Good morning and thank you in advance. No judgment please as I chose this choice and will get to ep 13- 15 later.

Juat checking what I watched. Everyone bar the OTP can't remember. LG always finds JTE during the weekends. Working on that premise can someone answer these questions please?

1. JY can't remember JTE but likes the PRD lady? Luna is Go Seo- something but the sister of the jailed PM?

2. How does the 1994 Kang Sin Jae seeing the car crash or reporting it significant? His father still stayed rich and he became a rich adult? The 1994 learnt taekwando early rather than in high school and never met JTE.

Huh? The Corean police officer Sin Jae met Luna or the new Go and are together? When did I miss that in ep 16?

3. Eun Seop became a NIS agent and married Na Ri who may not be JTE's friend now?

4. Then who is Seong Min who stole from the safe and what is the grandmother and snowy roof for?

5. The Korean LR is still wheelchair bound but somehow the " King " still died?

They LG and JTE decided since Luna or aka Goo Seo- something is still the doppelanger they can't get married so he never has a heir or kids.

Shesh.

So what did I just watch again? Oh yeah the Korean Ji Hun is extremely good looking and both the Korean Ji Hun and Sin Jae is my best bet of a happy ever after ending? There's nobody in Corea I care about bar JY? Since the Corean JH is comatose or not shown.

Thank you again for the answers. Well I did miss Lee Minho and one has to admit he does look so good in his outfits here. I can finally wipe the BoF memories out of my mind. I am just going to enjoy having multiple gazillions images online gif now of him in navy whites and the other uniform versions.

For no 2....KSJ was bedridden due to an accident. It was made known to us in the earlier episodes( i forgot which one). Therefore, when LG met young KSJ in epi 16 and spent time chatting with him....it indirectly prevented KSJ returning to his house at the time of the car crashed. If not, KSJ would have involved in the accident hence the reason why he was in coma.

Rewatching the episode, the part where LG finally found JTE and asked how she managed to retain her memories, she says "Let's skip that. I've also been through many things myself". Haha. She conveniently skips telling him that she was the one who risked her life to escort LR into the in-between place, not SJ. She would have shocked the hell out of LG if he found out that she found out about his plans to let baby LG die.

I also realised that after the restoration of the worlds, many things disappeared but some didn't. One was the PPL necklace, the other was the sprouted seeds that JTE brought over from KOC. When the fate boy said that he thought the yoyo string would break by itself (thereby signalling their fate together was up) but it sprouted instead (referring to the seed), I think that convinced him not to break the string himself. JTE's blind hope helped them find each other again.

Same timeline. They never left the palace grounds.  JY had the vest.  Check the scene where he had bullet holes on his back - no blood.  So he was not dead at all.

JY actually does get shot once. He first shields baby LG with his body, with the bullets hitting him in the back on the vest. He then turns around to shoot at the minions, and this time one of the bullets actually gets to him because you see blood. This is why his hand was trembling when checking baby LG's pulse, he was already injured. This is also why LG went back to get injured JY, he couldn't get out by himself.

In our reset timeline JiHun's dad was still murdered by someone else somehow, but it wasn't Lee Lim. It could have really been his time to die in the hands of someone else.

Ji -Hun's dad , it was maybe Implied that LR killed him, but from all that we know LR never might have killed him, he did Die because of some random accident. The same happened in Reset timeline.

LG's dad was always to be murded so was Ji-Hun's das always be killed in hit and run case.

Absolutely. That's why he retains memories. He came back with LG to their changed world in 2020.

Can I be honest - I think he looked better in the blue uniform than the White Commander one.

Sorry to the King.

LJH looked impossibly good in that uniform...

I find the white uniform a bit large for LMH/LG.  A little tuck would have done the trick.  As for the blue uniform, well his fans have always preferred him in blue or dark colors as it brings out the best in his features. That's why LJH looked smokin' in that uniform.

I think this is the best that LMH has looked so far. I thought it was in LOTBS but in TKEM he exudes some elevated aura.  I guess it comes with the maturity or his portrayal of it. Outside of the film, like in the BTS, am glad he still retains his dorky side. That is endearing.

Re-watching the episode: When LG's reciting of the Four Swords inscription is inter-cut with his father's recital of it: I get a teensy bit emotional :tears:. The inscription becomes like a prayer, giving strength and guidance. That scene is beautiful as well, with the snow and the music.

Would it be possible to have some more polls during this week? As a wrap-up? If people are interested and it is not too much bother? Would be great to have two polls about best episode - best of the first half and second half. Also maybe a poll about the most beautifully directed scene would be a really nice way to look back at some of the stunning scenes we've seen. I could compile a list of suggestions? :)

LMH IG update

I appreciate everyone who loved "The King." Always be happy.

I think it's really cute how he wrote the caption there. Bye2Gon. Hahaha. I'm sad we're not seeing him again every week like before. LG will remain as one of the memorable characters for most of us. Bye to LG, hope you'll have next drama soon. Huhuhu. Get some plenty rest and resume doing work later on.

Yoyo KID Tweaked and Pulled the NEW STRING OF FATE of all The Characters who were Chosen to Participate with LG to correct what was wrong ( JY never met Him in literal sense because he would always be there with LG, Lady Noh made sure so). They ended up meeting the people they were Designated TO. LR became the GOD personified, So FATE/GOD actually Had to intervene. If we notice presence of Teen/Kid Yoyo Fate Deity started when LG/JTE/SJ became Teens, first event most prob was SJ in ROK had to walk with his Bully, the BUlly was passing by JTE's house when she was trying her hair seduction to lure people in Taekwondo center, This is what led SJ to see her as well. His FINAL JOB he dis was to Spare the memories and Align the Fates again of all the main people, He did. he ain't irresponsible.

I know. Hahaha. You see I'm just being bitter for a moment. So I need someone to blame but well. I got all the points you mentioned here. He's the deity which entangle people with fates and put everything in its balance.

@SweetButters yeah he said "you bastards" LOL i feel like there are sides of JY that we didn't really get to see, like his temper and his softer side towards the twins. oh yeah, also towards the nari in ROC (i can never remember her name)

Also i realized that the adult flute guy said "the doors will now close" and then LG be like "OPEN CLOSE OPEN CLOSE OPEN CLOSE OPEN CLOSE" for the rest of his life:joy:

@SCSfanz what the heck !!! Why did Netflix translate so many things wrong, um could you translate that scene for me? I loved seeing JY's softer and sweet side towards the twins and MSA (Nari's KOC equivalent...its spelt like Myoung Seung A or something like that) lol. Wish we got to see more of that, but GOSH he's like a flip switch...one moment he's a cold blooded killer the next he's sweet as a teddy bear lol.

HAHAHAHAH POOR LG hahha but heyyyyy yo-yo kid can't simply give everything to LG....he's got to work for it lol.:naughty:

@SweetButters now I know why your questions weren’t answered. We already got the answers LOL!

@vangsweetie637 HAHAH yea freaking KES put answers everywhere throughout the whole freaking drama and now after the final episode or piece I was like WOW....I was so blind and stupid :joy:. Yep pretty much brain dead now again whewwww.

Well, this yoyo kid guy is the represent of deity in their world. That is why he knows everything and control everything. Last line you wrote. It does reminds me of uncle Ben of Peter Parker's last line for him. Yes, I somewhat share the same thought as you did. That he left the flute to the right person so that owner should be tested first wether he is eligible or not and LG proved he is the one.

@Alice Wonderland Yea exactly !!!! Like freaking yo-yo kid is omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent and that flute is like a gift as well as part of him in some sense. Its like God's gift to the world was the arc of the covenant or whatever other biblical gifts God bestow to the people lol. Yea thats why there was the whole King Arthur and the sword reference lol. :joy:

ME THREE!

I wish we've seen a lil bit more of arc between those two. I still can't get over the beginning scene when MSA said to JY " You're so cool.." and he replied "I can hear you..". I wish we can see the back story how JY is actually smitten by her too.. I guess, as JTE said it would become spy thriller series later, hahaha...

@Goong_admirer HAHAH yea I love that scene and all of their scenes together. MSA left JY confused so many times from the whole walk off after JY was trying to get MSA to spill the beans of what all JTE said lol. I guess it is a spy triller romance haha since JY feels like he has to keep it a secret because otherwise all the other royals guards and LG would tease him for it lol. BE FREE JY BE FREE LIKE YOUR LAPTOP lol. ITS OK TO EXPRESS EMOTIONS lol!! :tounge_wink:

@SweetButters I don't think LADY NOH we see in reset KOC knows JTE, the Events were tweaked , else there wouldn't have been any Jo twins or so. That KOC now has a LUNA who is a Police Officer instead of a criminal, a PM who is in jail. So no Lady Noh is happy but she does not know who JTE is.She remembers LG being happier and not crazy switicjing Portals upto 2020 midway, because now baby LG had no Id to run for. Also in this Reset World LUNA does not have cancer yet nor Does LG have his Scar.I think those were the indications that the world we saw fron episode 1-13 Does not exist in ita entireity anymore.

@madmad min Another thing we should learn is that Lady Noh knows it all and remembers lol :joy:. I mean if she had suspected that it was just some random girl in LG's room, she would have been acting as rudely as the first time she met JTE. You know she would have been investigating and separating a random girl from LG's room, but since she knew it was JTE she didnt do so. Plus after meeting JY again, JTE and LG brainstorm who else remembers and is in the palace and they both say Lady Noh's name at the same time right before she runs in. The only reason why JY and Lady Noh were somewhat surprised is that they never thought LG would ever find JTE again given knowing the events that had happened previously lol. LG didnt need the ID to find JTE again lol he had all of his memories and the whole flute to do so lol. Even though Luna does not have cancer yet, it does not mean she won't get it eventually. The yo-yo kid did not change her fate of dying from a terminal illness, all he did was gave her a little more time to have a good life before she dies early. Its like LR's ROK doppelgänger, his fate of getting polio or whatever did not change before or after the timeline reset. Meaning that Luna's fate of getting the terminal illness and dying early does not change, yo-yo kid just granted her a little more time by maybe another year or so give or take.

For me, being the flute is still tantamount to being a deity  such that being they possess supernatural powers, esp in the TKEM context.  I just couldn't appreciate Yoyo Kid being the bully. If it is to emphasize the initial ties that brought TE & SJ together like what @SweetButters proposed, I think there are more ingenious ways of showing that.  Perhaps I will find better context after I binge watch the whole series :)

@mychoiyoung @Joanna Alfson Yea that was what I was trying to say, the flute was like a gift to the world of man from the yo-yo kid and therefore contained some part of himself in it. Yo-yo kid sees all and knows all lol. He moves around all the chess pieces to make it so that LG has a happy, less lonely, and less scary life. He also makes it so that LG's life would be filled with protection, security; kind goes hand in hand with true love since JTE provides an heir ensuring security to the royal court lol , true love aka JTE, a motherly and fatherly figure aka Lady Noh and Prince Buyeong, and a brother. All these things are provided by yo-yo kid so that LG's life and timeline is eternal and everlasting throughout history or until the baton/flute can be passed down to the next king aka JTE/LG's kid.

I love love love this interpretation! I would like to believe that yes we ended with that very very short glimpse of their old hands together, but that is merely to assure us that they would end up together forever. That doesn't mean though that our other dreams - TE getting an identity in KoC while still maintaining her life in RoK, them getting married and TE becoming Queen, them having kids, etc - would not/did not happen: we just didn't see them happen anymore. But hey at least we're all free to come up with our own versions of their life together!

Ohh I would have to disagree a bit with this huhu JY has always been there for LG ever since and even up to his ultimate fight, he came along with him with absolutely no hesitations (despite LG giving him orders as a King to stay outside of Chonjyeongo or something haha). Because of this both of them also have memories from their original timeline, making their bond stronger than they can have with anyone else.

@Wanderer062287 Haha thanks !! yea I think now after being given the last episode or piece to the puzzle, I finally figured it out haha FREAKING YO-YO !!! lol He's been up to meddling in LG life since even before LG was even born hahah!!! :joy:

Oh with my JY and LG comment, I was meaning to say that their scenes in the very last episode were superficial in the sense that I wanted there to be more hahahah!!!!:bawling:

Hey Monarchs! I would like to thank you all for visiting, posting, liking, and lurking on this thread. "The King" has been quite a ride for all of us. Kudos to us for sticking with the drama until the end. This has been a community where we share our theories, opinions, and expertise. You have made this into a friendly space where we could share our interest for the drama. Your determination to read all pages of this LTE-fast thread is admirable. :)(Apologies if I missed your names here. I tried my best to list all of those who posted in the last week.)

I'm just here to say hello !!!

I'm glad about 2 things:

- My comic post about ending was partialy right, and a lot of (funny) things happened.

- My other post about ending was right too, final answer was : Gods of space time ! :w00t:

(it's just I did it without the plot-holes of the drama, lol !) B)

Maybe the whole flute is in the whip? I have always thought that the whip now contains the whole flute hihi (would it fit? lol)

I'm going to think this way then.

I do shed some tears during this scene. It becomes more emotional for me when everything in both worlds are reset and disappears, return to its places. :tears:

If I threw away all my expectations and see it objectively, the whole series did pretty well in general. They answered most major conflicts and mysteries, they solve them. Though some are left unexplained but that's minor. And what is more wonderful and beautiful is the drama is really so intriguing and entertaining till the last ride. The bitter part is why is it ended this fast. It makes some of us, well myself, need to vent some disappointments about certain things. But overall, it's still good. How should I put it. We're just get the most exciting part but they end it there like a long lasting cliffhanger. It's ended where it feels like there some more to tell. You see, I'm having a severe withdrawal syndrome here. What's the remedy... :weary: I'm planning to rewatch the all episodes at this weekend.

With all the imaginative POST-EPI16 theories still flying around, this is becoming TKEMT - THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH OF THEORIES (still smh)

I am going to add to all the ideas and theories because like most of you I am just not ready to let this one go. My first reaction was mixed ( in retrospect because I just didn’t want it to end. I want more) so I watched episode 16 again. This time because I knew that things were going to turn out fine, I could begin to dream. So Miss Writer and Netflix I want a second season. There is so much more to this story. If you need ideas there are a lot of us here who could help you out. Here are mine.

  • Our king needs an heir and queen, they need to get married so go back in time to lay the groundwork for JTE to have a history in KOC, She could be Luna’s long lost twin. But in doing this you will find Luna’s back story
  • They travel back in time to tell Lady’s Noh’s back story.  I am sure that story would be interesting
  • Travel to another parallel world to help there
  • The King from an alternate world comes to our King’s world and causes problems which they must fix
  • Something goes badly wrong in JTE’s ROK and the King and JTE must help fix that

I am sure there are a lot of other story lines that everyone here could add.  We need more time. We need a second season

About "gods ending"...

There is also a little plot-hole in my version, but you can solve it easely : put Tae Eul blood on flute.

Or you can just do it like this : Tae Eul and Lee Gon go in the past 3h before, and take another flute for Tae Eul.

I avoided the plot-hole "go back in time before the flut split" you see in the drama, so of course, I can't predict something based on plot-hole and breaking logical rules the drama set. ;)

Other inconsistencies was the whole magical flute thing appearing every 20 years and in the end seeing LG with still half a flute in his whip? That just lead me to all sorts of confused and messed up. Also what the heck did JTE tell Luna to get?????

So Luna was always suppose to have cancer and die early like that was her fate so I don't get why she's still alive at in 2022. Like the whole LR's doppelgänger having polio before and still after the time reset. So I thought it would make sense that getting certain illnesses does not change regardless of any time reset.

Luna's fate from the get go was to be the twin that got cancer and died early while JTE was the twin that didn't get cancer and lived a long life which is balance.

Also, they never did go over why she never has memories of her past either which lead me to think there was suppose to be a bigger story for Luna than originally intended by KES. The whole premise for Luna's criminal actions throughout the whole show is that she didnt have her past memories which caused her to become the way she was from stealing and whatever else.

She probably got Luna to steal LR while she went to get the manpasikjeok from SJ. In a way, she leaves SJ with no choice but to hand the flute over because she would never handover LR otherwise and LG would not have been able to save the world.

I don't think that original Luna grew up without memories, if anything she simply grew up abandoned without parents thus having nothing to remember of them. While it was Luna's fate to be abandoned by her parents, it wasn't her fate was to remain a street kid and criminal eventually dying young of cancer. In a world without LR, some choices made by people are different and in this reset world the PM's mom decide to adopt her. ROK's LR was born with polio, but original Luna only got cancer in adulthood. Her new fate might mean her illness was never occurred or was delayed since she got a chance at living a proper life. She also now have the resources to seek treatment unlike the original Luna. In the reset world LJH didn't die early and was raised well, the same goes for LG. I think people in parallel worlds don't necessarily have to end up differently for balance.
