Plot

The drama will expose the dark side of society and tell the story of a “doctor detective” uncovering the truth and reasons behind people who have become ill in society.

Do Joong-Eun (Park Jin Hee) works as an industrial health doctor. She partners with Doctor Heo Min-Ki (Bong Tae Gyu) to uncover the truth related to industrial accidents, diseases and other incidents that take place at industrial sites.

Do Joong-Eun seeks out the truth which the TL Group wants to cover up.

Character descriptions

 

Choi Tae Young (Lee Ki Woo), a third-generation chaebol and an heir of TG group, is talented but has no energy nor ambition, and he only longs for his past life of freedom. He is also the ex-husband of Do Jung Eun (Park Jin Hee) who divorced him following a mistake of having an extramarital affair. As a result, he is more interested in winning back Do Jung Eun’s heart than being the head of his company, TG.

 

Do Jung Eun (Park Jin Hee) is a genius occupational medicine specialist with an exceptional ability to concentrate, but her ingenuity isn’t the only thing that helped her earn the title.

Actors Park Jin-hee and Bong Tae-gyu will re-open at the <Doctor Detective>, which will air on SBS <Return>, which last year was closed in January, and on the same channel in July.

SBS announced on the 22nd that Park Jinhee, Bong Tae Gyu, and Lee Ki Woo will appear in the new drama "Doctor Detective".

Dr. Detective is a sociable drama about the contents of solving social absurdities.

Park Jin-hee is a professor of professional medicine with a genius, while Bong Tae-gyu seems to be full of vigor, but he plays Huh Min-ki who is trying to get revenge for his father's death.

It seams that there is a chance in the broadcast time slot. First it was announced that Dr Detective will be broadcast after Secret Boutique in August. Now, the recent article says that it will air after <I love you in the beginning>in July. Let see when VIP (the other SBS drama who was supposted to air in that time slot) will be schreduled.

It has been a while since KBS's "Miracle That We Met", and Kim Hyun-joo might be making her return to Dramaland this summer. The actor has received an offer for SBS's upcoming social justice drama, "Doctor Detective", which aims to passionately tackle social unfairness.

Kim Hyun-joo has been offered the leading role, and she is positively considering it, although nothing has been decided yet. Premise information beyond this is scarce at this point, but if the title is anything to go by, we either get a crime fighting duo of a doctor and a detective, or a doctor and detective tackling the disease of society.

On March 6, TVReport reported that Lee Ki Woo had been cast in the upcoming SBS drama “Doctor Detective” (literal translation).

Lee Ki Woo’s agency, Outer Korea, responded to the reports by saying, “He is still in talks for the drama. Nothing has been confirmed yet.”

“Doctor Detective” is a drama that aims to expose the dark side of society by shining a light on social irregularities. It is the first drama from the producing director (Park Joon Woo) and writer (Song Yoon Hee) of the educational/cultural show “The Its Know.”

Actress Kim Hyun Joo has reportedly been cast in the role of the female lead, Joong Eun Yi.

If Lee Ki Woo takes the role, he will be playing a third-generation chaebol heir, Choi Tae Young. He is talented but has no energy or ambition and longs only for his past life of freedom. He was previously married to Joong Eun Yi, but they got divorced due to misunderstandings about an extramarital affair. The three confirmed their appearances in SBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Doctor Detective” (literal translation). The drama will expose the dark side of society and tell the story of a “doctor detective” uncovering the truth and reasons behind people who have become ill in society.

Lee Ki Woo is confirmed for the role of Choi Tae Young, a third-generation chaebol and an heir of TG group. He is talented but has no energy nor ambition, and he only longs for his past life of freedom. The cast for SBS’s upcoming drama Doctor Detective is taking shape, and Ryu Hyun-kyung (Happy to Die) has just been confirmed as the show’s female lead.

She’ll be joining Lee Ki-woo (Fate and Wrath) as they play a pair of chaebol siblings who handle their privilege in different ways. Ryu will be playing the titular “doctor detective” and the drama will take aim at society through the lens of healthcare. Though death is a natural part of life, it’s not natural for another person to decide who lives and who dies. If society itself is ailing, the way forward may not be treatment but prevention. Ryu Hyun-kyung’s character will do her best to treat an ailing society by using her medical and investigative skills to bring light to the absurd fact that there are still people who die from easily prevented diseases.

Ryu Hyun-kyung’s not really a people person–she prefers spending time with her microscope looking at cells over hanging out with humans. Interestingly, even though she has an older brother, she was considered the clear successor to the family company. Though she could have been the heir to the chaebol throne, she decided to study medicine instead.

Japanese Actress Fujii Mina Cast In New Drama Alongside Lee Ki Woo And Park Jin Hee

Japanese actress Fujii Mina, who recently signed a contract with the Korean agency O.N. Worldwide, has been cast in the upcoming SBS drama “Doctor Detective” (literal title)!

The actress will be joining actors Lee Ki Woo, Park Jin Hee, and Bong Tae Gyu as the character Seok Jin Yi, a team leader at a center for unknown diseases called the UDC. Jin Yi is an incredibly intelligent character, already having completed a master’s and doctoral degree at a young age, and will play a pivotal role in the various cases that the drama characters are faced with.

Kwak Dong Yeon To Make Special Appearance In 1st Episode Of “Doctor Detective”

Kwak Dong Yeon will be making a special appearance on the premiere of the upcoming SBS drama “Doctor Detective.”

“Doctor Detective” is a medical investigative drama that will expose the dark side of society and tell the story of a “doctor detective” uncovering the truth and reasons behind people who have become ill in society. This will be the first drama directed by PD (producing director) Park Joon Woo from the investigation show “Unanswered Questions” (also referred to as “The Its Know.”) Lee Ki Woo, Park Jin Hee, and Bong Tae Gyu have recently been confirmed for the drama.

Kwak Dong Yeon will be taking on the role of Jung Ha Rang, a platform screen door service engineer who’s graduated from a technical high school. Jung Ha Rang is a hardworking young laborer who is an employee of TL Metro’s subcontractor, but he has hopes of becoming a full-time employee at a large company as his current company will soon be taken over.

Jung Ha Rang also is full of humanity as he’s a filial son who wants to lessen his mother’s burden by quickly becoming a full-time employee, even though he constantly bickers with her. Another focus point of the premiere will be his chemistry with Do Jung Eun (played by Park Jin Hee) who understands, sincerely worries for, and supports Jung Ha Rang.

First teaser trailers for SBS drama series “Doctor Detective” / Kwak Dong-Yeon to make cameo appearance

First two teaser trailers added for SBS drama series “Doctor Detective” starring Park Jin-Hee, Bong Tae-Gyu and Lee Ki-Woo. In teaser 1, around the 13 second mark, a man asks “Is your workplace safe?” The drama series follows doctor who investigate industrial accidents. Meanwhile, actor Kwak Dong-Yeon will make a cameo appearance in the drama series. For his cameo appearance he will play Jung Ha-Rang. He works as a repairman of a screen door in the subway.

“Doctor Detective” first airs July 17, 2019 in South Korea.
