I agree that we are still in the dark on SJ's character reversal.  He seems to have a kind heart in many instances, and yet he is so cruel to JS.  What gives?  Dramamilk's recap says that on the roof in the rain, SJ moves toward Yuri first.  PR director asks him how could he do that to JS, and SJ says that "you said that being a little bit bad is worse than super bad. It is better for Jung-sun if I make it that way."  I think in some crazy way he is trying to protect her by driving her away from him.  He may be in some really bad legal trouble with the VP.  Otherwise, I agree that SJ is a really poorly written character.  Maybe he is hiding some really bigger secret, and doesn't want JS dragged down with him.

By the end of EP13, I REALLY don't want a happy ending for YR and SJ. JS keeps referring them as DIRTY and it really suits them. I can't remember the last time I've been so mad over kdrama.

At first, YR sent the message because she is jealous of JS personality and competency and also the fact that there is nothing between her and SJ anymore as they were broken up. She said she felt regret after receiving nothing but kindness from JS when she entered the team but I really cannot believe that because everything she did does not show that she is regretting at all. She just want what she wants and one of it is SJ. All her talk on the rooftop trying to reason with JS for what she did is just sickening. Just like what the VP's wife said to her, YR might get high position at the office due to VP but how can she climbed up to JS reputation that JS built by working hard by herself, not relying to her superior.

I have many things to say about SJ but I can't really get it out. I really can't comprehend what he is trying to do and justify all the things he did. I really want to understand him but I don't think that I am capable to with all that was shown about him up to this point. The rooftop scene and the car scene between him and JH seal the deal that I don't want any happy ending for him. It is never better to be full on evil rather than half evil. You're evil when you start being evil. That's it.

JS really step up her game this episode. She doesn't go full on berserk doing stupid things or exposing SJ to the public. She keeps her dignity and professionalism. Those small moments where SW try to cheer/help her just show how much her subordinate care and respect her. As far as I know, JS does not know that SW knows about things between SJ and YR. She also never outright exposing both SJ and YR except during that lunch meeting with VP. Now, JS starts to play fair with her strength and competency, coming up with her own project plan because she has been sidestepped, VP, SJ and YR will never stand a chance. SJ reputation as the youngest director will crumble plus he never really deserved the promotion he got because he got it through cleaning up VP's mess while JS will climb up with  her own sheer determination and hard work.

Shoutout to the side couples HA & JH and MN & BH because they resolve their differences by talking and trying to understand each other. Major props to BH's growth, from someone who try to escape from taking care of his children to someone who consider resigning to become house husband because he does not want MN to sacrifice her career just shows how much his love for MN is. Scenes of both HA & JH and MN & BH managed to lighten the intense mood in EP13 without downplaying their issues.

Based on the preview of EP14, YR described SJ just like how JS described SJ when they first work together. Someone that is kind and warmhearted. I hope that SJ will leave YR just like how SJ leave JS because I want YR to experience what JS experienced. Or maybe something a whole lot worse such as being labelled as homewrecker by everyone in the company that nothing VP can do to salvage her image. SJ, you do not deserve that longing face when you sees someone else care for SJ. She deserves all the care she receives and you have never been there for her. You just simply do not deserve her anymore.

Somehow i hope that the whole VIP team, lead by JS, leave Sung Un, set up their own company and freelancing to cater the needs of the VIPs, with support by Tifone and SW's father. This way, they don't have to face injustice and can be promoted with their own capabilities and merit. No dirty office politic play. B)

This is such a fantastic and insightful post  I absolutely agree with everything you said!

This situation is jacked and I’d be lying if I said I knew why SJ is doing all this; but I still believe there was no affair and he loves his wife. Not saying or doing things says a lot. Mans faking with YR. Maybe there’s some inner work conspiracy between him and VP, maybe YR is a mistress disguised as a daughter, maybe JS life is on the line or maybe SJ is a government super spy on some secret mission from the blue house. Or it’s none of the above. I don’t know but something just don’t feel right about it all. SJ is not in love with YR. This ain’t an affair or just an affair. He hesitated. His eyes were all on JS and he hesitated as if having some kind of inner debate, then he turned. Nope. Something just ain’t right.

My biggest take away from this drama...looks are deceiving. Things aren’t what they always seem. What you think you know, may not be what you truly know/is going on. Don’t jump to conclusions. Your guts and instincts at times lie to you. If you aren’t prepared to hear the answer or just plain old listen, don’t even ask the question. Sometimes a loss is not a loss nor a win a win. It’s okay to just walk away. A well earned slap that’s given is so satisfying.

That's what I thought too!  That SJ is trying to drive JS away from him and not necessarily that he is choosing to be with YR (kind of like a noble idiocy thing!).  I realized that the actress that plays YR is the same one that caused the second couple in Fight For My Way to break up too!.  She plays the "other woman" too well!

I just read the summary for episode 13 and SJ finally gave in to staying with YR for the night? So if he hasn't crossed the physical line to constitute as a physical affair looks like he is going to that tonight?!!!!

Sorry for multiple posts today.  As you see,  I'm frantic as more and more details of episode 13 are released. Lol

So happy for JS and CEO collaboration though! Woot woot

im agree with you...it seem sj try to push away njs...what make me feel it like that because in the preview when vp know that BLack society (BS) is actually njs idea, VP said to PSJ if njs still like that, i cant help you anymore....what he means by cant help you anymore? then we saw/heard during sj njs confrontation in meeting room, sj said to njs i might do revenge to you...it is like he try harder to push her away by making himself as bad as evil

in previous episode SJ beg VP to cancel njs transfer to ulsan, when VP cancel it he said i already gave you the answer so now it is your time to give me your answer? what he means?

when njs slap him, sj staring at njs look so sad...and when njs was trapped in rooftop he also worried and showed more worries after msw said it must be cold outside...at that time i assumed sj didnt know that yuri is with njs in rooftop. SJ moved to yuri in rooftop scene because he saw msw move to njs first (after msw look at him like said what the hell? why you stop and just stand like that. your wife is getting cold...LOL. sorry for my interpretation).

i prefer he had something bad behind this than he had terminal illness that made him push away his wife. sorry i just remember JNR other drama FTLY...LoL

I so want to agree with you. I am devastated by what I have read and seen so far. I have not seen the actual episode as yet.

Do you mind if I borrow you husband @MrsSoJiSub? I think we need him to ride in on his white horse.

BTW, watched “The Battleship Island” and it was so good. He did an excellent job as always.

I feel SJ is actually "in love" with VP hehehe, his stairway to secure the job promotion???

:lol:The VP is definitely SJ's true love!  I've said it before but he is much more attentive and faithful to the VP than he ever was to his actual wife.

I also am baffled by Lee Sang Yoon's  monotonous expression. I think it's either a deliberate directing choice or simply bad acting. LSJ's default expression for anything and everything is  and Yuri ust mouth breaths in every scene :open_mouth: if she isn't crying. It's compounded by the fact the actors have zero chemistry.  They are repellant to watch onscreen together.

The K-netz comments about LSY's acting as Sung Jun are hilarious:lol::lol::lol:

[+1955, -35] Disgusting cheating couple.. I come to know Lee Sang Yoon as an interesting actor who expresses various emotions with just one expression. Unlimited! The two women cause a fuss wanting to slap each other because of him, and his acting when he looks on like it is other people’s business. He is really bad at acting.

[+2766, -75] At first many said it could not be an affair after watching Lee Sang Yoon’s mysterious acting. Now it is not poker face, it is just bad acting. To know how Park Seong Joon thinks, you have to understand the script, not Lee Sang Yoon’s acting. His expression did not change whether he had an affair, when he was caught for having an affair, when he was working. An actor with one expression for sympathy, affection and anger.

I was drawn to  this drama because of actor LSG. I watch Master in the House because of LSG. I loved him in "on the way to the airport", and watched "Second Twenties", "About Time", and "Angel Eyes" because of him.  An actor is only as good as script and director.  "About Time" was a poor script and I didn't think he and the actress had good chemistry in "Angel Eyes". but I still liked him.  After VIP, I will follow Jang Na Ra because she is a brilliant actress. I forgot she was in "Fated to Love You" with Jang Hyuk, who I also love.  This writer seems to be pretty good, so I will give her/him the benefit of the doubt until the end.  Let's hope we will all get closure and are dumbfounded by how brilliant the ending is!

Just watched Ep13 with english subtitle. I am not sure if other soompiers said something about this but I got a vibe that SJ just want to protect YR because YR is sort of in the same position as his mother. Based on the flashback, it seems that SJ and his mother received harsh treatment from his father’s wife and children. We know that his mother was a mistress and  it seems like his father did not divorce his wife. He knows what his mother went through after being labelled as mistress, that is why he cannot leave YR after JS knows about YR. He realised that he made a mistake and tried to stop, but when he knows that JS knew about the affair, he is becoming more protective of YR. So, rather than SJ being protective because they have the same background, he feels responsible to protect YR from backlash she will receive and stay with her for support. Plus YR keeps clinging/crying/begging to him really makes him believe that YR needs him more than JS.

Just my two cents though. I really need to sleep now. :sleepy:

Omgoodness the preview for tomorrow night. I can’t believe that nasty wench YR is already talking about SJ being her future husband. She is sickening. Then SJ mother finding out what has happened and saying you don’t know what you’ve lost. I can’t see her accepting YR into the family. SJ already said how much his mother has suffered with anxiety and can’t sleep and he’s going to do this to her. YR and JS and VP all need to get dragged through the mud.
And where is YR talking about wanting to commit suicide going to factor into all this.

The cheating couple are so selfish and despicable. Now even Hyun Ah, Mi Na and Sang Woo- people who are actually  good and qualified for their jobs are having to suffer the fallout because of the trash.

Yes.  I think it was Singapore. Let me go rewatch quickly lol:sweatingbullets:

Great posts everybody. it's all coming together and Team Jung Sun is a dream team including Sang Woo's secret ace card! Come on Team Jung Sun! Take them down!

Thanks so much for this! I have been looking for a netizen's reaction translation site since melohwa was shut down.  The reactions are so funny. The K-netz hate them as much as we do (and are as baffled by LSY's one note acting as I am ).  Glad to see so much love for Jang Nara. she is amazing in this drama!

He wasn't ever truly trying to fix his marriage. He just felt guilty and didn't want himself or Yuri to get caught. Fixing the marriage would mean prioritising his marriage and not one single time in this drama did SJ show that his marriage was a priority to him.  The despicable, cowardly way he has treated JS since he got caught shows exactly the type of person he is and how little his marriage meant to him.

Tell me one time this snake made an actual effort to save his marriage. If he really wanted to fix the marriage he would not have been lying to JS since episode 1; if really wanted to fix it he would not have allowed his unqualified sideho to work in an office right under his wife's nose and watched straight-faced whilst his innocent spouse goes out of her way to be kind and helpful to the richard simmons he's been screwing behind her back; he would have cut all contact with the sly crybaby and told the VP to assign her elsewhere; he would have come clean about everything to JS; he would have stopped lying to JS; he would not have covered up for Yuri's underhanded actions; he would have been there for JS when JS needed him and not run to be the VP's bumboy and crybaby Yuri's snot rag everytime she whimpered,

Heck, this feeble selfish waste of space didn't even bother to do the bare minimum and block his mistress on his mobile. How are you going to say it's over and still have your sidechick saved on your phone (and go running every time she calls you)?<_<

I hear you. He’s a piece of richard simmons. But there were times where he actually seemed regretful. Like when he begged to do better if she took him back. And when he promised to tell her everything when they were at the hotel. I don’t think he was ever truthful and honest in their marriage but he wasn’t completely a piece of crap at that point. Idk, I actually could see them get pass this before ep.11. But now? I just want her to take down their little group and burn it down to smithereens.

Anotherr round of ranting over today's episode, this time with multiple cuttings of posts (sorry Soompiers! ^_^)

We're now at Ep. 13, and I'm at loss on what to say about the current trajectory of this drama, particularly SJ's blank-faced, "bad cop/"good cop", Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde characterization.

How exactly is the VIP screenwriter going to spend the last 3 episodes wrapping up the central conflict- that is, SJ/YR "affair", the VP's plans of taking down JS and her VIP team via the "Prestigious Team" (which include JH and MN's husband Byunghun (BH)!? )- with, as @Pam_Van Fossen quoted in her post, "healing and forgiveness for the viewers and characters"? I'm not sure how JS and SJ will even reach a closure without one of them (metaphorically) jumping off the cliff after all of this has been said and done..<_<

Hope @MrsSoJiSub would be gracious to give you the blessing of riding with So Jisub on his white horse to save the day for JS and her VIP team from SJ, YR, the VP and the so-called "Prestigious Team" (while rescuing JH and BH from this team)!

At this point, whatever the drama screenwriter is doing to SJ's Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde character switch is further jeopardizing JS AND the VIP team at work, especially with the VP and his "Prestigious Team" attempting to steal the VIP team's clients and rendering JS and the VIP team jobless. Does the VP have some (legal) evidence against SJ? Or did the screenwriter just botch up SJ's overall characterization AND the overall story with this tepid pity-affair with YR that had been shrouded by far more compelling side-stories/red herrings/conspiracy theories?

Whether or not JS forgives SJ (which is a big IF, considering SJ's despicable actions and reasoning for said actions in today's episode), this drama better not end up with SJ and YR living happily ever after together.

Oh, and YR, your takeaway message from receiving all the initial kindness and protection from JS and her VIP team during the first 9 episodes was..."I know I'm bad and shameless, but please don't hate me"!? If anything, YR, the least you could've done is kneel down to JS, apologize for your misguided feelings for SJ and your mis-judgment of JS, say that you are grateful for her and the VIP team's friendliness and aid, and promise her that you'll try living as an honest, hardworking team member and NOT seek SJ again (especially when SJ previously "ended" their affair). While JS would grow angry and wary at your confession, she'd consider your dire family circumstances and lack of proper guidance and/or love from others besides her mother, see the sincerity in your apology and the earnestness in your work efforts despite having no substantial work qualifications, and continue providing proper guidance with your work and personal affairs (like how JS tried resolving HA's debts by lending HA some corporate loan instead of reporting HA to the company for stealing and selling the company's products).

But no, YR, you chose to (insolently) push away JS and shamelessly pursue your affair with SJ once he decided to resume said affair. And now you think you can win over HA (who, btw, is JS's close friend), SW (who already distanced from you ever since he saw the CCTV elevator footage of you and SJ), and everyone else in the company who has seen what kind of hardworking but gracious employee/supervisor JS has been to them? If you're not going to listen to JS, then listen to HA when she warned that you can't expect to get everything you want.

(whew, long rant to YR...but it's necessary when there's only 3 episodes left...:triumph:)

Last but not least, kudos to HA/JH and MN/BH for accomplishing what SJ should have done for JS in the first place: patiently listen to and respect one another's concerns and wishes, learn from her/his past mistakes, and work together to resolve whatever obstacles that are in their way. Now, if only JH and BH can keep alert in the "Prestigious Team" so that neither the VP nor SJ (or YR) could utilize them as pawns to force HA and MN's hands against JS...-_-

Better prepare ourselves for tomorrow's episode...:mask:

@Raziela

.. growing up abandoned by his father and scorned by the other family members......He told them how tormented his late mum's life was,  the feeling of guilt.....   Whats happening now to him wth Yuri is almost similar so he must hv inherited his hopeless expressionless ways fm his late mum.

I think unconsciously he is lashing out tht bottled-up-inferior  feelings by being cold towards JS (as a legal wife) while always protecting Yuri compassionately (being a mistress like his mum)??

Great comment from dramanice  about the battle lines drawn today. Hope it's OK to post them there.

I like how Jung Sun played both VP and Sung Joon in their own game. They thought by building their own Prestige Team that they will make the current VIP team redundant. Wrong. Jung Sun's proposal to the CEO is brilliant not just by concept but also makes perfect business sense in terms of drawing the creme de la creme. Exclusivity and snobbery are the perfect must haves for their ultra rich customers. I don't know how VP and SJ thought that their Prestige Team could be match against JS' The Black Society Team as PT is headed by the know nothing and no experience YR while TBS' Team's members are all aces in their jobs. Ji Young has long experience and knows all the VVIP customers first hand, Hyuna has the style edge, Mina the organisational skills, Sang Woo being a secret chaebol himself will know who's who in society and last but not the least JS' second to none leadership and strategic skills will definietly crush their opponents into pieces. Bring it on.

A fantastic play by Na Jung Sun and, as I said, in my earlier post, Jung Sun has a Dream Team.  They have the brains, skill, style, strength, connections and loyalty and understanding of the wealthy, upper strata of society.

team nepotistic cheaters (no capital letters for them:P) led by useless Yu Ri can't even compare.

Another comment also pointed out there are no women on the cheaters team besides Yu Ri.  That is unheard of in customer services in exclusive VIP retail field where the vast majority of purchases are made by women:

Quote

lakklo  lorem  an hour ago

Wow brilliantly explained! Moreover what lacks the husband cheater team is… women. Yuri appart there is only men… since when men can fully understand what rich customers 1% women want and need? cant wait to see that team doomed lol

We know Yuri has nothing much to bring to the table besides making big eyes, mouth breathing and crying.  No education, skills, style, connections, talent, or ability. Sung Joon and team will have to hard carry her like everybody had to in the VIP team but SJ is not fashionable, imaginative, creative and doesn't know the wealthy in the way Team Jung Sun/Black Society does.

Is there anything in the term ‘black diamond?’. Daniel used it to describe Yuri’s eyes and now isn’t it used to describe VIP customers?

I like that JS has told Yuri to not build her self esteem on PSJ, basically predicting he will do it again, and showing Yuri the alternative is to be authentic and kind and that JS will receive genuine support. I think from the preview Yuri knows she will never match up to JS, and also PSJ knows he will never match up to her. What they do in her wake doesn’t matter anymore, nor do I care as he isn’t good enough for her.

The show is too much. I will be glad when it is over!

Earlier post:     I agree that we are still in the dark on SJ's character reversal.

After thinking about it, another alternative could be that SJ is pushing JS away out of guilt and insecurity.  He might really think she is too good for him and after they agreed to stay together at first, it just wasn't working because she was so hurt and he felt so guilty.  He called himself a crazy bastard who made a terrible mistake.  His dad made a similar mistake and paid for it the rest of his life, along with the mistress and his illegitimate son.  His father tried to stay in a marriage where his wife knew he cheated and everyone suffered from the anger and mistrust.  SJ's experience seems to tell him that the sooner he cuts ties with JS, the sooner she will heal and move on. If he is not cruel, he knows she is such a good person that she will forgive him.   In a crazy way, it is out of love that he thinks she can and should do better than him.  He deserves to suffer with Yuri, he thinks.

Ok. Just finished ep 13 with English subs. My take:

1-I can’t believe that SJ was not more upset when “that girl” was so devious when she sent message to JS. He had told her he wanted to work things out with his wife. How can he trust her?

2-JS should have slapped SJ harder! And at least twice..

3-Because of SJ’s conversation with Mr. Cha after the umbrella incident, I think he still has feelings for JS. He wants her to hate him so it will be easier for her to move on.

4-I hope JS does not give him the divorce so “that girl’s” wedding planning falls apart.

5-“Girl Power” - fighting!

6-SJ lost his opportunity to fix the mess he made by remaining by the VP’s side.

I truly believe someone-SH and VP will wind up in handcuffs. I can’t believe that this is only about an affair.

ok I tried to edit. Don’t know what I am doing wrong.

I believe he said, it is better to be really evil, than just bad. That he didn’t want to be ambiguous. ( paraphrased)
He wants JS to really hate him. And I think he has accomplished that.

@2good2btru check you mail at top of this page. Info on where you can see this with English subs now. That’s if it doesn’t get deleted like my message on Viki site.
