Yeah. And in her scenes with HG she should look conflicted and sad instead of annoyed&bored. They could at least make her look sad when they are alone and he is not looking. Not to mention she is always smiling cheerfully when she is with other people like the grandma, JH, JE, etc. So she does not look like someone who just had to sacrifice her love and is hurting on the inside. But rather like someone who is already over it.

Like I mention before only reason she is like that because HG has not giving up once that happen things will come crashing down, she is always one step behind.

HG cant fight alone  here. :expressionless:

She has tried.  Well, she even made a whole birthday dinner for the mother, and we saw what happened.  It was important that what the mother did was probably the nastiest thing imaginable.  After being given $200 and asked to leave, how can HN think there is anything she can do about that piece of junk mother?   I don't know if any woman would think there was anything she could do anymore.   And she knows that that family has a guy who loves her to death, a colleague of hers who she knows will only say good things about her, and a dad who adores her own mom.   And HG has not said anything about if any of them even tried to talk to the mother.  She knows that even the sister worked with her on that birthday dinner and is sorta okay with her.  So many days after she made the birthday dinner, if none of these people have been able to do anything about the mother, should she even fight this?

Yes, she has not tried to tell the dad about her true feelings for HG.  But she probably senses that the strength of her love is not the concern the dad or mom has about her.  And she is right in that too.

yes I agree. Actually I am 100 % with HG. He is my number one character in the drama. I watch his scenes mainly. His facial expressions are wonderful. How he expresses adoration of HN, sadness, amusement, he is a great actor.

Looking sad, or even giving a kind smile to him, is all counterproductive.  She HAS given up on being able to do anything on her side, and truly thinks a breakup is the only option.  Then this is the only way to bring him to that conclusion, and to perhaps ease the regret of a breakup.  Even to make him see the gravity of the problem and do something about his mom, she has to do this.

@jayakris I know it would be counterproductive. That's why I said that the drama could insert a split-second moments of her looking at him sadly while he is turned away or talking to someone else. So HG would not see it but we viewers would.

remember when HG waited for HN in the rain and she came late. He told her he gave up and broke up with her. She cried and regretted being harsh with him. She said she is always a step late. But she doesn't fight. She gives up quickly. If HG leaves her this time too, she will regret it very much :(

This I agree with.  Yes, it would be so much nicer if the drama made an attempt to show that HN is truly acting harsh, and does not feel what she is showing on her face.  That is really why all of you are upset at her.   I too wish the writer had shown her crying quietly, somewhere else, even now.  Then we wouldn't have this discussion!

Just saying  a relationship takes 2 people to work, when one is not putting in as much effort for whatever reason its doom to fall part.

I like HN alot but so far she been way too weak with his family and gave up too quick as well even when she promise she would not twice.

I know she loves her mom but this isnt something she wants at all, now she going to have a unnecessary burden.

@jayakris Well said! What Drama Queen or HG's mum did by giving her $200 and asking her to leave is totally unforgiveable! HG felt so BAD to see it. It is THE 1ST DEGREE INSULT to anyone!

The fact that she BRAVELY cooked for her even after having water splashed right  into her face and accused harshly for lying when it was HG who told the WHITE LIE! HN has every right to cut ties thinking that in future this Drama Queen will control them even when they are married.

I just want to see Drama Queen on her knees BEGGING HN to get back together with HG after they break up as HG will be too ashamed to be with her, knowing that his class conscious & stubborn mum ONLY ACCEPTS her because she's JH's daughter!

yes me too. I like HN. But her attitude with HG is not strong enough. I like her innocence, cheerfulness. Actually at the beginning I preferred her to HG. In the first episodes, I watched the drama because of her. But now the writer doesn't allow HN to defend her love like HG does. That is why HG is number one for me now :)

So, according to kdramas anyway, there is no such thing as doctor-patient confidentiality in Korea, is there? I was wondering about SH recommending the family doctor for EA, but it was so that SH could ask the doctor to keep her informed about EA's progress with her memories. I'm kind of amazed actually that the medical profession in Korea don't protest that kind of depiction.

I guess from my point of view, while HN isn't off crying into a corner for love of HG despite her rejection of him, I thought her conflicted feelings were reflected fairly well in her demeanor. It is a bit of noble idiocy on her part. She's faced with what she thinks are insurmountable issues, including that HG and his mother are on the verge of being estranged because of her which she doesn't want to happen. It's that as well as that HG's mother has demeaned her beloved mother that caused HN to take the step. I think if HG's mother had stuck to being nasty to HN herself, she would have tolerated it, but she couldn't bear to see her mother hurt. As for HG and his mother, HN who values the mother-child bond doesn't want HG to permanently harm his relationship with his mother. Ultimately, I don't think HN understands how lonely HG felt because of his mother while he was growing up to understand why HG feels the need to stick with HN even against his mother. Also, HN doesn't fully grok the expression "No parent can win against her child." Ultimately, if HN would let the relationship with HG happen, HG's mother would be forced to condone the relationship even if she would never be truly happy with it. For instance, she wouldn't deny herself her grandchildren. :D However, I understand HN's concern that feelings may be unbearably hurt before that point of acceptance comes, and she doesn't want her own mother caught up in it.

I agree with this point. I think HG is lovely and manly for knowing his heart and fighting for his love.

Agree with everything in your post, except the grandchildren part.  We already saw that the woman wanted no grandchild from HanNa, unbelievable as it was.  I mean, that woman is something else!

Translation of a scene I liked from today's episode. It's the scene where HN goes to HG for a meeting about their product and they end up talking about themselves. Unfortunately, KBS doesn't allow video embeds, so here is just the link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHNczl0gXC0

(HG is sitting at a table in the meeting room when HN walks in and sits down.)

HG: Oh! You yourself came today.
HN: Since for several days, President and Leo has been having a hard time doing my share of the work as well.
HG: It’s been hard for me, too. From wanting to see you at each meeting.
HN: Let’s start the meeting.
HG: You’re free for dinner tonight, aren’t you? Let’s have dinner together with mother and Sa Rang-sshi.
HN: You don’t have to do that.
HG: I’ve already made the reservations at the restaurant, and I’ve already called your mother to let her know that I’ll be by to pick them up and escort them.
HN: Han Gyul-sshi, even though I can’t do anything about it for the time being, as soon as Mom has recovered, I’m going to tell her that I’ve broken up with you. So, you don’t have to go to so much effort to win her favor.
HG: Even though it’s a short time, until then, I still have a chance. A chance to turn Ha Nui-sshi’s heart back to me.
HN: Han Gyul-sshi
HG: Ha Nui-sshi was the one who taught me, that love is not something that only one person decides. So, please give me some time also. What results that time will produce, finding that out at the end, won’t be too late. What I’m certain of, is that even with our relationship, it’s not over until it’s over.

It was a bit sneaky of HG to set up the dinner with HN's mother first, but I still loved it. Then again, I'm totally on HG's side. And, I know that HN still really loves HG as well. Anyway, I love that HG is going to try to press every advantage he can to get HN to try again with him, despite knowing the odds. :)

@stroppyse thank you very much for your prompt translation of HG & HN 's conversation at the office.:P

Can you please also translate the scene  when the 4 of them were having dinner too? I feel that HG & SR are conspiring to make HN change her mind. Since SR likes him so much, I've a feeling he may have told her about their break up. SR even used the word "fighting" to HG to confirm my suspicion when HN wanted to return home. Best of all HG was over the moon when EA calls him "son-in-law".:D

That scene is a joy to watch especially  with SR & HN's mum teasing HG.

The other scene I liked from today's episode. This is the dinner with HG, HN, SR, and HN's mother.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8KGtrDM0DE

(They are all seating and eating at the restaurant.)

HG: Does the food at least somewhat agree with your palate?
HN Mother: It’s too delicious.
SR:This is someplace I’ve totally been wanting to come to. Brother-in-law is the best. Brother-in-law so great!
HG: Order everything that you want to eat…Sister-in-law.
HN: Han Gyul-sshi!
SR: Why? Since he’s calling me “Sister-in-law”, it makes me feel like an adult, and I like it.
SR: Brother-in-law, since it’s the person who is being called that who should decide, please go ahead and comfortably call me that.
HG: I’ll do that, Sister-in-law.
HN: Kang Sa Rang, are you going to be like this as well?
HN Mother: Why? Mom likes hearing that as well. Wait a minute. Then, should I be calling you “Son-in-law Lee” as well?
HG: I would really like that. Please comfortably call me that, mother.
HN Mother: I will, Son-in-law Lee. Oh, hey, that just comes so easily from my mouth, it’s nice. Son-in-law Lee!
(me: love the little look that HG throws at HN)
HN Mother: Hurry and eat.
HG: Please eat a lot.

(After HG drives them home)
HN Mother: (getting out of the car) Oh, that was fun.
HN Mother: (to HG) Thank you very much for today.
HG: (to Mother) Not at all. Next time, I’ll take you to a more luxurious place. (to SR) Sister-in-law, let me know if there are any trendy restaurants that you want to try, so that we can go together.
SR: Really? Oh yay!
HN: (Thank you for today. Please go home safely. Sa Rang, Mom, let’s go inside.
SR: Heeeyy! Sister can’t come inside already.  The two of you should at least walk once around the neighborhood. How can you separate immediately after just eating. Isn’t that right, Mom?
HN Mother: That’s right. The two of you should spend some time together and take your time coming inside.
SR: I’ll take really good care of Mom, so don’t worry, Sister. Fighting, Brother-in-law!
(SR and Mother go inside as HG takes HN’s hand.)
HG: I guess we have no choice. Let’s walk once around the neighborhood before you go inside.
(HN tries to extricate her hand from HG’s.)
HG: Oh? Mother spoke as she did, but you’re not going to listen to her and just go inside? Sister-in-law! Mother, Ha Nui is- ! (HN blocks HG’s mouth with her hand.)
HN: Okay. Let’s go. We can just go then.
HG: I knew you would do that.
(They start walking hand in hand.)

It's just so cheeky of HG! And, since neither SR or HN's mother know that anything is wrong between them, it's cute how they throw the two of them together. But, it's really that HG presses home any advantage that he gets. He isn't crass enough to start calling SR his "younger sister-in-law" first since that would be provoking HN, but when SR starts it by calling him "brother-in-law", then he's quick to accept it and then oh-so-naturally progress it further until he has HN's mother calling him "Son-in-law Lee". ROFLOL I think that HG is just being adorable in this scene.

@gladys57, just saw your request, and I was already working on it, so here is the post. :)
