The cast and crew of 'Boyfriend' recently attended their first scriptreading!

 

On October 5, SBS released photos from the first script of the upcoming Wed-Thurs drama. The first gathering for 'Boyfriend' took place back in August with scripwriter Yoo Young Ah, director Park Shin Woo, actors Song Hye Kyo, Park Bo Gum, Cha Hwa Yeon, Go Chang Seok, Shin Jung Geun, Baek Ji Won, Moon Sung Geun, Block B's P.O, and more.

 

'Boyfriend' tells the story of a daughter-in-law who was never able to live the way she wanted to, always being told what to do in an upper-class, political family. One day, she meets a youth with an ordinary, happy life, and their worlds clash in a romantic, but sorrowful love story. 

The first episode is scheduled to air in November.

Actor Jang Seung-Jo was cast in 'Boyfriend.'

 

As a result of the TV report coverage, Jang Seung-Jo was the former husband of Cha Soo-hyun (Song Hye-kyo) and the chaebol son Jung Woo-suk at the tvN new drama 'Boyfriend.'

 

Jang Seung-Jo gives impressive performance through tvN 'Knowing Wife' which was recently concluded. In 'Knowing Wife,' he was in a relationship with Han Ji Min and in 'Boyfriend' he played with Song Hye Kyo.

On Oct. 10, Neos Entertainment, agency of Jang Seung Jo, said, "We are currently looking at the new TV drama 'Boyfriend'  casting offer and are reviewing it positively."

Jang Seung Jo Addresses Reports Of Him Joining Song Hye Kyo And Park Bo Gum’s Drama “Encounter”

Jang Seung Jo may be joining appearing in tvN’s “Encounter” (formally known as “Boyfriend”)!

 

“Encounter” will explore the tale of Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo), the daughter of a politician and ex-wife of a chaebol who has never been able to live her life as she pleases, and what happens when she meets, by chance, Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum), an innocent young man who cherishes and happily enjoys his ordinary lifestyle.

 

Jang Seung Jo was reported to be taking on the role of Jung Woo Seok, Cha Soo Hyun’s ex-husband and heir to a major conglomerate.

 

On October 10, a source from his agency Neos Entertainment clarified, “Jang Seung Jo has received an offer to play the role of Song Hye Kyo’s ex-husband in tvN’s new drama ‘Encounter.’ This is not finalized. He is positively considering it.”

 

Jang Seung Jo most recently appeared in tvN’s “Familiar Wife,” where he displayed exceptional chemistry with Han Ji Min.
