Kim Seon-ho's Fans Donate $8000 in his Honor



Recently, in commemoration of the actor's thirty-sixth birthday this past May 8th, actor Kim Seon-ho's fan club Thinking of Kim Seon-ho donated eight thousand dollars to Community Chest of Korea. The club received an honorary plaque for their contribution. According to Community Chest of Korea, some two thousand separate fans pitched in for the collective donation to the charitable organization.

....  Kim Seon-ho publicly acknowledged the fan club's donation and thanked them for it on May 11th. Then on May 13th, his agency announced that he would return to acting via the stage, with a role in the play Touching the Void. It is not yet known when or if Kim Seon-ho will return to screen acting.

Kim Seon Ho spotted preparing for his theater comeback

Kim Seon Ho is spotted today practicing for his upcoming theater comeback.
 

On June 6th a source from the theater production shared the photos of the actors that will perform in the upcoming play "Touching The Void." Kim Seon Ho's photo was also released. The actor is seen practicing with his colleague.
 

Last May, Kim Seon Ho's agency Salt Entertainment confirmed that the actor is returning to theater plays. He will be joining the cast of "Touching The Void." He will play as Joe Simpson and the play will revolve around the survival in the Andes in 1985. 
 

"Touching The Void" was first released as a movie in 2003 and it became a play in 2018.

This will be the very first time that Kim Seon Ho will be facing an audience after his controversy. The actor has been on lie low ever since the controversy. He hasn't accepted any other projects aside from the ones that are already confirmed before the controversy.
 

Kim Seon Ho will be part of the play from July 8 until September 18. It will be held at  Art One Theater 2 in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul.





 

In October 2021, Kim Seon Ho got embroiled in a controversy about his private life. After Dispatch showcased more evidence, Kim Seon Ho's name was cleared up. 
 

Because of this, Kim Seon Ho decided to halt all his activities. The actor also decided that in 2022, he will not appear in any other projects aside from his upcoming debut movie "Sad Tropical." He has already begun filming for the movie in Thailand. Fans of the actor have seen him only through photos and other promotional materials of his ongoing advertisements. 
 

After several months of not greeting the public, Kim Seon Ho will finally be seen in the flesh once again through the theater play "Touching The Void."

After over eight months outside of the spotlight, the actor is currently gearing up to make his return to acting in the Korean version of the play “Touching the Void.” The play is based on the real-life story of Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, two British mountaineers who came close to death during their descent from the summit of Siula Grande in the Andes, which was previously documented in Joe Simpson’s book “Touching the Void” and its subsequent film adaptation.

 

On June 22, Kim Seon Ho’s agency SALT Entertainment released a poster for the upcoming play, which will run from July 8 to September 18 at Seoul’s Art One Theater.

 

The poster, which offers a glimpse of Kim Seon Ho in his starring role as the stranded Joe Simpson, references the fact that the two leads were the first mountaineers in history to climb the West Face of Siula Grande. The caption reads, “No one has ever seen this view before. Right now, we are the only ones who have seen it.”

The ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ actor is gearing up for his return to acting.

On June 22, actor Kim Seon Ho’s agency SALT Entertainment released a poster, showing the star portraying the role of Joe Simpson, in the upcoming Korean version of the play ‘Touching the Void’. Based on the real-life story of two British mountaineers, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, this play marks Kim Seon Ho’s return to acting after about eight months. 
 

The play will begin its run next month, on July 8, and will go on till September 18, at Seoul’s Art One Theater. Meanwhile, the poster reads “No one has ever seen this view before. Right now, we are the only ones to have seen it.” This caption alludes to the fact that Joe Simpson and Simon Yates made history by becoming the first mountaineers to climb Siula Grande’s West Face in 1985.

The two mountaineers’ story, which will be presented through the upcoming Korean play starring Kim Seon Ho, has previously seen documentation through Joe Simpson’s book, ‘Touching the Void’, as well as its film adaptation of the same name. 
 

Previously, photos of the actors attending a rehearsal ahead of their first performance of ‘Touching the Void’ had been released, with the caption, “The opening is the first step towards the summit.” Kim Seon Ho, along with his fellow cast members, could be seen in mountaineering garb, as they took part in the rehearsal. 
 

Meanwhile, ‘Touching the Void’ also stars actors Shin Sung Min, Lee Hwi Jong, Oh Jung Taek and Jung Hwan. After Kim Seon Ho made his return to social media earlier this year on May 8, by thanking his fans for their wishes on his 36th birthday, the upcoming play will mark his return to plays following ‘Ice’ last year.

Touching the Void is an adaptation of a real-life story of British mountaineers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates‘ near-death experience as they ascended the West Face of Siula Grande in the Cordillera Huayhuash in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. Joe Simpson wrote the book documentation of the same name in 1988, and it since was adapted into a 2003 docudrama survival film.

YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who used to be an entertainment reporter, uploaded a video claiming Kim Seon Ho had health issues due to intense stress before his return to the theater play. 

 

According to his video posted on July 9th, Kim Seon Ho had health issues including shingles due to intense stress which compromised his immunity before his return. But Lee Jin Ho dispelled rumors that Kim Seon Ho was rushed to the ER.  

 

Lee Jin Ho also added that Kim Seon Ho decided to resume activities thanks to '2 Days & 1 Night' members and his colleagues from his theater play days. 

 

Meanwhile, Kim Seon Ho resumed his activities with a theater play, 'Touching the Void'. Kim Seon Ho's first show was on July 9th and he has sold out all his tickets to the play until August 15th according to media reports on July 4th KST

Shortly after his successful drama 'Hometown Cha Cha Cha', Kim Seon Ho drew criticism after his ex-girlfriend accused him of forcing her to have an abortion. Following this controversy, Kim Seon Ho withdrew from the variety show '1 Night, 2 Days' and was dropped from film projects including '2 O'Clock Date'.

Kim Seon-ho Tops Poll of Which Celebrity to Spend a Humid Summer With


The mathematics-based cram school corporation Seven Edu recently released the results of an online poll which had been taken from June 19th the July 12th. Some 4,914 respondents were asked which celebrity they wished to spend a humid summer with. Of those respondents, 4,101, or 83.5% of the total, stated that their celebrity of choice for this query was Kim Seon-ho. Kang Daniel was second place 640 respondents for 13%, while Kim Jong-gook was third place with 57 respondents for 1.2%.

While international fans tend to know Kim Seon-ho best for his acting work, with his having a breakout role as the second lead in "Start Up" followed by a leading role in "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" last year, the respondents to the poll were most likely thinking of his work in variety shows. Kim Seon-ho has been on hiatus the last nine months. The cause has been a scandal where an ex-girlfriend accused Kim Seon-ho of bullying her into having an abortion.
 

Kim Seon-ho acknowledged the substance of the complaints and apologized to the ex-girlfriend. Purportedly, she accepted his apology. Kim Seon-ho is making his return via stage with Touching the Void, a play about mountaineering that's based on the book of the same title. The play started this past July 8th, with Kim Seon-ho first appearing in the July 9th performance at the Art One Theater in Seoul. It is not known if or when Kim Seon-ho will return to screen acting.

Kim Seon Ho directly apologized for the past controversy over his private life and eventually cried.

On the afternoon of July 20, Kim Seon Ho appeared in front of reporters at the press call event for the play 'Touching the Void,' which took place at the Daehangno Art One Theater Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul. This is the actor's first public appearance since the controversy involving his ex-girlfriend.

On this day, Kim Seon Ho appeared with a handwritten letter ahead of the conference meeting. He said, "I thought it was the right thing to do, so I came out alone first. I am a little nervous so I thought I would talk incoherently so I wrote this down. I hope you can understand with open hearts."

After a moment of silence, he began reading his letter. He read, "I am really sorry and apologize for sharing this at the press call event. Many people worked hard from this spring to summer to make this play. I feel like I have caused a hindrance to everyone so once again apologize to the team and everyone" and shed tears.

He continued to say, "I am truly sorry for causing concern to many people with bad news. Looking back, I have reflected a lot on my shortcomings. All I can say is that I will put forth the effort to become a better actor and a better person. I am sorry."
 

Meanwhile, Kim Seon Ho will play the role of Joe, who was isolated on a snowy mountain in a distressful accident, in the play 'Touching the Void.' The play will be in theaters from the 8th of this month to September 18th.

Kim Seon Ho Makes Meaningful Donation To Help Typhoon Victims

Kim Seon Ho has made a meaningful donation to aid flood relief efforts in Pohang.
 

On September 16, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association announced that the actor donated all his earnings from the play “Touching the Void” to provide refreshments to more than 1,000 victims and volunteers affected by the recent Typhoon Hinnamnor.
 

Kim Seon Ho’s agency Salt Entertainment also commented, “Kim Seon Ho expressed his wish to donate all his performance fees to help those who lost their homes due to the typhoon, so we decided to fund the provision of refreshments. We hope it will be a small help for the victims in the recovery of their daily lives.”
 

Reportedly, the decision to run a food truck was made according to the association’s apparent need for on-site food assistance ahead of the Chuseok holiday

Actor Kim Seon Ho has updated his fans after a long time. Following a long running hiatus, the actor announced his return by going back to his roots as he took up a role in the theatre play ‘Touching the Void'. Acting as the lead character Joe Simpson, Kim Seon Ho’s play received a lot of praise from the attendees.
 

The show began its course on July 8 and ran for over a couple of months. Following the last show, lead artist Kim Seon Ho took to his social media to update his fans. Sharing a couple of photos from the stage as he sat in the audience and even sat in his usual position, the actor presented a finger heart to his fans.

Kim Seon Ho In Talks To Star In New Historical Romance Drama By “Love In The Moonlight” Novel Writer

Kim Seon Ho may be returning to the small screen soon!

 

On October 19, JTBC News reported that Kim Seon Ho will be returning with the drama “Hash’s Shinru” (working title).

 

In response to the report, a representative of Kim Seon Ho’s agency SALT Entertainment shared, “Actor Kim Seon Ho has received an offer to star in the drama ‘Hash’s Shinru,’ and he is positively in talks.”

 

“Hash’s Shinru” takes place in the backdrop of the days of King Sejong which was also referred to as the “Joseon Renaissance.” The historical romance drama follows the story of crown prince Lee Hyang, who is a scientist that loves the stars, and Hae Roo, a mysterious woman who sees the future. Author Yoon Yi Soo of the original web novel of the same name will be personally writing the script. Yoon Yi Soo is also the author behind the web novel that the popular drama “Love in the Moonlight” is based on.

 

Kim Seon Ho has reportedly been offered the role of crown prince Lee Hyang. If he accepts the role, this will be his second historical drama following “100 Days My Prince.” After starring in the play “Touching the Void” earlier this year, Kim Seon Ho is also currently gearing up to return with the film “Sad Tropics” (literal title).
