Dong Joo lay unconscious in Nokdu's arms. Then many thugs appeared to fight him. He lays her down on the ground to fight them off. He fought hard, but is severely outnumbered and sustained many knife wounds.

 

Yulmu appears and temporarily stops the fight so that he can take Dong Joo away.

 

Nokdu had to let Yulmu bridal-carry Dong Joo away because he knew she needed immediate medical attention.

 

Vice-curator put up a foolhardy attempt to defend the gisaengs at the gibang, but he's too weak to fight. One of the Virtuous Women Corps members appeared to save the day.

Dong Joo wakes up alone in a room and rushes out.

Nokdu, Ssok and the widows continue fighting in the burning village.

This is so unexpected but I love it:

Nokdu is facing Ssok, Lady Cheon and everyone else who survived. Aeng Du spills the beans because she sees that Nokdu is severely injured and doesn't want him to get blamed. The survivors, including Vice-Curator who faints upon realisation, learn that Nokdu is a male disguised as Widow Kim.

 

Dong Joo arrives and shouts "Nokdu-ya... Nokdu-ya". And they get to exchange a tearful reunion before he spits out blood and collapses in her arms.

 

A lot of violence and anguish in the first 30 minutes today. Brace yourselves...

Lady Cheon is the one who died :bawling:

Dong Joo is in front of the grave now (see spoiler for whose grave). Ssoks vows to avenge the deaths.

Nokdu is severely injured. Dong Joo is nursing him. He wakes up for a brief moment, holds her hand and speaks for a short while, then when he wakes up again, it is....guess who....Vice Curator. Nokdu asks where Dong Joo is now?

 

Nokdu is talking to his master in the grass field. He finds out that

has died, and then resolves to go to Hanyang.

Flashback: Dong Joo tells Master that she needs to go to Hanyang (while Nokdu is resting). Master seems to be withholding some information from Nokdu (at Dong Joo's request).

Skincare parlour is in session! Dong Joo is at work smearing some black paste on her customer's face.

Nokdu, Aeng Du and her father are walking with swag in Hanyang. And all is cool until we see Nokdu's stalker (aka vice-curator) following close behind. This is crazy hilarious. Vice-curator can't let go. All four are having a meal together at some tavern/inn in Hanyang. Aeng Du is eating in every episode LOL. Vice-curator is buying new clothes for the group. And we were fooled by the preview stills:

Nokdu is his dusty pink hanbok was just smiling when making his entrance, but his smile quickly turns into a grimace facing vice-curator. No Dong Joo yet!

Nokdu is reminiscing about Dong Joo at the swing. And then he walks into Gwanghae. Seems that they don't know each other's real identity yet. Nokdu asks Gwanghae how long he'll be sitting on the swing. (Three leads and counting with an obsession/special connection with this swing now.) Gwanghae and Nokdu share a pleasant conversation and Gwanghae asks something about whether they have met before.
