I recall other big shows airing on channels and on Netflix on the same night, and they were fine? Yes literally it means the same time but 1-hour separation is really not much to write home about. As the above said we avoid mentioning other dramas in here but most aired a day later which means they escape immediate cannibalism on itself. Except two and one of them aired 4 hours later I believe that was the closest. airing immidiately after can have a masive effect obviously which is logical 4

The royal body guard clearly has trust issues and does not buy a word of our king's gibberish yet truth. I won't be surprised if he accompanies the king during his next visit to the parallel world lol. Detective girl's dumbstruck expressions at the end of epi after crossing the parallel world was priceless. She's so not ready for what's yet to come Why do I get this strange feeling that prime minister who's adamant to control the royal family might end up joining hands with the evil uncle whose busy gathering his army for a probable invade? Well for starters prime minister doesn't look satisfied with whatever she has achieved and her ambition could mesh well with the evil uncle. I love strong women but she comes across as too obnoxious and less charismatic if you know what I mean lol I agree .I have no problem with villain characters . Example I like Lee Lim because he is a Villain .We need them so the plot moves. But prime minister looks like a mean child who wants everything just because. I dont see brains ,I dont see clever strategies I dont see a plan .She better be Lee Lim's minion .

mrsj3n
@Geolyvseven LOL.. I don't think they are flirting in secret as for now, there is only signs of JTE missing our King in his absence and not head over heels yet like us here. Lol @kiklaminHo Prime Minister seems to be ambitious. She wants the King. I doubt she is minion of Lee Rim yet. That silver haired guy is a possibility since he was the one providing her with scandalous pictures of the assemblyman. @syntyche what a great review and insight thoughts. And I do keep rewatching episode 4 and have myself swooooooning over LG and then getting electrified by the chemistry between LG and JTE. That hands on his shoulder. That hands on her waist. Omg.. no kissing required to set my heart racing. LOL Got a question: Have we seen a picture of LG's mother in Corea? Or are they the same person as in the parallel universe? So will JTE find her dad's doppelganger in Corea too? And.. why do I find the guy preparing the King's attire suspicious?? Is he a spy for Lee Rim? So many questions and the days are not moving forward fast enough!!! 11 3

Not flirting out right but hiding her and eyeing her is a form of flirting in my town Just kidding I agree tho regarding the premier minister she is ambitious and probably the reason Lee Gon is hiding JTE or the PM might get her killed you never know 1

The overlapping of what happened Mon. Corea and Rep. Korea to the same person is a weird coincidence and it happened at the same time... That's why I thought about it. The scene in itself must have some kind of meaning (it surely shows that the two characters are connected), but I wouldn't think too much of the specific sensation being more intense in one world or the other. There's no clear evidence of it (in my previous post I tried explaining why there isn't), so I think it's too early to say that one world is "sturdier" and made to last while the other is meant succumb and fade away. It might be true, but imho we need more clues to take such a guess. 8 3

That thread is still (by far!) the most viewed/replied to in Soompi's history. This drama seems promising too, from that point of view... 12

So many questions and the days are not moving forward fast enough!!! Yes I read somewhere that prime minister wanted Lee gon for herself that's why she will make a wrong choice(don't remember correctly but maybe on my dramalist site)and I don't remember quite well(I didn't read carefully before because I didn't care about any other character in drama before airing other than Lee gon)but there was something about her marriage that she got married and divorced because of political benefits so can it be possible that that mysterious man (who is always beside her) is her husband?and she will soon get divorced from him? Plus my question is that there were rumors before that do Hwan will be playing good and bad both characters so who can be bad both of them jo or eun? I watched a Chinese drama before in which to save her child mother do some magic and with his blood she make another person??? Can it be possible that both of them(jo and eun) one is puppet or something like that made by magic(I know it sound ridiculous but this question just came into my mind) Edit:I just checked mydramalist's description and it's not there don't know where I read this description about prime minister Edit:that Chinese drama is "fighter of the destiny"starring luhan
1ouise
@noor ul ain The first page of this forum has a lot of info and links. Jung Eun Chae plays Gu Seo Ryung, the youngest and first woman prime minister. She has always been ambitious, and she overcame the hardships of her upbringing to attain power. She wasn’t afraid to use her divorce to win more votes, and she set her new target on Lee Gon. Whenever she was around him, support for her would rise but at a certain point, she started to develop feelings for him. When she finds out that he might have his eyes on someone else, her jealousy leads her down a dangerous path. 7

YongZura⁷
@syntyche did a good job on the FIRST PAGE about the introduction of the casts, characters, characters's descriptions, trailers etc as reference. Do look it up whenever one needs to understand about this drama better. At the same time we're going to collect more clues from each episode as it is broadcasted. I also don't trust my memory watching it once.... I need to rewatch ... maybe again and again ... syntyche
Lee Min-ho of "The King" is an immersive romance master with his appealing eyes Actor Lee Min-ho is mesmerizing viewers with his glaring performance, which is unprecedented. He is drawing enthusiastic responses from fans at home and abroad as he transforms himself into the Korean Empire emperor Lee Gon in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "The King: Eternal Monarch." In particular, Lee Min-ho's detailed eye acting, which captures Lee Gon's complex emotional lines and background narratives, such as sadness, loneliness, pain, longing, and excitement, is increasing the immersion in the drama as time goes by. Among them, Lee Min-ho's melodramatic eyes, which give viewers an ecstatic thrill, are by far the best. The romance is ripening even more as Lee Gon's growing heart toward Tae-eul is conveyed with Lee Min-ho's deep eyes. #1 "Finally I see you" - Eyes of emotion (1st episode) One of the representative scenes is the ending scene of the first episode where Lee Gon hugs Jung Tae-eul, who has been anxiously searching for her for 25 years. "Finally I'm seeing you," he said with his teary eyes. Lieutenant Jeong Tae-eul," said Lee Min-ho, hugging Kim Go-eun with all his might, and after a long wait, I could feel Lee Gon's overwhelming emotion when he met someone he had long missed. #2 "I'll make you my empress" # - Serious eyes The ending scene drew so much attention that the real-time search word "I will make you my Empress" topped the list right after the broadcast. For Lee Gon, it was a strong word to convey his sincerity to Jeong Tae-eul, who does not believe in the parallel world and his existence. Lee Min-ho took a pose and completed a proposal that marked the beginning of a high-quality romance with a serious tone and eyes. #3 "I saw a beautiful thing" # "The man I loved" # - ecstasy, affectionate eyes In the third episode, Lee Gon experienced a fantastic moment for the first time a side effect of crossing the door of the dimension. Lee Min-ho, who stared at Kim Go-eun in a sudden pause, smiled, saying, "I saw something beautiful thanks to (time stopping)." Here, Lee Min-ho amplified his excitement by creating a sweet romantic atmosphere that had never been before with a faint look and ecstatic eyes. At the end of the show, however, Lee Gon, who is heading back to his world, was depicted contrasting. After looking back at the Republic of Korea with affectionate eyes, Lee Min-ho's delicate eye acting further heightened the lonely atmosphere. In particular, the narration of Kim So-wol's poem "Invocation of the Dead" added to the heart-wrenching lingering imagery, raising expectations for the next development. #4 "My name is Lee Gon" - Charisma, Exciting Eyes (Episode 4) On the day of the first snow, Lee Gon and Tae-eul came together to the Korean Empire. That was only when Lee Gon first officially revealed his name to Tae-eul, "I am the emperor of the Korean Empire, and my name which should not be called, is Lee Gon. This caused a thrill storm in the hearts of viewers. On the same day, Lee Min-ho made the breathtaking ending with charismatic and excited eyes toward Kim Go-eun, drawing heated attention even after the show, with comments, "My name is Lee Gon" as a search word for the portal site's New Topic. As such, Lee Min-ho is continuing his positive reviews by shaking the hearts of women in each episode with his eyes that express the fantasy romance genre superbly as well as the combination of emotions that Emperor Lee Gon has. Attention is drawn to Lee Min-ho's performance, which will portray affectionate and beautiful love against the fate of the parallel world with his dark eyes. SBS Friday-Saturday drama "The King," starring Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun, airs every Friday and Saturday night at 10 p.m. http://pop.heraldcorp.com/view.php?ud=202004271033540204215_1 14

I think he wants to be some kind of God or have ultimate power or that sort of thing. As hypothesized by some others here, that Lee Rim keeps painting the Temple probably for that very reason. Being the king of a country would really be mostly a figure-head without any real power, especially if you have a parliament, like they seem to have in Corea. Thanks @littleloony! I was trying to remember what we were told about the Flute in ep 1. Now I will need to rewatch ep 1 --again You would think there would be something in place to prevent someone from abusing the power of the Flute. 5 1
