[Drama 2019] V.I.P, 브이아이피

I just finished watching ep 2 subbed and I loved it more than episode 1 because I was on edge on how things would unravel the whole time. I’m happy it’s not going at a slow pace as we pretty much know that she finds out and calls him out on it. My favorite scene from this episode was when they were at their dining table. No spoilers. :)  I can’t wait to see how next week’s episodes will play out. 
 

Before the drama started I believed he wasn’t cheating and was covering up for his VP. I still hope it’s some kind of twist and not predictable because I have high hopes for this drama and the complexity it promises. However the special episode interview and the press con has me questioning things. JNR said she would have gone to her lawyer if she was in this situation lol and at the press con, LSY says he doesn’t want to be like his character and started to  relate less and less to him.  Lots of bad choices made by his character. I felt the other casts were afraid he’d slip a secret how they reacted each time he talked lol

 

Also thrilled they are doing rating wise!!! I want them to succeed! 
 

Lastly, that article about their potential to date lol makes the shipper in me happy even though we won’t get much lovey doves scenes in the drama.

But when she opened up her wardrobe, it's full of hand bags, cloths & etc...  Then who is supplying her with all the stuff?! Then she popped up at a higher position's doorstep!

 

And the preview for next week seem too heavy for our pretty beauty, Na Ra!  And she will make sure to tear her feigned husband apart! I agree with @confusedheart326 chingu & can't wait for the war in between a beloved wife & a feigned husband! Go go go, Jang Nara!!  She will set the screen on fire soon!

Ohhh I didn't even know this drama is starting.  Has been a while seen I've seen LSY in a drama though I watch Masters once in a while.

Glad to see steady ratings... I am enjoying the show at the moment & it's so good that Jang Nara picked it in the first place! Waiting for more eps & discover how she handles the situation wisely! 

 

And here in the character poster, there are 3 kinds of lines to indicate their relationships with each other! I wonder if some chingu can explain it in english!   Interesting...

I guess it would be a good motivation for all the cast in VIP!  Jang Nara & Lee Sang Yoon is indeed a great leading pair!

Eps 2 was good...the preview left me wanting the next episode now.  Of course the million dollar question remains - Did he cheat on her ?  I know he is asking for a second chance in the preview which implies he did but somehow I have a feeling he didn't . I think there is something more to it . Am i overthinking ? Possibly. But it feels like he may be covering something up. Or maybe it really was just a one time mistake, which he is now feeling rather remorseful over ......

 

But the thing that caught my attention  is how quickly her suspicions grew. If they had a rock solid marriage where they truly trust each other , one simple text from an unknown number would not have affected her as much as it did. My point is that there is already trouble in paradise regardless of the affair. The text merely confirms the fears and concerns that has been subconsciously affecting her , but to which she has been ignoring.

 

The main theme I got from the two episodes is that nothing isn't really what it seems. ( which is why up to this point I am still unsure if he had really had an affair) . Hyun-A who seemed to have it all together with her great fashion sense and no nonsense attitude is actually broke and in debt. There's Mi Na who is trying to juggle family and work but  has actually not given up on her ambitions. She , I think, is  pregnant ( she did not drink the alcohol) . She's keeping it a secret because no one's going to promote a woman who is about to go on maternity leave. Not in this part of the world at least.  Then there's the seemingly innocent newbie Yoo Ri, who dresses to work conservatively and behaves like she knows nothing about how the world works,  is secretly having an affair with the VP and hiding her double life and fancy wardrobe.  Wow!  You really can't judge a book by its cover eh.

 

(Honestly I feel like I am watching a crime drama except that  I am not speculating over who the killer is , but who he may have slept with . Okay I  confess I am excited because I for one love crime dramas and also dramas about affairs - and the way they build the suspense - it is as if they merge two of my favourite genres together. So looking forward to the mystery and how this will all unfold.)

lol how can we think alike. I was actually wanting to see how well NJS would be taking it and for how long will she be holding it back till she gets proof that he is in-fact cheating on her. Her actions defines how well she really knows her husband or as you say how solid was their marriage. She could very well asked him straight to his face but when she actually did she was rambling on about how she was acting like a jealous wife. It didn't help that the call from Cha jin ho came at that particular time. Okay how was that phone call possible? can someone explain. So she kept the suspicion brewing for another day. I just knew she was close to the edge when she was drinking so much at the gathering.

I sense that HyunA didn't give in to Bae Do Il advances which was why NJS was promoted first. On the surface it looks like HyunA is someone who would do anything to get to the top.

I remember LSY said in a bts video that the love VIP will get, will be proportional to the hate his character Park Sang Joon going to get from the viewers. The maknae actor Shin Jae Ha said "Then the drama will get lots of love..  In this radio episode LSY said that his character has a secret. So it seems the drama most probably has more than what it seems. So I hope it'll not let us down.

All I can say is: "I'm confused"  Yes these 2 episodes leave me so confused. So I cannot make any guesses yet - except to read all the great theories put forward by you all.  The next 2 episodes will clear things up - I hope

I couldn't wait to watch the second episode. Not disappointed at all. They have me hooked. Gosh, what the heck is happening? I loved what Song Mi-na said to Na Jeong-seon. We all live in a delusion that we know a person well.  There is so much truth in those words. Wise words, Ms Song. That reminds me, did SMN go to an apartment to have some me -time? I looked like she was in a room all by herself after she left her house saying she had errands to run. I have a feeling it's her! She is the most 'inconspicuous' one. She's desperate for a promotion. As Park Seong-joon  admits in the episode preview, it was a moment of weakness, an accident. Aren't they all, Mr Park?So she seems to be a hassled mother of two young children, juggling her private and professional life. It's been 6 years since she had been promoted. And if there's been a case of miscarriage, of which there are high chances, going by the clues, Mr. Park might have found solace in another woman's arms who is equally kind of 'fed up' of her marriage. Perhaps, she is 'blackmailing' him to continue in order to secure a promotion. 

 

I have a feeling it's not Lee Hyeon-ah. BTW, she's soooooooooooooooooo sexy! Anyway, coming back to the topic, I feel it's not her because she had been 'banished' after she had some kind of an affair with someone at her workplace. Or perhaps, that guy who got promotion was hitting on her and when she refused his advances, he spread some malicious rumours about her. I don't know why but she doesn't seem to be the one having an affair. 

 

As for On Yoo-ri , I feel she must be the 'illegitimate' daughter of the company President. Maybe he is trying to atone for his sins by giving her a job. She says that she had been working since high school and had led a very difficult life, so this job might be the President's way of apologizing for years of ignoring his daughter.

 

 

  Na Jeong-seon, keep fighting. I had a feeling that he had the situation in control when he quite suavely gave her his phone to check. He had all his bases covered. God, I hate that man! I would love to get a reaction out of him. That blank and distant expression is simply making my blood boil! His coldness is grating on my nerves.

 

My favourite scene has to be when NJS follows her husband into the hotel, and although my heart was breaking for her, I wanted her to catch that rotten liar of a husband. And I must admit, it completely shattered my heart as she called up her husband asking him about his whereabouts, and he lies , standing right in front of her. I can't imagine the devastation she must have felt. Nothing, I mean nothing condones his infidelity. One time mistake or not! I hate you, Mr. Park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just bloody give me a reaction!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

This drama is leaving me on tenterhooks! Instead of pondering over life issues, philosophy of life, I spend my coffee-breaks analyzing dramas. I can't wait for the next episode to see what that  GFN husband has to say in his defence.

Lol ! We’re definitely on the same page here. The call from CJH baffled me as well . The timing was too perfect for it to be a cover for the adultery . How would he know what time they would both be arguing. So I kept thinking CJH was referring to something else he was covering up . Something related to work.

OMG... It's hard to know who is having an affair here. They look all suspicious except Na JungSun (JNR) and On Yoori  (PYJ) since she is already confirmed the mistress of the director.  Lee Hyun A (LCA) and Song Mina (KSY) are definitely the women who have illicit affairs here. 

 

This drama gives me goosebumps. This has so many rich holes to dig in in the coming episodes.  I am excited for more.

Cheating spouses are "mentally sick" people.. a very infectious disease and if the partner choose to stay, may end up mentally sick too. 

 

...In line of duty (on the yatch)  NJS witnessed the behaviour of a cheating husband.. she ws doubtful if she made the right decision by not exposing the affair;
