So many thoughts with these... my empathy feels awkward for them - it's so weird to me to see them do these random poses and then staring contests.

I wonder why it's so common in Thai BLs for them to treat the women like glass. They're always worried about their feelings getting hurt and stuff. Meanwhile, we Americans are like NO I DON'T LIKE YOU BYE. XD

Just watched the episode again and looks like Pond sent Pete information regarding football shoes that Ae has been looking at.  So Pete wasn't just buying Ae an expensive gift, but something that Ae has been looking at for sometime. Ok, that makes sense. 7000.00 Baht isn't to bad for good quality football shoes.

I have so much to say for this episode and so far but I'll try to restrain myself!

Ae/Pete

I really love this new development of Ae, so far I find him too "perfect".

Let me explain, he helps people he doesn't know, he is straightforward (a great quality for me), when he starts having feelings for someone, he wondering but he tells (and no matter if the person is a girl or a boy, he has feelings he expresses them), he doesn't care about what people think, ok he is grumpy but so do I!

So now to see him having doubt, not believing in him (to get the person he likes) is making him more human. I think I've seen too many ugly duck/swamp theme in my youth so now I'm relieved when I see true characters with insecurities, because that's what human is. 

He even does believe that Chompoo is a prank from Pond.

How can he be more direct, we know from the car's scene that he still thinks Pete sees him like a friend. Furthermore, it's the first time he has this kind of feeling (a lot to process), I find the character's progress really believable.

Tin/Can : they get me really slowly. At first I didn't like those characters, Tin for an obvious reason and Can, because I didn't get this kind of character. But they start to develop their background and I start to like them. Can's innocence (when he was asking about the kind of movie Pond wants to let him borrow), his uncontrollable temper (I love when the characters are not smooth, and so far in the show, it's not one way of thinking, human being with all his imperfection).

 

Tar/Tum

Nothing to say for now, they are not in screen together.

 

Pond/Cha-Am

It's rare for me to like a straight couple in BL serie (most of the time I don't care), so I have to say it . Their interactions are great!

 

Techno/Kengkla

I'm into this couple so much. We haven't seen them much but I really like how Kengkla acting, doing crazy things to spend time with Techno. I have so much fun each time. He is jealous, has no limits ... He wants him and no matter what he has to do, he will do it.

If the information came from Tin's father then he'd be in deep trouble. I also i think he would want to know what was going on and why Tin wanted information on Tump. 

 

I also don't believe Tin gets on well with his father so i can't see him helping out.

 

From what i understand it's Pete who asked Tin to do some research about Trump.

 

Can is already obsseded by Tin, it's cute. I think he is going to chase Tin to get a "revenge". But he is in denial, he had been instantly attracted to Tin, that why he can't stop thinking about Tin.

Finally got to watch the episode this morning and so much to catch up here lol  Not that I am complaining, I like reading reviews!

I was a biiit (just a bit) disappointed to be honest. After a 2 weeks gap, I was expecting a hell of an episode but in the end, not much happens in this episode. It's probably pretty much some build-up for coming episodes.

* Ae/Pete : more misunderstandings but thanks to Ae's straightforward personnality, it won't last long. He doesn't take Pete's vague excuses and goes to comfront him as soon as he notices a change if behaviour. I really like this side of Ae but I don't think that makes him too perfect. Sometimes, he gets too intense (and I'm under the impression it's only the behinning) and with someone like Pete, it can be too much. The show didn't really address to it for now (not sure it will tbh) but this aspect is present. On Pete's side, his fears are very understandable. First, he only knew (violent) rejection in his love life so far (basically Trump - honestly this name!)  and he carries some self-loathing that is rooted in his subconscious because he associated being gay with shame and anormality (as it's still mostly the idea society seeds especially in Asia I'm led to believe). No wonder he thinks Ae, who's stil confused, has a choice and would have a easier life dating a girl.

It doesn't help that from outside, the relationship between him and Chompo (spelling likely incorrect) started the same way as theirs. Ae "saved" her (I find hilarious that one would regard oneself as being saved because someone stopped their bag from falling in 5 centimeters of water LOL). But it's obviois for anyone else that Ae is not in the slightest interested in her. Good point, he made that clear to Pete too (not sure it will suffice with the trailer for episode 6...).

One thing though : Ae saying he's not handsome is NOT credible I'm sorry . It's probably true in the novel, it is not in the show (thanks to BL show-business rules). I know Ae is modest, but not chance someone as handsome as Perth wouldn't have noticed people giving him eye by now...

Anyway. Confrontation interrupted by Tin. Which leads me to...

Tin/Can : I'm still not really sold to this ship. I find Can rather annoying for now and Tin quite stereotypical. Plus, I don't think the actors have off-the-charts chemistry tbh. But I tend to like characters like Tin and I'm interested in his background (although he pratically already let the cat out by bringing betrayal beetween siblings up). At least, it seems there will be some real build-up for them so that's what they need. TBC I guess.
 

 Cha Aim/Pond : at last, a good straight couple in a mostly BL show!! That was about time. And thanks god Cha Aim is smart and always ready with a reply and not some fragile princess that's day-dreaming about his prince charming all day. That wouldn't have fit Pond, anyway. They look great together and Cha Aim is already softening to Pond. I really want to see more of them!
 
Tum/Tar : not much to say as Tar is still being kept somewhere abroad (and off screen). Next episode should flesh this pairing out a bit a Tar is back.
Also, I might be the only one, but I don't care in the slightlest for Type's mysterious boyfriend. He can stay off-screen as far as I'm concerned 

Techno/KK : no enought screentime!!  Why do I always pick up the pairing that is likely to be the one with the least appearance as my favourite, but why?? Hope we'll see them more in next episode.

And once again, 5 days to wait!

Ae, it seems he thought of himself as an asexual, that's why he said " is it possible for me to like someone?" With the awakening, he seemed to awake about his looks too. Like before, he wasn't never interested by anyone so he didn't bother about his look. Now he started to think that size matters... Short is not and handsome standard for men. Before he didn't seem to care about this.

 

He is also quit lost, he never dated before, he kissed Pete but Pete told him he didn't know what he felt about Ae too. He was doing really fine when he was courting Pete when he wasn't aware of his feelings. Now he knows, he is showing some insecurities. It's great. 

 

He was already upset about Pete liking Pond, but now he met Tin , the very handsome and cold friend lol. I loved the glaring contest between Tin and Ae. Ae glared at Tin but it wasn't the same than he addressed to Pond in eps 4. He showed more insecurities while glaring at Tin the very handsome and cold friend. LOL. I bet that he looked at Tin and he felt Tin was so tall , and handsome...

 

Pete, he is so kind, shy and he has a lot of trauma. First even if he admitted to himself he is gay, even if he outed to his mother and she accepted him,  he is still in conflict with himself being gay. He still thinks he is not normal and doesn't deserve happiness... With this logic in mind, of course he wants Ae to be happy and being happy is being straight in his mind. 

 

He wants to dream and hope Ae could like him but in reality he doesn't want that the man he loves to be gay ... Because he wants Ae to be happy and he has no right to love and hold back Ae or keep him to himself because of this logic. 

 

We don't know about Pete's dad? I wonder if there is a trouble with his dad. 

 

Pete is also scarred by Trump , he had been physically and mentally abused by him. To make it worse his best friend Tin, seemed to get a similar past ( I bet Pete knows, that why he is dealing with Tin 's behavior ). 

 

Pete seem to trust Tin and be more himself with Tin. We witnessed he even got pissed at Tin in today's eps. When he asked Ae to not talk to the police, he asked Tin to do some criminal research about Trump. It looks like Pete is not done with Trump's case either.

 

Of course he didn't tell Tin about what Trump did, because I think Tin would be able to kill Trump on the spot in a vicious and coldly calmer  way ( not like Ae, lol the completely opposite. in character. ). 

 

I love Tin and Pete's friendship. 

 

I wonder if Tin hadn't be betrayed by his brother. When he talked about if a brother can steal his own brother.... When a family 's member betrayed you it's much more harder to trust a stranger after. 

 

I can't wait to Tin and Can to start ^^. 

 

About Champoo, I like her. The girl is young but brave and she is like Ae, she is straightforward for sure. She met Ae by chance,  and Ae helped her too. It's the same circumstances. The girl is clueless about Ae being gay ( even Ae seemed still being clueless about the fact lol ).

 

I can see her being a good friend to Ae because she is the same type, a straightforward girl. I can see how she can help Ae in the future. I can already see that unlike Pond , she won't be "afraid " to talk frankly to Ae. Just like Tin talks frankly to Pete. I can't wait for her to realize her crush is one sided and to become a true best friend to Ae. 

 

Well, i love the series, can't wait for eps 6

I'll probably come back later to write some of my thoughts on ep.5 but for now... I totally agree with what you're pointing out in your post SaQaroz, especially with the fact that Ae saying he's not handsome is not credible at all! Come on!!

- Ok, people don't have the same tastes (fortunately),

- Ok, Ae isn't very tall (actually it really isn't shocking, he is even taller than Can...),

- Ok, he obviously lacks self confidence and is very modest,

- And maybe there are "physical criterias of beauty" in Asia that he doesn't met.

 

But, really... Who could dare to say he isn't handsome??? Perth/Ae obviously and objectively IS handsome, no matter how you look at him... I could have believe this in the mouth of some characters I've seen in other dramas or films I have watched (according to my tastes, of course. I have in mind Haruta from Ossan's love for example), but here no!

Yes we know that Pete asked Tinn to investigate. What we were trying to work out earlier on here is where Tinn got his information on Trump. I think it was from a Private Investigator, but we're not sure.
