[Drama 2019] Hotel Del Luna, 호텔 델루나

On the matter of ManWeol’s status as human or spirit — until I read the interview with the Hong sisters, it actually seemed like she was actually a human in stasis because in the flashbacks, it was never shown (nor was there any indication) that she had died. Even in an interview of IU and Jingoo, IU said that ManWeol is human. But now that the writers have spoken, then it makes absolutely good sense that the ending was how it was. There was just no humanly possible way (excuse the pun) that they could have grown old together, as exemplified by Hyunjoong’s relationship with his sister as he waited to pass to the afterlife with her.

I’m still wondering about the favour Yuna supposedly got from Mago for Hyunjoong though. What was it? Can anyone explain?

As regards the answer to Chanseong’s question to Mago in why she had chosen him to send ManWeol off — was it as simple as their first meeting in their past lives 1300 years ago?

In the end, the gods (and writers) did not seem to like CS at all. His fate was by far the worst of the lot.

I kinda felt that too. I know the drama is centered around MW but I wish they could have given his character more depth, not that he's not perfect already but they could have elaborated or given a lot more essence to his character aside from MW's subject of affection and the person who will teach her to forgive and love again.

Is it even necessary celebrities to have a degree in Korea? Hmmm...

-----'

Thanks for c drama, will check out the reviews before embarking on one... im just out kdrama to watch after the end of designated survivor and HDL... sigh

I think Koreans highly regard education  too so even celebs or idols still try to get a degree.

Am just catching on these Cdramas while waiting for next week for my next Kdrama...he he..

Ah.. thanks for brining up sueng-gi up... one of my fav k-entertainment actor :) .... i didnt even know he has 2 Masters degree, haha...

Lol...I just watched a video of Korean celebs with degrees since Lee Seunggi was one of them. I was watching some clips of Master of the House and I suddenly remembered what degree he took..ha ha. Not really a fan of LSG but watching him in his variety shows currently, I think I'm slowly leaning to becoming one. And for sure, you'll be watching Vagabond then?^^ Coz I'm in that thread :D.

I had no idea that YJG had such a big FC in Thailand. It's so funny that you guys picked up "Tangmo Paan" but I highly recommend it to everyone if you guys come to BKK.

Oh right, you were the one from Thailand, right?...ha ha..I did visit Bangkok with my colleagues in 2016, iirc. I don't think I've tried that one yet^^. So are you Thai, btw?

@Ellander88 Aww, I hope you are totally okay now^^. Himnaeyo~!

It's a farewell video and they're standing so close. Too close. At the press con, IU wasn't even planning on linking her arm with YJG. Hahaha

Ha ha ha..true. But at least now, we can see how their relationship offcam have grown as well.

Great to know all of them could attend the reward vacation.... why is it always Thailand i wonder? Even WWWSK, it was in Thailand... hmmm...

I know, right?... ha ha..maybe because it's cheaper. Sometimes here in my country too..they always like to go to Cebu^^. Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung's drama cast went here for their reward vacation too. It's a very famous place for Koreans...hehe. And here I thought they'll come here ^^.

@realistic2280a As a Thai person, I feel I must say it's because we have the best of everything here, especially the food. (^.^) I hope they will enjoy their visit to Thailand although it's been rainy every day and not ideal time for visiting our islands/beaches. The cost of living here isn't as cheap as before - it's increasing fast and I've been here for 13 years now.

Oh actually, you know the scene when that ghost stabbed MW and she didn't die and displayed her powers - that's when I felt 100% that she was a ghost too.

@gilaswan.... hence it was NOT explained properly...

I remember IU saying she was human, never a ghost, in an interview.... and then CS being such a nice boy even 1300 years ago, never get what he deserved.

So im not sure what fate these two have, for the writers to separate them just for the fun of it, and to make fans mad as the promise of good deed equals good reincarnation never really happened for these two?...... i dont know...

Definately Not for CS apparently.. He has to slave, god knows how many centuries more before he gets his happy ending... hahaha ******bitter laugh for CS*.....

@lightbringer06 Yes, definately will be watching Vegabond, will be in the thread when the drama stars, hehe... i have been trying to download some dramas but not sure which ones to watch. i dont want to waste data if the drama is boring, hence reviews are important for, or else i would waste a lot of time watching it, hahha...

@stella77 - Swadeecapp? Haha.. i have been to bangkok several times but not in the last 18 months? i think...  Good food, love the night market at Pratunam, love the fruits but always get annoyed with the taxis which never want to use meter (esp those who takes it at Siam Paragon)... plan to visit Bangkok next year but never in July, its so hot that i nearly melted the last time i was there... hahha

Oh I am happy to know that many of you have visited Thailand before!! Yes, it is raining lightly now even as I type in Bangkok. Also mini-Thai lesson. Because I don't know your gender - the ending suffix 'ka' and 'kap' added on to the end of anything will make your Thai more formal and polite.

Hello: Sawatdee - ka  or Thank you: Kob khun - ka (is when the speaker is a woman)

Hello: Sawatdee - kap or Thank you: Kob khun - kap  (is when the speaker is a man)

I will keep an eye out for the HDL news in Thai media but I'm probably behind all the high-hard fans.

Oh sorry! So "sawatdee ka!" for you, right? And yeah, all the photos and videos will show up everywhere online anyway.  Sometimes I'm amazed how fans get info so fast, but I'm not complaining.

Uri ManChan couple are both wearing glasses at the airport. They're so cute.

@nastyacolors00 ..yay~ thanks for the clips. I am just so happy all of the cast are able to attend. How about MiRa and YeonWoo? Now, I wonder how the seating arrangement would be in the plane ..

@stella77 ha ha...I did learn about the male and female speech when I went there. Since it's quite the same with Japanese where there's a difference in their speeches too. I just learned how to say hello and thank you and that's enough when we were there in Bangkok :joy:

I spot IU's bodyguard :D

In Thai, the 'ka' or 'kap' ending is determined by the speaker's gender (not who you are talking to). So for me, a woman, I have to add 'ka' to the ending of everything when I am being polite and using formal speech.  I also happened to know Japanese and it's not the same (Japanese changes depending on who you are speaking to and the situation etc.)

Hi, sorry this is out-of-topic....

But why is it that there are no Eng subs for Thai dramas.... I 've been wanting to watch so many Lakorns....but i cannot find any subbed versions at all.

Yeah, you can also see him cause he's tall and he's kinda good looking. It's on IG and Twitter. Just search #HotelDelLuna hashtag. The bodyguard looks like the type for thirsty moms and aunties.
