both medical paed and surgical paed plus liver transplant was like " wow, unbelievable." Unless he is a surgeon all along.

Jeong Wan being a Cardiothoracic surgeon and being brusque and more short is also my observation. His manner in explaining and empathy is way less than Jeong Won and the OB guy.

Above politics... some are. The journal part is true though you cannot be promoted unless you are active in publishing journal articles. That's why I mentioned it. Most dept heads have a lot of published works under them.

You might want to ask your friends about the operating times. Unfortunately neurosurgeon and GS do have extremely long surgical times. To be honest long Cardiothoracic surgery times are paediatric congenital surgeries.  The writer chose long taxing specialities when she chose CS, neurosurgery and paed surgeries for her characters. There are less demanding specialities like ENT or Eye etc which she did not use.

So post away, I don't come by often. And I have a busy work week coming up anyway. You spend your 20s studying hard to be a doctor. Then the next several years for training.  Then you get your Board certification in your 30s. Then spend time refining and your skills. Then publishing then academic as well as clinical roles. Then start thinking about aiming for dept head from maybe late 30s onward. The 40 part? They are reaching their peak. Young enough to have stamina but not too young to be dept chairs or take on roles.

So actually the age range the writer chose is correct. Besides no need to be petty if you're good. It's when you're just average that you have to claw and fight.

Don't know how my posts sounds to you but I am not trying to be antagonistic. Your post was fine. I was just answering with my observations. There are no hard feelings on my part apologies if you though I was being hostile answering.  Honestly though even if you play hospital politics or have hidden motives one has to hide if you're average. Even among doctors there are good doctors and average doctors. Being arrogant and rubbing everyone the wrong way. You won't go far upwards like that unless you have a Line- Korean drama way.  It is also true in my country and it's not South Korea.

Hi guys!! 84 pages in and I finally gave up and created a account! Been lurking here since the start! It has been an enjoyable time so far reading all the different theories out there and I can't wait to see what the director-writer have for us for the last 5 episodes!! Anyway I have been watching quite a number of HP related videos made by korean doctors and I think their insights to the medical industry helped me understand HP setting better so I will be sharing the different links here! The videos have ENG SUBS!

A doctors couple per episode review of the drama! (They are reviewing every episodes and I have linked episode 1&2 video here!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpdpCfu0ecg

will Gyeo Wool win against the Lord? That's the biggest mystery!! Also can I just say how gutsy Gyeo Wool is when it comes to love? Kinda admire her for that!

Likewise I love her too, Isn't she a "baddass" specially the closeness she has with Ikjun (BFF of Jwon) without hestitant fishing information about her Crush Thru Ikjun and loving him for that even taking pic ok Jwon just to win the trust of Dr. Jang  Like now even more asking Jwon to go out on a date.

@LovelyLady im more than agree with you  "Love knows no reason  no boundaries no barriers"

@sonata "Jwon & Gyeol lovelines no brainers" i disagree.  Even Priest do fall in love and broke their vows.

is it possible Jwon thought that Ikjun like Gyeol that why he is showing no interest with her. How many times did Jwon cried with his big brother upon failed operations and How many times did he said that next year he will stop already also how many times did he send his request? Isn't the sign already that he is meant not to be a Priest? I really do think there is a significance with his text win Gyeol when she was sick.

Is that Gyeol carrying storage box? she seems a bit nervous is it because that first time to be in an operating room with Jwon? Is this before or after the ask date of Gyeol? this is making me crazy:rolleyes:
