I have lost my interest for both romance and bromance. Now I can't ship him with Poong.

I prefer the scenes between DSC with his gang brothers and granny LMS.

Ha ha ha. You can still dream because nobody has seen his wife. We don't have a concrete evidence yet and I'm sure we'll never have.

Just watched episode 15 with subs. A dejected DCS is too painful to watch. 

 

But his conversation with his minions - make me want to look forward to 2 things: their history with crooked and how they can hopefully destroy the evil hotel

ceo.

 

Next is his conversation with his ‘mum’ - why is the relationship like that? He doesn’t seems to know she is Mother? Or is she really Mother? Lol.

 

Dont think I will watch episode 16, will skip. People on JH thread will know I’m not a kdrama Addict and I only watch JH production. So I have nothing to watch in 16 haha!

 

Don’t get me wrong for real OTP shippers, I respect your side of the ship. We all have different opinions and preference, my ship is DCS and yours is Chef.

Just finished episode 16.. there is no funny moments of DCS  he is thinking of SP behavior to DSW though. Seems he figured out from what Granny LMS said on people hide their feelings with action. Seems

He only appeared for 2 minutes in ep 16.  But I guess they wanted to give more screentime to the drama's OTP to make up for the beautiful kiss of DCS and DSW in the freezer. The worst part is they don't have a preview for next week.  I'm done seeing a broken DCS. I want my happy gangster back!

I don't see how they can continue a love triangle after that conversation but the writer will probably do it anyway. DCS didn't really factor into her feelings which is why I was WTF when she asked for time. Let DCS move on now; I'm sure the husband will show up before long and they can do a love triangle there.

 

I'm so confused by the story or lack of it. They set up some conflicts (recipe book and DCS vs CEO) and romance/triangles with supporting characters which I don't care about at all but most of the characters feel like they are just standing around, especially the gangsters. Are they ever going to become chefs? All the promotion talked about it and they'll probably get to it but in the meantime they are just examples of characters not really doing anything.

So....after watching the last ep this week, I realize that it is definite that Poong and Saewoo are destined to one another. 

Poor DCS. But anyway, he might be thrilled to know that he has a mother who is actually there for him all along.

That chef who hid poong's recipe...I wish he pays for being so sneaky with practically everybody. If only that gum lady has magical power to switch his life with that big shrimp crushed under the wok.

I feel like she is DCS's mom, she's just hiding it for some other reasons. If she's not, then why does she keep appearing around him?

Yes, that's how I feel, too. In my guess, she likes Poong more than she does DCS, but she feels as if Poong doesn't like her and she's annoying/burden to him. But with him taking his ring off, not admitting about what happened at the hospital, hopefully, she can make up her mind and feelings. Like if she sees that Poong forgets his ex-wife, then maybe she can, too.

Finally caught up on the drama. First off give me MORE cooking scenes so the ones of them cooking up the shrimp three course was delicious.

 

Why did Poong vehemently say he did not give a piggy back or hug SW? I don't get him. I get he is all bluster and words but really now. (BTW So proud of seeing how Junho has grown as an actor and loved him in his last drama---wow) But even when she kept stepping on his sneakers he amazingly did not yell more at her. (the guilt?) But it was nice she washed the sneakers are apology. Then when MD threw it up and Poong saying to her she must be upset with him to have it dry (flung up and away not on the ground to dry as she left it). He did show concern to hyung CS and taking him the the hospital and also SW when she was fainting from hypothermia. (BTW Amazing she was able to drive at all to the hospital.)

 

I agree with others, the recording by SW will come in handy to prove that Poong invented the three course that is being mentioned to Wang Sifu by the guy who kept it for $180. Gosh you are cribbing word for word. Also cute that Poong was upset that SW was so concentrated on his hands and cooking that he was not happy he was not shown (his face) so his pouting was cute. Yup I am no longer your sifu as you don't respect me enough to not film my face. But here it is a dead giveaway his wedding ring and duh the cast.

 

The potential love /crush pairing of Geok Jung  and Bo ra---she might rat on that nasty cheater chef Sam Sun-I hope so.

 

Seok ja over Wang Sifu, glad she told him that she didn't want to be with him as she did not trust him or trust love. He willingly gave her 100x the money he took from her when she asked for 20x, but she looked on FIRE rejecting him. 

 

Crooked is so evil. I was not happy him crushing Poong's cast/hand with glee. I am surprised he DID  not ask to be further checked out. I mean later when teaching to cook he could hold the wok? Ok that is not consistent.

 

Could the gum lady be his mom figure (but not biological mom?) of Chil Seong? But I liked her advice to him at the hospital. You know there is a comfortable relationship and affection there.

 

CS is smart on the uptake wanting to check up on Crooked and CEO Ryong. Def shady dealings if he has Crooked on his bankroll. I mean his goons beat up Poong and cornered him in the bathroom away from the CCTV. Or at the dress shop he had his minions stop SW from leaving when the cufflinks of his was taken by his MINION! Glad that CS was there to be her knight in shining armour.

 

As for SW talking to CS, I am glad she was candid to an extent. She was not fully sure but the dream of the kiss with him and dream of the hug with Poong but admitting to liking Poong. It is true. When CS wants to spend more time with her, she leaves. But when she hears where Poong is she goes there. Or tries to be around him that hows interest. Same with Poong with her , after he realized she was the weird woman with the mask is actually the same woman that night wanting to commit suicide when he did at the bridge. (Totally got him more alert.) Both are definitely interested in the other. Just say you like her like CS has with her Poong!

 

Ok give me more food porn, gangster loyalty and antics. Enjoying the Hungry Wok team is working together.

then he took off the ring,  so they listened to music,

then he said he will make her noodles.

 

This last thing is enough to convince any girl.

My husband makes delicious desserts, everyone says I am so lucky. But I cannot afford to eat everything he makes else I need to work doubly hard to burn off those extra calories!! if So I always need to find subtle ways to avoid eating the treats he makes lol..

 

Trust me, when you reach my age, you won't want a boyfriend/husband who is a good cook, it is too agonizing haha...

DCS's love is unrequited???? B...but that kiss! She was affected by it....c'mon, it's beyond human comprehension for her not to like him back. Heck, if it were me in her shoes, I'd have grabbed him, kiss him back, and piggyback him all the way to hospital. My face would look like this  and this  because it's not easy carrying a man with abs on my back but my love for him would give me strength and speed.

I'm wondering if SW is more connected to Poong because they were both got married around the same time, and then lost their significant other in almost similar circumstances. They were both "dumped." SW because of her dad's arrest leading to her husband and his family to abandon her. Poong because his wife had an affair with his boss.

 

Poong, IMO, is trying to do his best to not show any emotion towards SW. Even though he finally took off his wedding ring, he's still technically married. They haven't divorced yet. Neither has SW. He won't admit to SW that her so-called dream of him hugging her warmly was real. At this rate, they're quickly developing a friendship/bond based on similar circumstances. Also, whenever they need to vent or release stress, they both end up going to "their bridge." Plus, he knows she still loves her husband.

 

Although DCS really likes SW, I feel she's not there in returning his feelings nor even halfway there. She may be attracted to him or appreciative for all he's done and helped her, but she's holding back because A) she is still married and still likes/loves her husband; and B) she feels a pull towards Poong.

They never registered their marriage. So technically he is not. In ep 3-4, Dal Hui mentioned that they don't need to go through divorce since they never registered their marriage. And I think DSW already signed or stamped on divorce papers which was provided by her ex-husband's parents. They are free to love each other whenever they want. They're just not that ready yet. Especially DSW.

 

My thoughts on how DSW feels about DCS, I think she is attracted to him. Why would she ask him for time if not right? She was already being honest and all. If she wants to reject him, she should've said it and ended it right there. But no, she chose to say "will you go easy on me? can you give me time, ahjussi?". Sigh. Guilt? I don't think so. When DCS said that SP doesn't like her, she answered back and said that it doesn't matter who likes her but what matters is who she likes. It's like saying "it doesn't matter if you like me, what matters is I like Poong". If there was guilt, she wouldn't say that to him. So IMO she is attracted to DCS but more attracted to SP.....for now... BWAHAHA. Just kidding. SP and DSW are still the OTP. 

 

When I was watching the hospital scene of DCS and DSW raw, I thought it was over. But when I watched it with subs, she asked for time. LOL. Since the writer of JI also wrote this, I think we still have 14 more episodes to linger around the love triangle.

While it is true that Poong and SW had a number of quite lovely extended scenes together in the last couple of mini-episodes, it is also true that in the two previous episodes SW and CS had some nice moments together too. So in my mind I don't think we can really conclude definitively that the writer is now just going to develop Poong and SW as the OTP. There are things that could point to that but SW's indecision complicates somewhat.

 

This is what I think... I could be wrong but here goes nothing.

I am sure that the writer is quite aware that many people who tune into Greasy Melo/ Wok of Love are fans of Hyukie. He is the established actor here even if he is supposed to be the 2ML. There are even people like myself and @kohnlee that are outright rooting for SW and CS. She can't not know any of that. Therefore it isn't in her interest to resolve the love triangle quickly as some people would like her to. Especially as we've observed, the ratings are already on the downward trajectory. She must know that the moment she kills the love triangle, there will be some who will abandon the Wok of Love ship altogether. On the practical and business side of things, they can't really do this.

 

I don't know why the ratings are headed that way... we can all speculate. Some people don't like the approach, I get it. But I enjoy the show for what it is... an insane rom com. Even if my pairing never sets sail... I'll be hanging on because I actually enjoy the craziness and of course, to see Hyukie in another rom com because he does so few of them.

 

I think both male leads have really good chemistry with JRW. That's not the issue for me... it's never been the issue. But if I am going to have to buy a particular pairing as the OTP, I need more than just random fortune cookie fortune telling and sexy close encounters of the wok kind. It's true that they have been abandoned by previous romantic partners so they could have that in common but that alone is a trope and not really enough meat. The writer could be parodying all of that anyway so all these "sexy" moments may come to nothing.

 

I was very surprised to see the kiss in Ep 14 (Episode 7) but what I got out of it (apart from an inward squeal) was that nothing's over till the fat lady sings. The writer will swing the pendulum between the two guys for a while. Maybe she's an unerring sadist and loves messing with the viewers, maybe she's testing the waters to see which pairing is getting the most traction. There's an even greater possibility of that being the case especially when there's no preview for next week's episodes.

 

The show of course, doesn't need to focus that much on the love triangle anyway and throw all their energies into happenings at the restaurant as well as CS' war with Crooked and Bad Boy CEO. Personally, that would be the better course of action than to have the camera on both guys making moony eyes at SW 50% of the time.

 

This is just me throwing my thoughts out there.
