And she never knew that IJ knows that SH ever confessed to her as mentioned when they waited for her doctor. So again, she probably was confused because the two of them might’ve grown rather close and hitting it off somehow but the sudden change of course in their relationship left her wondering. But she accepted and moved on as close friends. And now IJ wants to change it. No wonder she is upset. She probably feels that IJ played with her feelings. 

 

Just some thoughts. I guess we have to wait for the reveal in Season 2  I admit the IJ-SH-CH scenes yesterday are so difficult to watch. My poor heart...

I second you on this. They must have known about each other's feelings but that one incident is the cause of Songhwa's expressions yesterday. She could calm herself down and move on over the years because she convinced herself that may be everything happened for good since she rejected Seokhyung and that was the only way out to prevent any awkwardness later, moreover what if Ik Jun never really liked her(We do everything to make ourselves understand, not always with truth though)

 What is confusing and hurting her now then?? Its not like she would not have thought about that incident again. After all these years of convincing herself about how everything that happened was for the best, this sudden confession was disturbing for her. Does she know now that Seokhyung discussed it with Ik Jun?? Was that the only reason he stood her up? No matter how we convince ourselves, the same word coming out from the person himself never sounds convincing enough. I perceived her thoughts this way- "We could have figured a way out if you had some courage back then, just like how i had the courage to reject him outright".

This episode solidly placed Junwan as my number 1 fav character, and Junwan-Jaehak is my ultimate OTP  (Sorry Iksun, but Jaehak win an inch more in my heart, LOL).

 

As for Songhwa, I feel pity for her. I share the same sentiments with some posters here. I, as viewer, feel so uncomfortable watching the triangle love tension in this episode, can you imagine how Songhwa feel? Both guys are throwing confession here & there, but no one asking how is Songhwa true feeling. No wonder she decided to move to Sokcho.

As much as I love Iksong couple (my heart breaks seeing Ikjun singing in karaoke room ), I want to see Songhwa firstly sort out her feeling, because 20 years is not a short time, there is a probability her feeling is faded way 

Since only 1 episode left, I am sure they will leave us with an open ending (probably cliffhanger) for all the OTPs

@midflight Totally agree with you, I never being hooked by any drama like this... and while I was expecting for sweet scene or kiss scene in other Kdrama, I only wish for holding hands scene between Ikjun-SongHwa for SS1 and it would be just heaven!  after EP.11 I am even wish for less, at least they are still together would be good enough. EP.11 really make me heart ache, though we know for sure that won't be 2 happy EP consecutively but my heart still wish for it! 

 

I also feel that EP.11 is wrap up and EP.12 is kind of starting of SS2. 

 

Start off HP by watching the ordinary, warm hearted, funny moment without any expectation of love lines and ended up so hooked on it. PD/writer nim duo got us again and again...

A Catholic friend of mine told a scandal that she heard from someone else that involved a priest and a nun. They slept together frequently and the nun got pregnant. I kinda forget if the nun is already a nun or a novice like Maria from The Sound of Music, but the guy is definitely an ordained priest. So yeah, they left the church, get married, but their children are banned/excommuned from Catholic church forever.

Phew.. Had a lot of catching up to do  I totally love each and every bit of the discussion happening in the forum, everyone has something to contribute in terms of their insights about the episode and that makes me look at every character and understand them in a better way.

@40somethingahjumma I can't really express how much i love your posts, always a food for thought and so satisfying to read.

 

Here are my two cents on the episode 

Ik Jun- Songhwa - Totally love them but seeing what happened in the last episode i am convinced that it's going to be a long route for them. The situation and feelings they share are really complicated, not comprehensible even for a person like Songhwa, she really needs some time to sort everything out. I know IkJun is very vocal about what he feels (more about others though) but this time I think he needs to come clear on his own feelings. The way he is reacting seems triggered more by the situations than him really reflecting on himself about his own feelings. To be honest he needs better reasons to convince Songhwa about why he kept silent for all these years and confessing now. For me his insecurity to lose her to Captain Ahn, her motherly love for U-Ju ( Many instances where he felt that UJu needs a mother and he wont be able to do everything by himself- Songhwa taking care of UJu's fever, the transplant patient's wife and her son) and his fear of awkwardness among friends if he confessed then are simply not convincing enough. I love Ik Jun and I know he is a gem of a person but I could feel Songhwa yesterday. His feelings are deep, but he himself needs to realize that depth thoroughly. 

 

SeokHyung- MinHa- The real Buddha is here people. That one line about baby not being at fault from him and he stole the show for me. I was surprised how Jeong Won reacted there but will discuss that later. SH has been someone who has been shown as socially awkward but surprisingly he is the one who never shied away from speaking his heart out. His trust for his friends is commendable, that he shares every little detail about his life. Out of the lacking 5 he is the only one without a secret. Min Ha is totally right for him and kind of similar to him in this way.

 

Jun Wan- Ik Sun - Though their love line has been clear since the beginning I am still unsure about what to say. He is cute, supportive, understanding and she is apprehensive about a commitment as of now but loves him deeply. A long distance relationship?? Why not? A man whose relationships never lasted for more than 3 months is ready to wait for 3 years, and may be even more. For me, their story is a lesson- No matter what your past was like, its all about that one right person.

And Ik Jun knows it all

Jeong Won - Gyeoul - I can't even hide my affection for them  . Yesterday's episode was enough for me to keep rooting for them, i won't be bothered by any other theories  now. As many people have pointed out, his comfort around her does have something to do with the Proposal she got. He can finally let himself do what he really wanted in the first place without hurting her (that's what he thinks) and taking all the suffering by himself. Just like everyone I don't think Gyeoul is going to stop him. She doesn't need to. I won't say Gyeoul is the reason but she is definitely the trigger. She unsettles him with a silent understanding. She never argues or tries to prove her point, instead she learns and improves, kind of showing him a mirror but not in a negative sense . Perfect way to melt that stubbornness of him, he is someone who is so emotional and stubborn that he always had this feeling of  people being unable to understand his reasons, his dreams. She does somehow, his love for children, his emotional personality, his treatment of her even if its cold. Her acceptance just makes it tough for him, and makes him assess his decisions and his feelings. He is uncomfortable since this is not something he is used to. Either he goes or stays because of emotions, things will be back to square one. What is the assurance he won't feel the same later?, and then his resentments would be worse because of the chance he lost to pursue his childhood dream. He needs to make his decisions without being clouded by emotions. She can definitely help him do that, by making him realize that he cannot run away by just finding a replacement for himself. And he is anything but forgiving, as his character description also says that he holds grudges. His response to SH being considerate of the baby was not something expected of a person going for priesthood. 

I found something interesting on twitter, where knetz are saying that when Jeong Won is asking someone to take care of Gyeoul its the day when she got admitted in ER because of the anaphylactic reaction.

Guys, just now I read some comment in youtube who thinks that IJ and SHwa actually dating back then...and then after SHyeong conffessed they broke up

 

After read that comment it totally make sense (for me) because I read in this forum that SHwa little bit upset because of IJ conffession (I'm sorry...because I haven't watched the last episode yet so I mighy be wrong) so the theory might be make sense to

 

HP is plot by 3 season so I'm actually try to not have any expectation (afraid) because it can be change in the rest of the season and maybe because I'm in the minority of shipping my couple 

 

P.S. Literally I'm not Ik-Song shipper and sorry about my bad english hopefully you can understand what I mean
