Yesss!!!! New beginning indeed for him. But I'm still worried, there is a part in the preview where the hospital director asks him why he is leaving? Arghhh. I really hope they resolve his preisthood arc in this season itself. If they drag it until the next season, it would really feel disconnected to me. 

 

Also new beginning for Songhwa means, it doesn't matter who her past crush was. LOL. (I really do believe it was IKjun). But both Captain Ahn and Ikjun has an equal chance now. Captain Ahn is a good guy, but I'm really rooting for Ikjun. Their past history aside, Ikjun has done enough for songhwa in the present for her to fall in love with him all over again. I have high hope that today's episode will further develop IJ-SHwa's relationship. I know Cap Ahn is such a good guy..but my heart lies with IkJun, what can I do. Although I'm sure I will see JJS' great acting being heartbroken, I prefer not to  And how good is he wearing that red jumper! 

I also hope JWan-IkSun will figure something out to overcome their possible long distance relationship instead of breaking up. 

My guess is SHyeong's 'new beginnings' won't be about his relationship with Min Ha. Probably something to do with his parents?

Oh yess...i think that will be the scene i'm waiting on the most tonight (and plus the karaoke one..why would SHwa look so apprehensive in the preview?). I hope it turns out to be 'something' and not just 'nothing'. Do you think he's drunk in that scene?? Well then it could go either way...staying silent or going all out And so the scene where he put his head on SHwa's shoulder might be after the get-together then?

Anyone might helping us translate? This interview is the longest among the three interviews.

Hope someone could translate for us to know the content 

 

JMD's interview is quite long and for now I'll try to translate the parts of the interview that talk about Hospital Playlist (since I think this what most is interested about  )

In the complete interview, she also talk about her previous works, why she just joined to silver screen, etc. But most of the questions talk about the drama. 

Note: I am not fluent, so I might have made some mistakes. 

 

Q The casting story for <Wise Doctor's Life> was very interesting
A Yes. I had goosebumps when I heard about that. When I first auditioned, I thought that the director didn't see me as a bad, just an alright person. After the 1st auditioned, there's no contact for about one month. I thought that I failed passing the audition. Then I got a call for second audition and then the PD explained it to me (why I was contacted late). After the 2nd audition, Shin Won Ho PD said, "Actually for us to give you the character Chae Song Hwa is quite a big risk so we have lots of concerns. Even after seeing today's audition, we are still feeling worried. We really want to work with you but you are considered as a newcomer so we are concern whether it's okay or not." I am a quite well-known actress on the theater stage, but for drama it is true that I am still a rookie. That's why he also say that the production staffs feel sorry if they give me a minor role, but giving the role for Chae Song Hwa is a big risk for them. And I took part for the 3rd auditioned. Back then, Jung Seok Oppa (Jo Jung Seok, Lee Ik Joon's character) has been casted first. Jung Seok Oppa said to the director, "There is an actress that has no personal relationship with me at all but I want to recommend her." The PD when he heard Jung Seok Oppa said it, he thought, "Is she perhaps Jeon Mi Do?" and Jung Seok Oppa told him, " The actress name is Jeon Mi Do." Jung Seok Oppa didn't know that I had auditioned.

 

Q Until then you didn't know Jo Jung Seok at all?
A No at all. I never knew him personally, when I was quite young I watched his performance once. He too said he only watched one of my perfomance.

 

Q But you did work in the same field with Jo Jung Seok
A The time when I started to work in theater stage overlaps with the time Actor Jo Jung Seok moved to the silver screen. It was difficult to meet with each other when we start working in different fields.

 

Q I heard Yoo Yeon Seok also recommended you
A I have met with him at the awards ceremony, he said he had come to see one of my performances. We did meet face to face and on the day of my 2nd audition, I met with Yoon Seok who just came out after a meeting with the production team (his casting was already confirmed). Somehow, he learned that I had an audition. Later, when Yeon Seok was talking with the PD he said, "I met with Mi Do Noona who came for an audition, how is the result?". The PD asked him, " How did you know her?" He then answered, "I have watched her performance and it was so good. I think if we work together, it'll be great. From the PD's point of view,'Wait a moment? When both of two actors making recommendations like this, I guess if I work with a rookie, the actors won't hate it then.'

 

Q At <Wise Doctor's Life> of course the performance of the leading roles and the supporting roles are great, but the most surprising thing is the performances for the minor role. I was wondering how great their acting were
A As far as I know, the director is the one who worked really hard. Because our drama tells the deep story about the patients and the guardians. They just appear for a short time but they have to deliver it well. The director really looks at every actors and choose them after the audition process.

 

Q I guess he choose many theater actors/actresses because there are many actors and actress in the theater world
A Yes. There is a famous senior actress who played the role of a mother who waits for her son's liver transplantation surgery. She has to play as the mother and at the same time as a daughter of a patient who is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her name is Hwang Young Hee. And there is another patient, my classmate who had a breast cancer surgery. Kim Guk Hee and I have played in the same performance before.

 

Q I was very impressed by the patient who received a liver donor from her cheating husband. She cried while looking at the distant mountains, but it made me angry
A She is the senior actress Lee Ji Hyun. There are so many great actors/actresses in the theater industry.

 

Q Now that the last episode is coming near, please tell me. Ik Joon and Song Hwa, when they were still in the university did they ever date or not?
A I really don't know about that. I too curious what had happened in the past.

 

Q Don't you think they seems likely have dated in the past?
A But in the drama, Dr Bong (Bong Kwang Hyun, played by actor Choi Young Joon) explained their life during university days, there was a scene where he said both of them have different campus couple (they have dated with different people).

 

Q There was a scene where Ik Joon wanted to give a present for Song Hwa but after he know that Seok Hyung likes her too, he stopped and didn't give it to her. I think Ik Joon has feelings for her.
A Then did he give up back then? Because after that they still friends with each other. I don't think so? I really don't know

 

Q I am going to bury my curiosity until the next season. By the way, I watched the band performance, did you really play the bass?
A Yes. I learned it because of this drama. The filming started in the mid October last year, almost the end of autumn, but the practice for musical instruments has already started in the summer. Seok Hyung Oppa (Yang Seok Hyung, played by Kim Dae Myung) who was cast earlier has been practicing since spring. He went to the piano academy alone and practiced there. All of us went to different musical instruments teacher and practice since summer until now.

 

Q So the director has thought it as a weapon
A I think so

 

Q Your hands movement really matched. I heard Jo Jung Seok played the guitar particularly well?
A Actually he tried to enter the college with guitar. He told me he wanted to major in classical guitar. Because we have him, I think we really go that way (playing for real). It's a behind the scenes fact, actually the director never thought that we would prepare so well for the band performances. But after watching our first band performance, he thought it was better than he expected. "It's alright. If you guys are all this passionate, let's play it for real. Then (to the reporters) we can confidently say that we play for real." That day everyone is feeling so good and we all say "Let's do it, let's do it." The problem is, we didn't think we had to prepare one song for each episodes (in total 12 songs).

 

Q So do all of you meet every week to practice? It must be tiring
A We meet regularly every week to practice

 

Q And that's how the band of the name is decided
A Yes. And that's how we get closer to each other

 

Q What is the name of the band?
A Mido and Parasol (laughs)

 

Q When you are shooting, did you turn on the amplifier and play the sound?
A When we shoot, there is a different shoot for our hand movements, our face expressions, we have different shoot angles. It will be difficult for the editing so we recorded the sound first then later we matched it with the hand and sync our mouth movements. Before the shoot, we match the movements ourselves without playing the music.

 

Q There is a youtube video 'Moments of Jeon Mi Do'. It is a collection of videos when you are singing. Have you seen it?
A I don't think I have seen it but I have seen something similar before

 

Q It seems that you can sing better than Jo Jung Seok
A Ah no, it's not like that. This time, as I saw it, Jung Seok Oppa is really good at singing.

 

Q But you don't like as someone who is a tone-deaf. (laughs) Wasn't it difficult to act as a tone-deaf?
A I have played with close actors while pretending that I can't sing. It wasn't that difficult. When my casting was finalized, the writer called me separately. "Won't it be obvious to bring someone who sings well to act as a vocalist? Oppositely I think it will be more attractive to play as someone who is tone-deaf and act it well." At that time, I don't know if the writer has been thinking about it or if the idea came out improvised, but after I heard that I think I could do it.

 

Q It must have been fun while shooting it 
A Yes, it was really fun. I think this drama (personally for me too) is a really healing one

 

Q Do you often meet with 'Mido and Parasol' members?
A Our drama is once a week broadcast drama. We have shot half of the season in advance. And that's how we can have rest days. I heard the PD guaranteed for rest day and chose to air the drama once a week. We have 4 days of shooting and 3 days of rest days. All 3 days were devoted for the music practice. Having a lesson for one day, recording the music for another day and meeting up for band practice for the other day. In the meantime, if we have the chance we will meet up and hang out together

 

Q That's how you build up the chemistry
A Honestly, there is no difference between when we are on and off the camera. We are all similar with the characters

 

Q It reminds me of ,Grey's Anatomy> and <Friends>
A I too thought of those two as well. I never knew what the PD thinks because I never asked

 

Q If you take out the dating part from <Grey's Anatomy> and put the friendship of <Friends> then you will have the similar tone of <Wise Doctor's Life>
A The PD had said that 'I wish it could be a story of friends like <Friends>'

 

Q Meanwhile, the character of Chae Song Hwa who played by Jeon Mi Do is like a rat poison for the male population, or at least for me
A (laughs) What do you mean by a rat poison?

 

Q She is a woman who we can't help but falls in love with
A Really? Because of her personality?

 

Q It would make Dr Ahn Chi Hong as a strange person if he doesn't fall for Song Hwa
A Aah I see

 

Q You do look similar with Chae Song Hwa, right?
A There is part of her that similar with me

 

Q For example?
A Last week, the band scene 'Somehow I Met You' has been released. The bass slab is different from fingering. It took less than a month from practice to shoot it. During the shooting, the PD was very proud. He said to me, "You really look like a model student." There is a scene where explained that Song Hwa wants to do well in everything. I think that part is similar with me.

 

Q Do you have any plans for the future?
A I have a plan to appear in one theater performance, but I can't reveal the details yet. After that, I don't know. I really don't know. There will be another good opportunity comes, right?

I came to say that the videos of the doctors reviewing the show has been very relaxing to watch. And made me nostalgic. I know Severence Hospital in Sinchon. And the Yonsei medical school. And the on- call rooms rounds horrific. 50 people is too much. One of the countries I worked in had single rooms with nice air con working.

 

@alleram95 thanks for the extremely long article translation. I don't or didnt know JDM before this drama but really like her.

 

Frankly the shipping obsessions is tiring to read. So I started skipping it. But when it's analysis it is fascinating to even read that others are so details obsessed.

 

However I appreciate the chance to watch such actors as those playing Dr Jang- the actress CV is interesting and Dr Ahn CH. And even Iksun. I still don't actually know the actors names.

 

But most of all I actually do like the 5 main leads just hanging out together. I learn a lot about the actors for this drama. And their characters are as interesting as the actors. This feels like a drama where you can see true artists doing their craft. And I am not distracted by fan boys or fan girls defending their bias. It is just relaxing just being able to enjoy a well acted, directed and written drama. It's been truly edifying as a viewer.
