In episode 42, when JC meets QY,  anybody know what they're saying? Did she give him a medicine or something? He gets too emotional during that conversation, i guess he mentions QY and YF's at some point, but i cant figure out

OMG RIGHT? THAT CUT SCENE WITH THE KISS! I feel like that kiss sums up their relationship perfectly. its like the cutest little scene ever. I hate that they cut it but glad they shared the BTS for it haha. (now I can write it into my fanfic haha)

I rather the sub  team sub this show exclusively so that it gets sub faster. any why only 6 episodes/week. this will drag on for 10 weeks to complete. was thia a wise viki deal?  all episodes are out on youtube already.  netflix sub 10 episodes a week for the king's avatar . I just checked some of the comments and one of the people subbing said that it was a combo of things as to why its taking a while. They said they have, #1. family, friends, work and school , so they can only sub in their free time #2 Other series came out at the same time (I'm assuming they are also subbing for those) and #3. They have to coordinate timing the subs with when people are speaking. They said something about "segment specialists" who add where people speak (?). #4 Check that everything is correct. All this takes about 1-2 days. So we just have to be patient.

(a bit of information from my little amateur directing experience: almost every kiss scene in L&D is a combo of montaged cut kissing scenes, from different kisses in different shots, binded together. Looks pretty sophisticated-in a negative way- in dramas, but still is a fangirling happy fact to know.) 

e.g. that kiss in his bedroom when they got interrupted by Shi San and the others,

actually there were 2 kisses cut and montaged together-if you watch carefully the different sides, its same angle but different kiss.

I prefer a little delay so that they can give a good subbing result! Synchronization is the most important thing! Most Asian movies and dramas i've watched, suffer in that point! I cant even get the time to read the sub and im wasting time from the picture. Subs are moving too fast most of the time and its very tiring! 

I think they 're right, there are so many c-dramas, AvenueX mentioned in one of her videos that every year there is a huge number of dramas airing (plus the ones that never air due to other reasons), so...its natural to take time for subbing!

lol omg I missed that little smile the first time around, but yeah, that one is reallyy cute too! at the one I was talking about, I think I watched the BTS so much that in my mind, the MV had that little hand gesture she did to sho him off to do his thing LOL. that whole scene was so cute, him trying to kills her, her leaning back and he got her nose instead, she smiled and sho him off with her little hands. urgh. we needed that in the show LOL

 

they really did a lot of kissing to get these scenes just right LOL. if they were single I'd ship them so hard (well, he isn't but im not sure if she's dating atm)

@Vals Stor Gugu! I watched that scene easily a hundred times or more - let me point out in the second scene LX is actually kissing JC when they get interrupted - so proud of this girl always matches him lol

I love the fact that LX, though she is just a little girl, not experienced at all in everything, she just cant hold her mouth and her intentions, no matter what, in front of gods, demons, him-especially him-and she's so shameless when expressing her opinion, her affection and everything!

She even proposed to go and live at his place there in the bridge! Totally shameless!  

She considers everything as a natural thing-actually she's right- i cant forget when in ep 3-4 she said to him: "so what if they think i spent the night in your bedroom? After all i didnt touch you at all and i can tell them so"

She even sits and stares him all the other times he's frozen or sleeping or recovering!

On that note, isnt it super funny that both brothers: JC and YF, found their exact opposites as soulmates? What disastrous pairing! 

JC and QY both so mature and serious people and are matched with that dorks-YF hits the roof of being a clown, a 5 year old, as much shameless as LX!  Great pairing in both couples!

I have so many ideas for fanfic, the only problem is my non-fluent english! Otherwise i already have tones of scenes in my mind!

 

To me, my fav arc is the third one, too pity it lasted so little! That long scenes with JX could 've been avoided to save screen time! 

Third arc is where i enjoy the couple, they re almost equals in many aspects, they have developed a lot as personalities, LX is more cautious and less childish-though she keeps her childish adorable mentality, she 's trying to adjust to her new upgraded identity, to reach JC's  level herself, to clear things out with Yuan Tong, to not waste his sacrifices and efforts to save her, thus to prove she deserved it all- and JC has become soft as butter but still strong as rock and steady to his love and support. No useless silly ego-behaviors and stuff. They always have a serious reason for what they say or do

 

Overall, the most enjoyable thing with these two, is that, all their obstacles come from outside. They dont have even a second when they question each other and doubt his/her feelings -ok except when LX couldnt hear him when in demon tower and thought he betrayed her, but that lasted only for a few moments. 

 

On my feminist point of view, ok, we ve got the usual: man-saves woman, protects and sacrifices himself every time, but he's not the repulsive kind of macho guy who doesnt take her seriously. She also saves him and sacrifices things for him.

 JC likes and respects her will to work and study and he is so feminist himself that he can stay at home 24/7, cooking and doing nothing but wait for her to bring the money and food

Just marathon this over the Labor Day weekend!  Holy cow how could I have missed this  over the summer ~ 

 

I love arch 1 & 3 the most, the 2nd arch took a lot of time and MoMo, I prefer spunky Ling Xi.  MoMo is Ling Xi but she doesn't have memory of Ling Xi and so her death was sad in a sense that she thinks Jiu Chen didn't love her at all.  Her last words to him were ... remember the person you're waiting for is Ling Xi. 

 

I'm amazed w/ the amount of comedy bits in between, I love that bits near the end where Jiu Chen fanboys basically advise him not to go see Ling Xi, and if he misses her ask her to come to his place instead.  He denied ever going to see her, but was revealed by Thirteen when she brings in the tea box prepare by Ling Xi (the last time they went there Ling Xi send tea back)... LOL!

 

While it's still fresh in my mind, my most fav fluffy scene of the OTP is when he went to visit her & gave her two pecks on the lips.  He said since she found him first (woke him up from 50,000 yrs), she now has to take responsibility.  And that ever since meeting her, he doesn't want to live alone now.  OMG Jiu Chen, where did you learn these things and so smooth.

@Winterfairy yesss - we'll save fanfic for later - there's so much stuff to discuss since the subs aren't out on the later episodes and I really love watching so many scenes in this drama and agree with @Vals Stor about the purity of their relationship - the common cliched tropes have been successfully avoided and you have a very funny way with English Gugu - I love all your funny metaphors (can't remember properly - you said something like only CC can look hot in furniture clothing LMAO) -

 

And the "feminist" aspect of this - I love how both develop - and I love how buttery JC gets LOL - the only thing I sort of have minor issues with is how giving up ruling her kingdom is not even a big sacrifice for LX - she isn't conflicted much about it - (I wouldn't too if I was in love with God of War) but I want to see her doing something big and good with her powers apart from being a good mom

 

And these days I'm obsessed with ep 58 scene where JC talks with LX for the last time before going off fighting battles alone - it's such a lovely scene - I just want to see them talk normal everyday stuff lol (I recently watched AvenueX review and she was saying something similar)

 

I want to see more of LX in the third arc and how she kicks richard simmons and still be this girly girl who wants to stitich her own wedding gown
