Yoo Yeon Seok will be transforming into the kindhearted Ahn Jung Won once again!

“Hospital Playlist,” which stars Jo Jung Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Dae Myung as five doctors who first met in medical school and have been close friends ever since, tells the everyday stories of ordinary doctors and patients. After stealing viewers’ hearts last year, the hit medical drama is returning for a second season this June.

Last season, Yoo Yeon Seok was widely acknowledged for his portrayal of the pediatric surgery professor Ahn Jung Won, who is a very warmhearted and considerate character. Viewers could immerse themselves even deeper into the drama because of the way Yoo Yeon Seok sincerely portrayed a doctor doing his best at every moment.

In the stills for season 2, Ahn Jung Won is still the angel he was in season 1, affectionately taking care of his patients with a gentle smile. Just as he did in the first season, Ahn Jung Won wears a stethoscope with a crocodile doll hanging onto it, and he treats patients at eye level. “Hospital Playlist,” which stars Jo Jung Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Dae Myung as five doctors who first met in medical school and have been close friends ever since, tells the everyday stories of ordinary doctors and patients. After stealing viewers’ hearts last year, the hit medical drama is returning for a second season this June.

In the new poster of the “’99-ers” (referring to the year their characters all entered medical school), the five friends Ik Joon (Jo Jung Suk), Jung Won (Yoo Yeon Seok), Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho), Seok Hyung (Kim Dae Myung), and Song Hwa (Jeon Mi Do) are out of their doctor’s gowns and dressed in bright clothing to reflect the warm atmosphere.

 

Through the poster, viewers can feel the five doctors’ close friendship of 20 years as they stop together to watch the rain while getting off work. The new poster captures an ordinary day in the lives of the five friends who are taking a small break on their way back home after a busy day.

Hospital Playlist 2 releases new poster and stills

Hospital Playlist is almost back for its second season! After all those cliffhangers, I can’t wait to finally learn what’s happened to the gang. Recently, the poster above was released showing the five doctors after work, waiting for the rain to stop; the caption says: “The ordinary days of our special lives.”

 

For those of you who haven’t watched Hospital Playlist yet, I highly recommend a binge marathon between now and when the second season starts airing in mid-June. It’s a warm, medical slice-of-life drama centered around the hospital where miracles of life and death occur daily. It follows a close-knit group of five friends that met in med school nearly two decades ago, and are now all specialists working at the same hospital.

 

 

Jung Kyung-ho (Crash Landing on You, Apgujeong Report) plays a prickly cardiovascular surgeon who loves golf. Kim Dae-myung (The Sound of Your Heart, Stone Skipping) plays a shy OB/GYN doc who is a complete mama’s boy. Yoo Yeon-seok (Mr. Sunshine, New Years Blues) plays a pediatric surgeon who believes that Catholic priesthood is his true calling.

Jeon Mi-do (Mother, Metamorphosis) plays a tone-deaf neurosurgeon who is good at almost everything except singing. Last but not least, there’s Jo Jung-seok (Nokdu Flower, Land of Happiness) who plays a general surgeon that is a popular, cheerful single dad of the cutest kid in the universe, played by Kim Joon.

Still cuts of Jo Jung-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok were also released. Regarding season 2, Yoo Yeon-seok said: “Normally when a drama starts filming, I go through a period of apprehension and worry, but coming to season 2 [of Hospital Playlist] felt like going back to school and meeting friends after a long vacation… Although it was our first shoot in a while, it felt so natural and comfortable, as if we had also met yesterday.”

 

Written by Lee Woo-jung (Answer Me 1988) and directed by Shin Won-ho (Smart Prison Living, Answer Me 1988), tvN’s Hospital Playlist 2 begins airing on June 17.
