I didn’t watch Stairway to Heaven and would like to see the scene which parallels Kim Joo Muk wearing the red beanie to get a better understanding. Wonder if anybody can direct me to the YouTube clip...?

His acting was really good. According to Kang Nara (who defected to South Korea and now runs a YouTube channel), Pyo Chi Su’s NK accent is spot on. I guess that means he worked hard to learn it. Hope he gets more drama offers after this!

I would expect the boss of a conglomerate and an ex-scammer to do way better than that... How could he trust his sons?? A bit unrealistic... if he could be so scheming in his youth, he should be very sharp and astute... seems gullible now...

P/S: the lack of kiss in this drama is seriously unfathomable! I consider myself a pretty conservative person and during the past episodes I could see why a kiss or bed scene might not be needed. However in those celebratory moments of life (exchanging rings, standing at the bridge confessing love) and our Riri just hold hands and glance at each other? I literally scoff! It really undermines all the chemistry they have built up since NK. A SANE PERSON WOULD KISS IN THAT MOMENT, RI JEONG HYEOK! 

 

P/S 2: Does any one find that soccer watching scene so emotional? To me nothing reunites the citizens and raises the spirit of the nation more than an international football match. My eyes were wet seeing how they were all  in unison rooting for Korea against Japan. It could be a hint about a united Korea in the near future if the writer wants to walk down the fantasy path. It also reflects our writer's subtle wish and of course almost all Koreans to live in a united country.

 

P/S 3: Eum Dong chose a school uniform! I bet he would love to be able to lead a normal life: be with his mom, his sister,  going to school and enjoy some online games after hours. Such luxury that not every one has the opportunity to afford.

 

P/S 4: Pyo Chi Su is my hero tonight! He looks so cool in modern Korean outfit and he is such a badass too! No wonder he is RJH's right arm in the army!

I believe he would be suspicious with Seri being injured and hospitalized. It's too much of a coincidence that she got injured when he asked for her presence.

If he really does trust his 2nd son and daughter-in-law, I can only say that he is turning senile. Those 2 are just beyond conniving.

Oh yes, me! I had a lump in my throat at that scene. It is so poignant in driving home the senselessness of a divided Korea, when they are essentially one people ❤️ Love how a sport against a 'common historical enemy' where pride is at stake unites people together.

after ep 13, i'm afraid i won't be happy with an ending that has them all apart.

@packmule3, thanks for your deep thinking about YSR relationship with her mom. I never think she is not her mother’s biological child. But, what made me do not understand why the mother not show up eventhough we knew that she had been at the beach and watched SR counting numbers.

I hope ep 14 will be the revelation what is SR true relationship to both parents?

I am so shocked. Wow what an episode. It's one of my absolute favourite!!!! It's so beautiful, and at this point I am absolutely in love with our band of brothers+ Se-ri. ... I just can't believe that a kdrama can have such an emotional, touching Family, it's the first time I see supporting characters shining so bright on their own and with the main leads. It's stunning how attached I became to them.I feel like we already started to say goodbye to them since the ending is on the horizon.

 

About the episode... Just wow. It's such a powerful one. It reminded me of Episode 9 in a way, but I think I cried more in this one. Sooo many good moments! Desperate Effort and Tomatos Cultivator reveal themselves, their shopping trip, their goodbye and a promise to their Captain.... Name a few. Idk why, I felt like this was the treasure of this episode - both Seri and Jeong Hyeok's connection to their dearest friends. This is when CLOY is at its strongest. 

 

I absolutely loved the scene of Ju Meok and Choi Ji-woo.. And I just...I ship them??? You don't choose your OTP,  your OTP chooses you, and here I just had to give in. They are cute together, and it's funny and sad at the same time. I find their meeting absolutely adorable, and it's definitely one of the most anticipated moments and the most well-delivered moments.

 

Now that I wrote my love letter to F5, let me talk about our main coulpe..

 

First of all - I am so glad I was wrong about the rings being product placement. I am sorry I doubted you,CLOY! It was a powerful, touching moment, you can see chemistry  ooozing, and it's so intimate, so powerful, I felt like I  didn't belong in Seri's bedroom when JH gave her the ring... It was such a sweet moment. Definitely one of my favourite in the entire kdrama. 

I know I was kinda grumpy when I heard that Seri will be in the hospital, as I thought that we didn't need to escalate the stakes, what we have IS enough, but it was executed SO well.  I was impressed by everything in the final  - the way the scene was shot, the way F4 rushed to Seri, and absolutely incredible acting performance from Hyun Bin. This scene broke my heart in the most beautiful way.

 

And this episode has so many good moments. Shout out to our second leads, I FINALLY am on board with the second leads' ship, but mostly because of our second male lead. (And that has nothing to do with his naked torso!) I find him extremely entertaining and I like the bad boy with the heart of gold type. He is very sweet.

 

The villains. CCG is gone. That was a very satisfying ending for him. When Man Bok shot him, it was so fitting, such an amazing moment for Man Bok, I was really rooting for this character, and hey, I never doubted once that Man Bok would do the right thing. He is under protection of our (almost) married couple. The Evil brother and Sister-in-law. Wow, Seri's family is a bunch of psychos. I Poor Seri... I am glad that at least they were prepared this time. It's kinda ironic that it was JH who warned her about her family, considering that in Episode 3 and Episode 6 he was convincing her that her family cares about her. But  now he's like, nope - they want you dead.

 

I was in tears a lot. But also I laughed a lot. There are so many moments I didn't mention. It's just an overall amazing episode. And it made me feel  incredibly sad that the end is close. It's an amazing journey, and I am glad to be part of it.

 

Also, congratulations the cast and crew on the final day of filming! If it is a journey for a viewer like me - I can't even imagine what it was for them!!!  So many months of harsh deadlines, extremely cold weather work conditions, and many more obstacles that we're not aware of, and it all paid off.  I really wish Son Ye Jin a nice long vacation, so she could rest and recover after such an intense project. And I wish everyone else a nice break! All deserved.

I haven't read your posts and have no time to write anything now especially after THE LAST 5 MINUTES .... omg.  

 

Can someone please just tell me in what scene they think SR and RJH exchange those lines about how she said it is enough for her and then he said there's one thing I didn't say, I love you.  Was this the exchange after the back-hug or on the bridge or...??

Woow what an amazing episode. I just LOVED it.

 

I hope CCK is dead cause I think his ending would be very fitting - the man who he thought was a nobody killed him so unceremoniously. Plus I feel like there is enough to see in the next 3 episodes that I feel like if CCK's story line is prolonged, everything will feel very rushed. Remember, in NK there are still all the people associated with CCK that have to be exposed. And that other military general who wants to oust JH's father will try and take advantage of the fact that JH went to SK and with create a bloodbath in that village and try and make it look like JH defected. So JH has to return to NK with the ducklings to set the scales right. Plus there is the whole succession issue to deal with as well, which I am pretty sure SJ will be a huge part of. I'm sure he'll make his way back to SK and reveal the 2nd oppa's true face to the family. If SH and his wife have audio recordings and pictures, then so does he, SJ is not a con man for nothing. There is enough problems and content to last 3 more episodes without CCK causing more trouble.
