Jillia 193,700
I wonder did this scene happen already? I don't think so right? So we have a bit more coming between Dan Oh and Kyung. I wonder if he will be aware of the fact that he is a comic character and they will finally have a proper talk without the writer putting them back in their roles. nateko 6,158
Hi, everyone! Just finished watching all the episode in one go and I must say this drama is awesome. I usually don't watch dramas that feature a school setting but this one is just so good. As many of you also wonder why the characters suddenly started to become self aware but I think that it just proves that the manhwa writer has some problems with the story and character.s There were many dramas and mangas/manhwas where I was super frustrated with how the story goes or how ridiculous the characters are written that I often cursed the writer for that. So for know, without a better explanation, I just think that the characters here got tired of being mistreated by the writer and thus became self aware, as a protest of sorts. DO was a pitiful character already yet the writer made her like a complete jerk and suffer continuous emotional abuse from him. On top of that the writer made her a meek character that can't speak up when Kyung is being mean. I'd become self aware too if only to kick his richard simmons. As for DH, he too is a completely different person when self aware. Who wants to be a standard second lead with all the ridiculousness involved with it? Kyung is also on the path of becoming self aware. Maybe he too is getting tired of acting like such a jerk. The manhwa writer is doing him dirty without any proper reason (daddy issues don't justify his behaviour). Don't know what Squid Fairy's deal is yet but he must have a story of his own. I really want to know more about Haru and just have him on screen all the time. The dude's face is an artwork, i can't stop staring at him. 6 2 1

Jillia 193,700
Find yourself a man who is saying your name like Ha Ru says "Dan Oh". Credit: dreamingsnowflake2013 I don't know but I think Ha Ru just felt the same as Dan Oh. He thought she would forget him - getting a memory reset from the writer - so everytime she actually approaches him, talking to him, touching him... it must be so special to him. Like he knows he isn't even an extra like Dan Oh but still she remembers him. And she gave him a name... so he becomes more important. But also it means: not only is he changing something for Dan Oh, she is changing things for him as well. I wonder how many times he wanted to approach her or if he ever did or only drew her from afar.
leeminhosny 28,907
This MV is so good (with SF9 song) and song's lyrics are so fit for drama "all around the world I will be searching for you, I 'm sending this message now my echo, waited so long, hope you feel the same with me, cause my echo, i breathe in, i breathe out, until my breath runs out running I m running until I stay next to you babe." And Rowoon's part "wherever whenever my story will be still here , wherever whenever I can begin again with you" Now I am waiting OST from SF9 so we can hear Rowoon's beautiful voice in drama too
sandjh 7,147
I watched the last episode again and the scene where BK starts pushing Haru into the bookshelf is actually actually part of the stage and a scene where the writer intended it. So the story is actually changing, but maybe the 'fate' of each character will still be the same as intended by the writer? I read a comment here about Haru and DO being from another comic...and I think this is true too. They are probably originally from a comic set back in a much older/historical time and that green/black hole has something to do with it 4
yoondonggu 135
It's so refreshing to have such a self-referential drama on air, defying all the usual tropes and cliche. I don't think that there are meta kdramas (maybe only W?) like this (constantly breaking the 4th wall), if there are, do recommend, I am dying for more. When reading the forum, the theory that Dan-Oh and Haru, belong to another story (hence the many flashbacks to saguek references), but repurposed for another story, reminded me of Doki Doki Literature Club. But hopefully here, they will have a happy (not a bloody ending like in that video game), because the Dried Squid Fairy has forebode for something darker, even in the webtoon. I went to read the webtoon, whatever has been subbed, the drama is moving very fast, already breezed through 18 out of 60 chapters. I wonder if the drama script writer will be kinder than the webtoon writer. P.S. Kim Hye Yoon is really hard-carrying the drama. Really glad that she has levelled up to lead level. Prior to Sky Castle, she only had minor roles.

adibadiba 467
A new fan here! I initially watched the drama to support Hye Yoon because with her acting skills she deserves to be a main lead. She was in minor roles before just because she wanted to focus on her study (I read somewhere that she got a scholarship for her undergrad). I'm super glad that she took this role! And now I'm hooked on this drama because of the plot, characters, and everything about it! It is torturing me to wait for next episodes Need help here! Do you think the last scene between DO and BK is a stage or shadow? I kept thinking it is a stage but then how come Haru came and punched BK? And about the bleeding Haru, it is because several books fell down and hit him on the forehead. It was not shown but I believe that was what the director wanted us to think. Anyway, keep on posting. I love reading your comments, at least they sustain me for Wednesday to come
chubbz 2,357
Just caught up to episode 8. A few things I noted, some of which I hope will be addressed (or connection will be seen) later in the show. Jinmichae definitely recognizes or knows Haru, when he saw him at the courtyard from the library. But how and from where is an unknown for now. I like the fact that the boys wear pink and the girls wear blue, exactly opposite from the usual societal norm colors. I wonder if it was an intentional choice. BK is actually a nicer person in the shadows than on stage. His jerk persona is “scripted” and spills over to the shadow, but his slightly nicer side sometimes surfaces in the shadow, which I feel could be a foretelling of his possible “awakening” e.g. he bothered to ask DO where she went and that he was concerned about her heart, the day after the original stage, (which was changed by Haru) when he was in the shadows, and then DH came to ask about the previous night, and BK realized something was off. It’s fun to see the friendship between DO and DH. The way they sometimes observe the other on stage while they are in the shadows is quite amusing. Since Haru is an extra without even a name, he probably doesn’t have a family nor a home. Does he then live in the school and the corner in the library (which is likely a part of the shadows) thus becomes his special hiding place, allowing him to put up DO’s portraits?
Deltay 304
I noticed one more thing...if u see the cover of secret ,u can never guess it is a light romance novel...its too dark and mysterious as a cover for love novel isn't it? The cover looks really like a historical novel (kind off..) Somehow that makes me feel that the story is changing but its meant to be that way.. Also that black hole could be the portal to the novel haru and danoh were leads in and which had a sad ending... My guesses are going wild now..

I kept thinking it is a stage but then how come Haru came and punched BK? Welcome and sorry to cut your post! I guess maybe because Ha Ru is not even an important extra he got a lot freedom what he can do and what not. But we definitely need more information to figure out what he is actually aware of and what he is able to do. I think the writer would set it back if she/he wouldn't want the story to go. Mabye there is a thought process going on and the writer starts to realize Ha Ru is actually and interesting character. When you write sometimes without knowing how a character which was supposed to play a minor role suddenly becomes more interesting. Hence why I'm always wondering if it's actually Dan Oh and Ha Ru deciding things OR if the writer becomes aware that these two should have their own story. 1 hour ago, chubbz said: Just caught up to episode 8. Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. He was actually unsettled by Ha Ru being there and wasn't happy. I think someone said it... Jinmichae gives off villain vibes. But we don't have enough informations about him to judge him yet. 2. I like that as well! 3. I thought so as well. Now with Dan Oh always questioning her on stage lines and behavior - maybe Kyung and many character think the same. I could imagine that Kyung would be a nice boy to get along with and hates to be the jerk just like Joo Da probably hates to be the damsel in distress as the female lead. I really hope we see more off stage character developement and Kyung rioting against what kind of person he is on stage. 4. I want them to be best friends tbh. I love that Dan Oh is trying to support Do Hwa and for him to get the girl but in the end the writer doesn't care. 5. I think Ha Ru lives in the library or school overall. But then... what about all the other extras? They go somewhere. But he is a exceptions for anything at the moment, soooo....

They technically don't belong here so maybe that's why one stays in the kitchen while the other in the library. The way Jinmichae continues to say that it's impossible to change what the writer has in mind makes me think that he failed to do it, and the only way to save himself and get rid of the writer's influence was to run away through the black whole to another manhwa. Maybe Haru is like that too.
