Each time i see another couple (apart of Ae/Pete) into LBC, i immediatly made reference to LS and MIR, where supporting couple was almost as important as main roles.  BTW, more couple=more love=more emotion! The perfect BL script to me! Thanks to Kim Soo-Lee for the vid clip

 

 

On MIR, a lot of fans seem to like the second couple more than the first couple.  Actually, my introduction to the ENTIRE realm of Thai BL was a Book/Frame cut I ran into on youtube.  (I assumed they were a side couple on a mostly straight show at the time, didn't realize that there were entire Thai shows devoted to gay gay gay.)   But since I hadn't been properly inaugurated into the Asian BL world yet, I didn't especially like their story.  Their first sexual encounter comes off as rape, plus there was the bleeding rectum the next day. . . Uh, I couldn't believe my eyes, to be honest.  And I didn't know what the hell a "tsundere" was either.  I like my sexy time desired by both parties.  Haha, oh, I have learned so much this year. . .

 

Love Sick almost had too many couples going on for me.  Well, let me rephrase that.  It had too many couples (or "possible" couples) in which at least one, if not both of the boys were supposedly "straight".   It took me out of the action.  I couldn't buy quite that many sexually fluid people at the same high school, I guess.    Earn says he's straight, but we're supposed to ship him with Noh/Pete.  Pete likes Yuri, but also we're supposed to ship him with Earn.  Om says he's straight, but he's into Mick.  And Per tries to kiss Win, can't do it (realistic and beautifully bittersweet, actually really liked their story), but then there still seems to be some chance he'll change his mind.  Phun/Noh were like that too, but the show took the time to show they were really in love, so I didn't mind it too much, despite both seeming to maintain they were straight to the bitter end.  P.S. I love Love Sick, so don't take offense.  But I just wasn't that enthusiastic about several of the side couples, compared to other fans.  P.P.S. I ship Pete and Yuri.  Come at me!

 

But Love By Chance is rocking it so far.  I like all the couples, and all but two of the characters seem to know they like boys from the beginning (Ae, Can?).  As you say, more couples=more love, and I'm rooting for all of them.

Yep, I saw that from Lazy Subber.  Looks like one of the ladies is going to be "evil".  Bummer.  Hopefully they made her less of a villain in the show.

I thought the original was 12!  This is all very exciting.  But really, guys, I'm going to have to get my head on straight and focus on life more.  I think this two week hiatus right after the first kiss was too much for me to bear. . . But 10 more episodes, once per week, takes us all the way to November 9th, assuming they don't skip any more Fridays.  I can't stay in this LBC fog for two more months. Hahaha.  MUST FOCUS on REAL LIFE.  Haha, you will be the ones to see how I do with that.

Exactly...so unless Ae says the words I was str8 before I met you Pete...I’m climbing down from the fence on the “G” side.  Accidents are worth it.

I and my friends were all early bloomers, so I would have found this highly suspect a year or two ago.  But I've since met some people in real life and online who really took a long time to figure it all out.  So it's definitely a fine direction for the story to take, in my book.  Oh my god, I really can't get over how cute I thought it was when Ae admitted it was his first kiss.  Being an early bloomer was fun, though. Haha.

Hummmm, it will be interesting to see Yuri as the "bad guy" in this show. I did like her character in LS. She was just a girl who liked a boy and tried her best t make that boy see her. Sure she was pushy and annoying at times but that's what a teenage girl is like when seeking attention from her special boy. 

I totally understand how hurt she must have felt and I was also really happy to see her try to move past all that and accept that she wasn't the one and that while Noh hurt her, he hadn't changed. He was still the good guy she liked from the beginning.

Again another parallel is happening here where the original 'good girl' becomes the new 'bad girl'. LBC is really doing it for me. I'm looking forward to everything it has to offer to the point where I'm not sure I'll even be mad if Ae is 'gay for Pete'. I'll have to wait and see.

Me too. Still unsure how it's gonna go...I like to think he's gay and that like baw74 said, he's a "late bloomer". But if (as I think that will the case) he's only ever attracted to Pete in the show, that will be hard for him to figure out anyway. Especially as he seems to have no interest for porn or anything else that could have awaken his sexuality earlier. And according to him, he never had sexual attraction to anyone before Pete, boy or girl. Honestly, I just hope we won't have to go with I'm-straight-but-it's-different-when-it's-you

This is exactly why I dropped MIR straight away. I will never get how some shows romanticize rapes/sexual assaults/sexual harrassments and a lot of fans are giggling in comments because what's-his-name is so manly and sexy hihihi. Ugh.

 

PS : I was shipping Pete and Yuri too  Never got the Earn/Pete storyline anyway.

I did make it through the whole cut, but it was like some sort of perverse fascination.  I could tell from the upbeat tone of the show that we weren't supposed to think it was "rape".  I was honestly just quite confused about the whole thing, since it was my first introduction to the whole genre. 

 

Man, some of the other BLs (especially the books/source material) are so icky, rape-wise. I know "force fantasy" is a popular porn/erotica theme.  But it doesn't go hand-in-hand with love and romance.  So I guess it depends if the viewer is looking to get turned on (if that's their sort of thing) or emotionally moved.  I just can't "ship" people who rape each other. 

 

Yay!  A kindred spirit when it comes to Pete and Yuri!  Hehe!  I have seen so many people saying stuff like, "If they make Love Sick season 3 and Captain won't participate, they should just make Earn and Pete the main couple."  I feel like I'm the only person thinking, "That's a horrible idea, I don't even want them to get together!"

That is the worst part to me  They didn't even seem to realise. That and the comments. Back then, there were maybe two people that had addressed the issue and all the others were going crazy over "sexiness" and manhood.Yulk !

I always watch Thai, Chinese, and Korean dramas raw. Without dialog I can 1) Focus on the acting and directing. 2) Listen to the language which is a good way to learn, 3) Not be handicapped waiting for subs.  Understand LBC is the first Thai drama to have subs in under 12 hours. Usually you are waiting for some kind soul ( who is usually in college) to sub a series ( if they like it ). Have to admit Lazy S is my fav cause she also throws shade in her comments and explains the nuances of various words.  TWM had subs pretty quickly too. So this is a new thing and says they ( production companies/TV stations are recognizing the growing international audience ( $$$).  So when I do get subs, I rewatch - kinda like a test to see if what I understood was said was accurate or not.  I also have a VPN that allows me to watch some dramas realtime - commercials and all ! That in itself is a real adventure.

Good Morning! Yes, i should have been fully asleep but the call of nature got me running to you know where. I keep my iPad beside my bed so i always check to see if there's anything important before i go back to sleep.

 

Yes, all on tender hooks here now. It's 7.39am Friday morning and we're only 2 hours ahead of Bangkok time.

 

I'm working from home today so it's a great Friday all round.
