I so want SJ not to be a...ringed-tail tooter (I substituted this word for all the bad words I could think of. It's an actual term used in my neck-of-the-backwoods) but... You would think after all the palace dramas I've watched that I wouldn't be so affected by this one. I absolutely do not want JS/SJ back together. Nada...No...No Can Do!

I’m hoping Daniel appears if for no other reason but to give them HELL for how they are treating JS and threaten to take break the contract.

Ending scenario:

JS stepped out of the car, doing her best to push down her rising nausea. But it was the warm hand that slipped into hers that dispelled any misgivings she might have. She smiled in return, stood up & took a deep breath.

She felt a slight tug on her dress. She looked down at the mini-me (mini-her?), at the concern in her daughter’s eyes, & her smile grew wider.

“Mom?” asked her daughter with concern in her 5-year-old eyes.

JS looked at her other half & then at her daughter. And all the misery & self-doubt she had felt over the years disappeared. She looked around at the crowd surrounding her & there was not an enemy to be found. They were not just friends & colleagues now – they were family.

The crowd formed a protective shield behind her as she mounted the steps. With her head held high, JS entered the courtroom, ready to face her past and right the wrongs.

...to be continued...

Chills!

additional thought:

Someone on another site mentioned the conversation between SJ and Daniels ex. She mentioned being evil so Daniel would hate her. The writer believes that SJ’s comment in the 13 preview indicate SJ will get more evil so JS can hate him. ( I hope I paraphrased the writer’s thoughts correctly.)

I have a strong feeling that SJ will redeem himself in the end after watching ep.11 and 12. He helped Hyuna from the the other monster/ maniac.,,Soompi said that there is a plot twist. What could it be?

I think you are right. Probably Korean culture  values forgiveness highly. The worst curse in Kdrama seems to be 'I'll never forgive you'. So a lot of the 100 plus episodes' shows carry forgiveness to a strange level. With short ones? Not necessarily.

But this show seems to be whitewashing SJ and YR. The mother who abandoned JS was also heard to regret her actions. The office sex molester caught. Selfish husband reformed. We may get to see SJ and YR breaking up in a bad way. That should be the karma for them.

SJ cheating on JS with her is THE conflict of the show. Even if JS gets to be the CEO of Samsung and Hyundai and have a wonderful family, it would still rankle me if they are happily married too.

A preview ended with JS angrily looking at someone, SJ most likely, saying 'we'll go into hell together'. Was this for Ep 13? I think there will be a do or die attempt by JS. Question is on whom.

@KDramaLogic hang on ya . I hv to see how I can put the poll here or redirect to our events page due to our site limitations

To be fair ya , no change in answer - if not it’s pointless having speculations . Plus there’s no penalty if you’re wrong . It’s for fun .

Hmmm....whatever it is I hope SJ & YR burn in h3££ for whatever they did to JS. Sure he too went tru difficult time after losing their child but he shud do something abt it instead of letting his wife wallow in her depression. She needs professional help. If that didn’t work that he shud just give her an ultimatum to not stay together anymore if she insists living the way she did, not go find comfort somewhere else. At least if they has officially separated that he can see whoever he wants. So hatever it is now he’s a sinner & the i wailing broken water pipe is a beech

I would like to add to this, if he knew he too is having a hard time loosing their child, he should met a counselor or psychiatrist and let out his misery and sadness. Or at least tell his friends and or his mom about his problem not finding another way out (in the form of another woman). To me, that is just his lame excuse not to  make himself guilty in their broken marriage. There are so many ways to cope with the lose of your love ones and cheating was never an option to begin with.

First, sorry to cut off that cute Instagram post of HA and CJH (Cha Jinho), @triplem!!!!! :D I wasn't sure if I'm allowed to quote others' posts containing embedded Instagram post. And, kudos for CJH realizing and apologizing to HA for his initial brashness towards her. Hope for them to move forward!

Of course, I didn't mean to rush you into making that poll, I swear... :innocent: And yeah, I understand we Soompiers can choose only one conspiracy theory (even though all sound plausible to me...;)). Wish I could say the same for SJ picking the right choice (JS and their marriage, duh! :tears:) instead of stalling during the first 11 episodes...only to pick WRONG (YR and the VP, obviously) !!!!!!!!!

(Truthfully, I don't really know what a ringed-tail tooter is, so I just Googled this image...sorry...-_-)

P.S. AHHHHHHH, @Takingthehighroad!!!!! You can't leave us hanging with your JS-and-her-child epilogue like the VIP screenwriter is doing with the drama right now...:bawling:

EDIT: @triplem Thanks for the heads-up and reminder on what we the Soompiers are (not) allowed to post or quote in the Soompi threads. It's been nearly a year since I actively posted in the drama threads, so I've forgotten or am uncertain about the Soompi thread policies. Apologies for posting the streaming link...:(

3 Ways “VIP” Is Keeping Viewers Glued To Their Seats

3 Ways “VIP” Is Keeping Viewers Glued To Their Seats

Dec 14, 2019
by S. Park

Viewers are addicted to “VIP”!

The SBS drama tells the story of employees who are part of a task force devoted to taking care of the department store’s top one percent VIP clients as they try to succeed in their professional and personal lives.

Each character has a secret, and viewers have been tuning in every week for unexpected plot twists and reveals. As a result, “VIP” has topped viewership ratings in its timeslot and recently recorded a personal best of 14.2 percent.

Continue reading to find out three reasons why “VIP” is so addicting.

Lively characters

The cast of “VIP” created buzz even before the drama began airing, and viewers praised the great acting skills of the actors after it premiered. Jang Nara perfectly captured the emotions of a woman whose life turned upside down after receiving a mysterious text about her husband’s infidelity, and Lee Sang Yoonembodied the quiet, charismatic role of a husband with many secrets.

Lee Chung Ah, Kwak Sun Young, Pyo Ye Jin, and Shin Jae Ha also add tension to the story with their immersive acting skills as the secrets are unveiled. Jung Joon Won, Lee Jae Won, and Lee Jin Hee are also contributing to the thrilling plot as “scene stealers.”

Quick-moving plot

Described as a “private office melodrama,” the characters of “VIP” tell the story of their complicated relationships inside of an office. This is the place where various factors come together to create a suspenseful storyline. Each character’s suspicious gestures, expressions, and lines serve as clues to bigger secrets.

Each episode also begins with a mysterious opening and ends in a cliff-hanger, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats until the next broadcast.

Realities of office life

“VIP” is the first drama to tell the story of a department store’s task force dedicated to its top 1 percent customers. In contrast to their luxurious clientele, the employees themselves live ordinary lives that are similar to what viewers experience. In episode 12, the drama even took on the “Me Too” movement and the difficulty one endures after becoming a whistleblower in their workplace.

A source from the drama said, “We would like to thank viewers who have continued to react and give praise since the first episode. To repay you for your interest and support, we’ll work hard to make a good drama until the end. We plan to continue to give plot twists in the remaining four episodes. Please tune in until the end.” By Soompi

I just finished watching episode 12. What puzzle me is what is the VP’s wife trying to tell JS? She said its her gift to JS...something about her husband transferred out JS instead of SJ when he was the one who did wrong. Why is that?

I believe that what she was telling her was that if push comes to shove and the VP has to choose between his daughter and his right hand man that he'll choose the right hand man.  Hence she was saying that if enough pressure is brought to bear on Yu Ri that there is a point where the VP will let her go if it means he'd lose Director Park if he didn't.

Thus, Ms Na now knows what to do and I think that is why she won't give him a divorce at this time, though ultimately I think she will after Yu Ri is sufficiently taken care of.

Actually I think the husband doesn't think he is the same social level as his wife and that is why he didn't reveal that his father was living since it would be shown that he is illegitimate.  He has a bond with Yu Ri since they are essentially in the same circumstances and he doesn't have to act like he is what he isn't with her.

There seems to be more than a little over thinking about this drama, but it is fun to see people's imaginations, lol

Now are we going to get the next episode on time?  Someone posted that it might be post poned due to a baseball game?  Say it ain't so!  :bawling:

Well, he answered it on the Vlog; we will love the drama and hate him.  The more we hate him, he says, the more we will love the drama.  So he knows he will be hated as villain.  Not much room for redemption there.

Actually before vip was airing, one of the vip PD post 2 pic on his ig, first pic of all staffs and jnr and lsy from last scene NJS and PSJ in NJS house, second pic was the whiteboard for scene...but now he already delete the post maybe because it highly contained spoiler for the ending LOL..... dont worry i think there is still a chance for redemption

Spoiler

one of lsy fans said that the pd said in caption there will be a reverse...

(from ig translator) it was written on the white board : adios, la casa de jungsun, we are now fighting and having children here, is it ok to be family?

i assumed that as happy ending :) 4episodes left im waiting for a reverse

LOL i think i try to make sure my self abt the ending because i dont think JS would easily forgive SJ with all sadness that he made for her.

btw i think NJS torn the divorce paper after she find out it was yuri that send her the message, she must then thinking that yuri did that because she want her to divorcing her husband, she will have second thought to divorcing SJ because she definetely dont want to give what yuri want easily, even when SJ beg her to sign the divorce paper she wont do it before she get what she want ( cleaning the "poop"). And she said in earlier episode that for this matter (the message that start her miserable life) she wont down without figthing.  It is true divorcing is best way, the faster the better for both of them, but  she was type of woman that would choose "clean the poop so other people would not step on it". it was proved from how she handle hyun ah case and ji young case.

and if she still married to SJ when she declare the affair publicly it will give bigger impact than if she already divorced with SJ, but i think this not enough too for her to 'clean the poop'.

For that and the gift from VP wife i think she will start dig on SJ-VP secret and maybe with the help of SW and her girls squad.

i think Yuri and SJ never knew this "other side"  of JS. it is like yuri pick the wrong way and wrong opponent. if she never send the message, JS would easily divorcing SJ.

Go girl clean it first, and then start your new life. This is the best part from NJS that i like and waiting in next episode to see, her original personality. and i think for the writer this is the better way to start the reverse of the story right?

I am not worried, in fact definitely looking forward to a divorce. YR is the poop that PSJ has to clean, he himself has countless times shown he is unworthy of JS, cheats on her, humiliates her, pimping for the VP... no, nyet, short of saving Korea from meteor hit, she is not going to take him back.

Maybe that message is for SJ and YR?
