I would like to add another observation about JWS. His poor expression skills can be explained. He is definitely reticent/ silent.

Episode 3: When he met Soo Ah, he barely talked. He just ate his steak and said: "really". Soo Ah tried to have a conversation but he remained taciturn. She pointed out that this day was their 4th-year anniversary, since she had met him and he had no idea ("really?"). Then she asked him how long they should be like this... he had no idea what she was talking about. No wonder if he can not choose the right words as he barely talks.

 

I wrote an analysis about Morro Cabana as CSH's awakening, where she had decided to enjoy her life and not live like in the past. Now, I understand why she was so active in the episode 2 and showed interest towards KJH. Since she had decided to change the way she lived, she had to act differently from the past. She showed her curiosity and a certain easiness:

- She looked into KJH's resumee

- She went to his neighborhood in order to see that playground

- She gladly played and had fun

- She asked him about the phone call at 12.42.

- Then she proposed to take KJH back home, when he was drunk

- She teased him the next morning

- She asked him to eat with her ramyeon at a rest stop 

That's why the "scandal" had such an impact on her. For her, it was like a wake up call... First, she had to take deep breaths, you have the impression that she is about to get suffocated. It seems like she has received a punch. If you pay attention to the episode 3, during the 25 minutes CSH is shown sitting on her couch or her armchair behind the desk. It was as if she had become passive and paralyzed again. This explains why her insomnia is back and she takes more pills. She is about to relapse and go back to the way things were before. But due to Chairman Kim, she has to go to Sokcho. She justifies her trip to JMJ: she needs to rest and while driving, she can relax as she has so many things in her mind. If Mister Nam hadn't brought KJH with him, CSH could have indeed relapsed. But then she spends again time with him so that she can overlook the scandal. She enjoys her time with him: smiles, laughs aso therefore when she can not fall asleep, she asks for that song. She can not forget what JH told her. JH had an impact on her which KJH realizes.

@xu_lyfe Thanks a lot for the compliment! Honestly, I had never thought that this drama would be so deep and well written. But the more I watch and analyse this work, the more I love this drama.  

 

Now, I would like to talk about the meeting between Grandfather Samuel and KJH in the first episode. Their conversation is really important because it explains why grandfather Samuel could remember KJH and deduce that KJH loved the CEO.

The first thing KJH says is that this garden is beautiful and he adds this: 

With these words, our hero shows that he is able to sense the love in that garden. Someone put a lot of work and love in it and he can still see the beauty and love in it. Nonetheless, grandfather denies this as he replies:

Quote

This is just an old garden! It was a beautiful time. All that was here.”

 As you can observe, grandfather is talking in the past. There is nothing beautiful here... everything is gone. Indirectly, he is saying that the love is dead too because his wife died. That's why the garden is no longer beautiful... he can no longer enjoy the garden. However, KJH sees it differently.  To him, time has changed nothing. The wife might be dead but he can still feel the love in this garden. The memory of her and her love didn't disappear with her death. Yet, grandfather is still pessimistic because he answers:

Quote

It was so hard to keep up the garden.

It was the garden of my wife.

 You see, he is still talking in the past. Moreover, Samuel insists that the love ended with her death ("completed"). Because KJH appeared as someone sensitive who could even feel the love in this garden, he left a deep impression on Samuel. KJH kept telling him that the love as such didn't disappear because you can feel the memories in it.  

Let us not forget that KJH has kept the old camera from his father's friend. The camera represents a dear memory of that person that's why he is attached to it. Things might change but memories and love not... that's what KJH tried to tell Samuel. 

This is from the second episode. Here CSH justifies why she was able to get the contract. She also felt that love in that garden... she sensed that there are memories. She has the same point of view than KJH. Emotions and memories are important. This explains too why CSH and KJH are so similar.

 

So when JH met Samuel for the second time, he remembered him because KJH had told him that the love of his wife was still existent, although she had died. But when Samuel read the letter, he noticed that KJH mentioned that the playground represented memories with the woman he loved. Moreover, he knew that KJH was just a simple employee (reservation office desk) due to the magazine... he is not someone from the higher up. No normal worker would spend the night in a garden like that, even dare to trespass the property. Only someone in love would do that... and since the garden meant so much for the CEO, Samuel could imagine that KJH would do such a bold move only for her.

As we go into the last episodes of the series, I think it would be wise for CSH to take some precautionary steps to protect KJH and his family.  This is not her first rodeo with Chairwoman Kim Hwa-Jin and her dirty tricks.  Sadly, I have worked in this type of environment before, and CSH's opponents will do whatever they need to in order to remove CSH as the CEO of Dongwha Hotel, which would include hurting KJH or his family, either physically or their character.  At the very least, I would do the following:

• Place CCTV cameras on the front & rear of the Kim family home and business.
• Make sure security in Dongwha facilities keeps a close eye on KJH.
• Put a private investigator on KJH and follow him at all times. (I know this sounds bad, but if they try to set KJH up on some sort of a drug, crime or sex scandal, someone needs to be an eyewitness to keep him out of danger.  Too many hours watching My Ahjussi.)
• Have somebody keep tabs on KJH's family, Hye-In and Dae Chan.

This may sound expensive but it would be better to ensure the safety of the person you love and his family so CSH can do what she needs to do in order to save Dongwha.

@bebebisous33 what I love about the leads are that they are both creative in their own right. SH loves art and JH loves literature. What’s fascinating is this is embodied in the drama itself with the mystical art we see at the beginning of each ep and through SH’s collection, as well as the poetry and when JH quotes a work he is reading. This adds to the depth within the drama. Because it is not just the sense of the story, but the character themselves.

I was wondering why they included a spanish translated magazine. It doesn’t seem to relevant at that time. But now I understand that thats what made the owner of the garden understand why a mere front desk clerk would fly off to Cuba and convince him to give it to the CEO otherwise. Another great analysis... I need to watch this drama from episode 1 again. By God!

While your recommendations are plausible, I dont think it would come to that. Ex MIL is good at alot of things (manipulating, back stabbing, scheming, investigating, cheating) but I dont think this drama will end up having a story like any other kdramas where the bad guy kidnaps the leads or a close relative/friend of the lead just to get what they want. One reason I think this, ex MIL is no long interested in having CSH as a daughter-in-law again, she’s more interested on snatching Dongwha hotel away from her. So I’m expecting legal battle in the next episodes and that might include manipulating, scheming, back stabbing, cheating, libel and forgery just to get the hotel back.
