[Drama 2019] Hotel Del Luna, 호텔 델루나

The backstory of Man Weol starts to get more and more intresting....I guess it's no suprise at this point but i'm starting more and more to think CM had a very active involvement in the tragedy that happened back then...Now i'm curious if he used MW  to catch her or the Princess found out and ambushed MW and her gang and killed her companions before her wedding...Curious if MW killed The Princess back then and robbed her wedding dress and went and killed CM in the wedding night for revenge...MW is trully a sad and tortured character, even more when she lives with the pain stuck in time just like her body unable to trully forget...No wonder she has sooo much guilt if her companions died because of her infatuation with CM...Now,i'm curious how much of a good guy CM actually is...I mean, from that preview when he was smilling on his wedding day he didn't look sad at all to me but hey it was just a frame moment... One think for sure is that MW meeting the present day Mi Ra is the Deities test for her and not just random....

9 minutes into the subbed episode, I don't like what the 4th crone said that MW's ill-fated relationship is repeated in this life.

Dang!

$@%%#@%%!!!

I don't want CS to be anybody's reincarnation.

Gosh!

The fourth crone said MW will be filled with a lot of hatred, and very much anticipating for MW to walk through her door instead of the 1st crone's door. Kinda spiteful one I bet that 4th crone. No empathy for the departing soul, treating them like a thing that must be banished. Hmmpphhh!

So, next episode, the child CS hug must be almost be harmed by MW then.

Sobbbbssss! :bawling:

The child is more likely the young Mi Ra..From that pic in the preview,Man Wol created an amusament Park resembeling the one Mi Ra and her family went, more likely before going broke and used it to trap her there...i bet CS tries to prevent MW from sinning and loosing her chance at being forgiven by the Deities(as it is clearly a test)

Even if CS is the guard's reincarnation(the most possible) it doesn't mean by default he is the same person because that is impossible...I guess Ma Go bringing him now to try and heal MW is also a way for redemption for whatever happened back there, doubt he is guilt free himself for that tragedy...

The Death Deity is indeed spiteful but in some way it makes sense from their standpoint as they are bystander and doesn't really take sides or being swayed by human emotions...She punished the soul that killed people for the sole fact that it isin't allowed to kill and punished that man as well for his sin so i guess in her book she was quite karmic...Yeah,thinking the background of the poor girl that died like that sound unfair but she had the choice to free herself of all that evil yet she choose to walk into the dark side...Gods are trully impartial and black and white, our reasoning doesn't apply to them(a human life is that even if it's a good or rotton one and taking it is a sin)

I have yet to watch the subbed version of ep 7, but with that kind of ending, I can't wait for ep 8. I really hope the flashback scene to MW past will be shown fully in ep 8.. I think I'm going crazy overthinking about many theories.

From what I watched, CS has yet to pour salt to his body after being hit one of the ghost who were fighting in ep 7. The one that he pour when he arrived are sugar. Will that wound affect something? In the preview CS collapsed while holding his left chest, which has been hit before.

Note Pouring salt means to keep the evil away or also can be used to chase the (evil) ghost/spirit away. Some examples can be find in some dramas, when a shaman try to chase away evil spirit with salt or angry characters who hit someone with salt when they are so furious.

Lol @Ameera Ali i laughed so hard when she claimed it as her money. I had the same thought as CS: How is that your money? :joy:

So we definitely got a lot more of the past. The princess seemed to have been quite involved. Now I cannot help but wonder if FG was just a matter of circumstances or did he really betray MW.

But for now, i need this. @Liting1 i am with you!

Lol. I feel like every episode gives me a new theory!

But I am wondering the same thing about the salt thing. He even clutched his chest when dark Mago destroyed ghost 13. I suddenly had this thought that perhaps he will begin to resent the dieties for the way they choose to deal with ghosts. CS is a person with a just mentality. He doesn’t support the wrong from right. But since he has been at HDL, he has been given new insights behind why a ghost does the thing he/she do. It was stated that CS was hit with the grudge of a ghost. Can it be that in the future, that grudge will become influenced by evil? We don’t even know for sure if he found salt. And in the preview, he clutched onto his chest and seemed to have fainted.

I was reading that salt part in the recap of Dramamilk and I really find it funny just by reading it...when Sanchez realized CS poured sugar onto himself instead of salt :D...can't wait to watch it~!

My bosses practice pouring salt actually...I think it's an Asian thing. They even recommended to us, if you're stressed, you can wash your face with water and salt, just to wash away negative energy. Or make a charm out of salt as well.

Oh, I was wondering who would that child be and why would MW be so heartless to harm her. Your explanation connect the dots then.

I didn't realize anything about the pic in the preview.

I didn't meant that I don't want CS to be CM's reincarnation because he will be the same person as in the past.

But rather, I would like CS to be an independent entity of his own without linking him to anyone from MW's past.

And that, MaGo choosing him perhaps because she saw the kind of heart CS has, the sincere, honest, kind heart that doesn't discriminate. Mago probably knew that when CS learned all about MW's in the past, he would embrace MW rather than distancing himself from her.

Maybe reincarnation theme has been recycled so many times in Kdrama that makes many of us rather hesitant to accept the repetition. Hehe. :grimace: Also, it is kind of unexpected from Hong Sisters as they (I think) never incorporate reincarnation in their fantasy drama so far. Of course, reincarnation didn't fit into any of their drama's plot before this.

Well, I guess Hong Sisters is going to the reincarnation road it seems this time. (Still hoping not)

Yeah, I understand that being the deity, she was just being impartial for this whole episode. :)

However, my post above was for the dialogue she had with the Grim Reaper in the first 9 minutes.

I was pointing out how she argues and despises the existent of del Luna to comfort the soul of those departing, who still has unfinished business. Questioning her eldest sister decision to make such a place exist as the souls' transit place. I am commenting based on this drama's context. She is a spiteful deity who just want to send away those soul quickly to afterlife without emphatizing about the souls' regrets and unfinished business, whereas the first deity is a merciful one who want to send off those souls fulfilled without any regrets, depart happily to the afterlife.

@lightbringer06 Yeah, salt is used a lot in Asian culture for warding off evil spirit or bad luck, apart from culinary. Hahaha.. But usually not the seasoning salt though, instead we use coarse or rock salt for that kind of purpose. Hahaha. That sugar twist was so hilarious! :joy:

Talking about that grudge hitting CS, I think maybe that's where the second MaGo's potion will come into use? Hmmm... For preventing CS from getting killed by evil spirit? The one mentioned in his character description? The vengeful spirit of his friend? Who would it be? Mira? Sanchez?

Another possibility, I hope it would not be MW though.

Suddenly I have a bad feeling that the "stamina" that he will need mentioned by the 2nd MaGo was actually to hold down MW when she is turning evil towards the end of the drama? Phewwwww... We are just half-way through this week, another second half to go. I can't imagine what else the writers have up their sleeves.

OMO!!! I knew it that Lee Mi Ra is the princess in the past. She was probably evil or fighting with JMW for the Captain.

I don't know, I haven't watched it, but only seen clips.

I'm dying to see the episode and see what happens, but I'm going to wait for tomorrow's episodes, too, so I won't be bothered all night waiting for the new episode to come out.

Watched it with subs! My fave/notable parts:

Spoiler

- Chansung making "It's beautiful. I'm sad now" a thing.
- Also Chansung coming through with all these date ideas like a good husband.
- Also Chansung actually following through with selling Man Wol's cars. She really must like him to let him get away with it.
- Sanchez managing to be both perceptive (about Chansung's feelings for Man Wol) and oblivious (telling Chansung's ex he went out on a date) at the same time
- Man Wol being utterly unafraid in the face of final bad dude's male condescension and aggression. I loved that. I think it's rare to see that in K-dramas, because women are rarely written to be in such a position of power over the men.
- Is there a website/account that keeps a tally of how many outfits Man Wol wears in an episode? There probably should be, the data would be interesting.
- Man Wol saying to Chansung at the end that he'll find out how horrible she really is. IU's acting...*chef kiss*. I felt that.

Ahahah Sanchez knows somethin':phew: he thinks Chan-Sung likes Man-Weol:wub:

That was disgusting how that man wanted to view porn in front of his wife & daughter! It's sad too what happened to Ga-Young, well at least justice was served.

The Red dress was simply stunning, and Man-Weol's hair changes in length LoL:P I adored that scene where Hyun-Joong swooped in to save Yoon-Ah...although it appears his end is near :tears:  So Mi-Ra's the reincarnation of the Princess in Man-Weol's previous life..

I noticed the uneven foundation applied on the actress it made her face so ghastly white it was...kind of creepy:huh::blink: Like it didn't match her neck yikes. The ghost couple was hilarious!

I think I solved the mystery of Man Wol.

You can see in that robbery scene the princess and the general was looking at each other with a love. General was actually that princess lover. After that incident she sent him to get into Man Wol crew and make MW think he loves her. He acted like he has a feelings for her while he was the princess lover. When you think deeply a general goes behind a thief and suddenly be friend with her, seduce her with a lovely words..why??..so fast..he played with her. I think Man Wol is learning general is the princess lover and they are getting married. She get jealous and angry and tries to kill her but cant manage it..after that Princess kill MW's best friend Yon Woo to punish her. and Man Wol is actually waiting Yon Woo not the general coz she still feel so much guilty. He died coz her stupid mistake and I really think Chan Seung is reincarnation of Yon Woo. that is why he destined to met with reincarnated princess, to hate her but bring her to Man Wol years later. By this way Man Wol would kill the princess and can go to hell..It is the Man Go's plan. ;)

For me I think she didn’t get jealous :phew: but she thought he betrayed her , because the princess killed her best friend while trying to kill man wol  ( the princess is obsessed type I think she tried to nominate Man Wol from the picture but friend died insteadso I think man wol did what she know best  ( take revenge ) & disguised as a bride to kill him because he was getting married to the person who killed her friend & hurt her the most  & maybe the princess didn’t die the first time now she will try to end it once & for all .
