“VIP” Teases Blossoming Romance Between Lee Chung Ah And Jung Joon Won

Love may be in the air on SBS’s “VIP”!

As the drama heightens on the popular Monday-Tuesday series, there may also be a sweet new workplace relationship developing between Lee Hyun Ah (played by Lee Chung Ah) and Cha Jin Ho (played by Jung Joon Won).

On the previous episode of “VIP,” Lee Hyun Ah bravely decided to come forward and reveal that she and many of her female co-workers had been sexually assaulted or harassed by their workplace superior Director Bae (played by Jang Hyuk Jin).

After learning that Lee Hyun Ah had barely managed to escape a violent sexual assault by Director Bae, a distraught Cha Jin Ho sought her out at the office. He then apologized sincerely for having continued to pursue her romantically despite repeated rejections and for having taken her rejections lightly. Visibly moved by his heartfelt apology, Lee Hyun Ah appeared to see him in a new light as she thanked him for his words.

On December 14, “VIP” hinted at a blossoming romance between the two co-workers by releasing stills of them shyly holding hands. The newly released photos capture Lee Hyun Ah and Cha Jin Ho leaving the office hand in hand, with Cha Jin Ho unable to hide a giddy smile as they walk somewhere together.

 

The producers of “VIP” commented, “Even in an extremely crowded filming location, Lee Chung Ah and Jung Joon Won showed exceptional focus and flawless chemistry throughout filming.”

They went on to tease, “Will Lee Hyun Ah, who said she’s not interested in betting on low odds, and Cha Jin Ho, who couldn’t have been more straightforward in his romantic pursuit, be able to surpass a friendly relationship between co-workers and hit the jackpot? To find out, please keep an eye on the unpredictable changes in the two characters’ relationship.”

Happy to see a least one couple come out unscathed in VIP.  Forgiveness is for the injured but forgetting is really not even possible at this pt SJ character greateast fear is everyone find out he is the product of an illegitimate affair.  Well news flash...that pales in comparison to what he has done and admitted to in the drama.

From the polls it looks like almost 70% voted for an ongoing affair and 51% for it being no conspiracy and just a marriage breakdown.  It seems those who voted for an ongoing affair didn't think it was a marriage breakdown.  Anyway i have been consistent from earlier on that is no affair going on between SJ and YR and i voted for YR not being the VP's daughter.

 

I just had some time today and did a re watch of earlier episode. I like @MrsSoJiSub take on 'what characters are and not saying to one another and some things which are not shown and how scenes were cut off which in some ways deliberately mislead us. This makes for an interesting watch even after a second take.  

 

In ep2 at the VIP team gathering SJ gets a message 'Lets meet after this'. At the time everyone was thinking he got the message from the woman he was having an affair with. Later on we see SJ tells JS to head home first as he wants to see the VP off.   JS makes her way home but decides to turn back and saw SJ getting in taxi and followed him.   In the taxi SJ texted 'i'm on my way' he gets off at Hotel Walker. JS gets off right after to follow SJ and the driver made some remarks about its good not knowing which i assume to make the audience believe SJ was really meeting his lover there. The episodes ends with JS calling SJ and asking where he was and caught him lying about the VP being drunk and he is with him but found SJ at the hotel lobby. We only get to see what happens next when the episode 3 airs the following week. Interestingly the start of ep3 did not pick up from where it ended in ep2 but starts off showing us a flashback of how JS fell in love with SJ. Then cuts off to the scene at the end of ep2.  At the hotel lobby SJ received a text: 'Today doesn;t seem like a good day, i'm leaving now, which seem to imply that its the same person who sent SJ the text at the gathering. We were not shown who the text is from. What happened next was the confrontation between JS and SJ. 

 

We only get to find out the person who sent SJ the text at the gathering and who SJ was supposed to meet at the hotel lobby towards the end of ep3. Here scenes were going back and forth from JS chasing after MinA who was actually picking up her kids to SJ who was waiting at a diner. SJ looked tensed and was looking and turning his wedding band. A man came and they exchange envelopes. SJ looked inside the brown envelope then handed the man a white one. After the man left he was sitting there staring at the brown envelope with a clenched jaw. 

 

Then in ep7 after the meeting with Tifone people, VP asked SJ how his order was coming along and he said that it will be over soon. We were shown what the order was when SJ met with a woman who we know later as the VP's mistress. The VP wanted to end the relationship and have her sign a confidentiality agreement. The woman refused at first but SJ showed her a photo of the woman's parents telling her they will know of her illicit relationship with the VP if she doesn;t sign the agreement. We were shown how SJ was feeling sick afterwards. It must have been hard for a kind hearted man like SJ to be doing such things for the VP. We can only assume the photo was from the man who handed SJ the brown envelope in ep3.

 

What SJ felt for YR must have been what he felt for the mistress. That YR could be used and tossed away when no longer needed. There were few instances that tells me YR is not the VP's daughter. The VP and especially YR doesn't look comfortable around each other.  We were show a flashback scene of YR and her mom in July 2008 and her mom was lucid then. That the VP only recently found out he has a daughter is telling. YR's mom have been sick so she could not have contacted the VP to tell him he has a daughter. There was another scene that confused me. It was at the department store diner, SJ met with the VP after his father's funeral. SJ handed the VP an envelope and then we saw the VP's wife storms out of the diner and YR was in the room crying. It only means the VP's wife already knew about YR before she was transferred to the VIP team. Did she know than that she is the VP's daughter? i doubt so. He could have told his wife then if YR was really his daughter. Since in ep9 the VP finds himself in a tight spot because of the video of his wife pouring wine on YR which the VP found out later was the work of his brother. His only solution was to announce YR as his daughter. VP tells his wife that he will lose power at work and that the public will look at it differently if it is a family issue then it being an affair. In a way the wife is complicit in the VP's lie.

wow...I did not put together that SJ was waiting at the hotel for the guy with envelop in the cafe. I did thin it was kind of strange that he would wait in a hotel lobby for his mistress. Seems to me he would have gone directly to the room. You could very well have something there.

Why didn’t SJ open up to JS at that time, you say? The show would end too quickly. Got to keep viewers in suspense.

SJ character knew she sent the text already he has the security footage. Asking is to confirm his beginning suspicions she is not has innocent and weak as she seems. My opinion of course...

You are absolutely correct. They had supposedly broken up before “that girl” became part of the team. But JS did ask him again. Didn’t she? On the bench by the wall and at the kitchen table?

He did. But he probably figured that would have been too difficult to explain...(well...ain't enough explaining for  cheating)

I get it now why he said to YR in the car that, " It would leave too big a scar if JS knew it was her (YR)." He had said she didn't know the mistress. 

Oh well...spinning my wheels,killing time. The next two episodes should be huge...usually are at this point in a 16 episode KDrama. Big revelations,then a snag, then...tada all solved/fixed.

Every time he said he was working late with the VP etc. with Yuri. 3. if its over with Yuri/affair 4. Do I know the person? 5. Yuri is VP daughter 6. Who wrote the text? 7. Then mistress works in her own department as her subordinate currently LIE again!

Etc no particular order most liars get caught cause they cant keep up one lie to cover another lie,

Just throwing it out there: Having been married all those years, don't you think JS & hang-dog's mom would have discussed some things? They seemed close & I have a hard time believing that JS didn't know a thing about hang-dog's past. And his mom's remark at the dinner table about what she would do if he ever had an affair.

 

I had a dream (credit to MLK for that line) that JS was in a confrontation with hang-dog.

   JS whipped a photo out & threw it at him. Hesitantly, he picked it. 

   "Did you actually think I didn't know anything about your past?" she spat out softly through gritted teeth. "Did I appear that naive to you?"

   In disbelief, SJ looked from the photo to JS.

   "Then it must be a terrible shock to you to learn that I've known everything about you from the very beginning, " she continued, her voice now becoming a whisper. "But because I loved you I waited for you to come to me - to trust me - to believe in me." Her voice grew stronger. "But you never did. You never shared yourself with me as I shared myself with you."

   JS stepped back. "For 10 years I waited for you. You were good - really good in your role as a loving husband." 

   She lifted her shoulders & a faint trace of sorrow appeared in her eyes. "Good job, SJ. Good job." She smiled softly then turned & walked away. SJ could only look after her in disbelief.

Just watched LSY on Masters in the House episode 98. It was so great to see him smiling and laughing. Told my husband they have something in common...they both snore.

in episode 3, JS said she found out it later, SJ look away whenever he lied. it was in scene when JS had to put sticker for over 1000 paper. i take this fact but still cant tell when SJ is lying LoL. but he look down side first then stare at JS when he said something abt yuri/mistress, i think he lied abt yuri but when i see he comforted yuri im not sure anymore so i think he look down because he feel sorry.LoL

in office aisle too, when JS asked if he there to find yuri, he just look down side cant even look at JS, and he didnt say anything....thats make me more confuse abt he look away whenever he lied. LoL...i feel the writer give a hint that she actually didnt really want to give it...LoL

BTW many vip viewer said lets give daesang for jnr...there is news abt SBS daesang. the battle to win daesang is no joke. Kim nam gil vs JNR vs jisung vs lee seung gi....JNR is the only female in the battle of daesang, and kim nam gil already won alot of awards for his acting in fiery priest.all nominees really great....sigh... it is hard competition. i can feel JS pain is real through her acting , 4 episodes left please give jnr a ticket to win daesang.

I'm not sure what causes JS to tear up the divorce papers in the next episode but I liked that.  I don't want her to allow SJ to just walk out of her life and start anew with Yuri.  JS is not at the forgiving stage yet, she still wants to punish them for what they have done to her.  In most dramas there is always forgiveness at the end.  In the VIP interview, the director said that by the end of the drama there would be healing and forgiveness for the viewers and characters.  Each character has their own hurdles to jump and will end up growing a lot, and will be more mature  in the end.  I'm don't know how JS and SJ will end up, but in my heart  I am still wanting them to get back together.  It will definitely be hard for them both but I want them to be happy.  They are the main couple and there has been so much heart ache and the only way I will feel better is if SJ does something to redeem himself and JS realizes that none of it matters accept she loves him and he loves her.  I am a hopeless romantic and although they probably wouldn't end up together in real life, anything is possible in a fictional drama.

Happy for Hyun Ah that she is in a better place emotionally and is now willing to give Jin Ho a chance.  I appreciate that this drama really made me him work to be worthy of a Queen and this drama shows that not all men are bottom of the barrel foul garbage like the VP or cheating, spineless, lying trash like Sung Jun. We have seen the drama show us some truly good men in these last few episodes who are able to admit when they are wrong, fight for their relationship/marriage, be honest and support women in Ma Sang Woo, Cha Jin Ho and Lee Byung Hun.

 

Haven't had a chance to post since episode 12 aired but I don't want to talk about the garbage people in this drama (you all know who I'm talking about ) and  just wanted to say I appreciated the positive aspects in seeing the strength of Hyun Ah coming forward about her assault and all the men and women who supported her and the other victims regarding sexual assault.  The renewed strength of Mina and Byung Hyun of marriage after coming through a crisis.  The strength and dignity  of Jung Sun in the face of an absolutely foul situation caused by someone she loved and trusted. I just LOVE LOVE the female friendships we see between Jung Sun, Hyun Ah, Mi Na, and Miss Kang and I hope we continue to see that throughout the drama (and none for Yoo ri lol)

I a.m so excited for tomorrow, I can’t sleep. I a.m looking forward to that slap. I hope NJS will pull Yuri’s hair too...ahhh, i’m boiling inside for SJ and YR. They are despicable! The only thing SJ could be redeemed is if he put his life and ambition away for JS’s sake. But would that be enough at this point?
