[Drama 2018] What is Wrong with Secretary Kim, 김비서가 왜 그럴까

I like episode 4 very much. It might not be as thrilling as 3 first episodes but some deep feelings and right realisations are emerging. LSY gives me creeps. He's too smiley, too charming and trying too hard to be around LYJ. And we can clearly see that he is jealous of his younger brother, his position in the company and his skills. I don't understand him but I don't like him. He is trouble and it looks like he wants to have everything that his younger brother has. Those parents have no idea what to do with them so they act like everything is all right. I would really like for it to just be an misunderstading but it doesn't seem that simple.

I think I understand LYJ better after this episode. He is actually a normal person (he doesn't understand or knows some things but still) and all that exaggerated behaviour of his is just a way to avoid rejection. Every time he exposes himself to someone and that person doesn't get him right away he comes back to his shell. At least that's what I see. And he was acting like a normal person around his family members. Well as normal as he can in that situation but without that pompousness of his. And he really sees a lot of things around him.

I love that KMS gave LSY made-up phone number. :smirk:I hope that when she finds out about him being the bully she will treat him even worse and not fall under his spell.

And that ending... My god that ending...   That poor Hardworking Cow under them  :D

Oh and those quotes from that book are really beautiful and fit in this episode well.

I feel the same way @averia. LSY is way to smiley and so fake. At the diner LSY never interacted with YJ and didn't seem to care about anything until they mentioned Mi-So and he became  interested in LYJ. He even made an effort to talk to him so he can get more info on Mi-So .

I wondered was it his inferiority complex  that made him want to know about Park Mi-So or was it the way Young Joo changed the subject which peaked LSY's attention. IF everyone was to rewatch it, you will see he didn't much care for MS until YJ changed subject. I maybe wrong. I think they both feel inferior toward each other because one lack social skills and the other is very sociaable. Like LSY was popular and YJ wasn't because he had to skip grades. That is why there is so many misunderstanding and hatred toward each other.

I just love this drama!  PSJ and PMY's very attractive appearance, their clothes, their super chemistry and just their cuteness totally delight me.  I smile just thinking that I have this drama to look forward to and want to re-watch the episode as soon as I finish watching.

Her competency  and intelligence as a secretary are far more appealing than some ditzy, cutesy or clumsy secretary to wit the girl who is in training or the wannabe painted red lipped other office worker. His dependency on her strength as his secretary and her absolute smarts and astuteness make for an indispensable right hand person and for a strong female character in a Kdrama. Her truthfulness is surprising and I very much appreciate that his character does not react in having been offended and that her thoughts and ideas are of value to him.

These two actors have such appeal and this rom-com really tickles my romantic heart!

In ep 4, YJ and MS have and discussed what kind of opening event that suits and will look appealing to public and then MS gets the idea to have book concert event and invite an author to hold fansigning or  stuff like that. ...and guess whom she tries to get in touch? none other than Morpheus aka YJ's brother , Lee Seung Yeon.

She sent an-email already to Morpheus and even identified herself as Kim Mi So , secretary of YJ. That's why i bet SY (next week) will instantly agree to meet her in person and also perhaps would agree to hold a book event in the art centre (to YJ's annoyance)

Interesting plot to look forward next week, aside from the webtoon depiction which is very similar and exceeds my expectation :D

“What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” Writer Reveals Thoughts On Casting And What Viewers Should Look Forward To

Whats-Wrong-with-Secretary-Kim6.jpg

Scriptwriter Jung Kyung Yoon of tvN’s “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” answered questions and shared her thoughts on the drama.

Just one week after its premiere, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” has already become a fan-favorite on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Park Seo Joon grabbed the attention of female viewers and many also sympathized with the story of Park Min Young‘s character. The impending sweet romance between the wealthy, narcissistic Lee Young Joon and skillful, intelligent Kim Mi So makes an obvious, but fun story to watch.

Writer Jung Kyung Yoon

The drama so far is sweet and funny, without an evil character in sight. Jung Kyung Yoon said, “The reason why there isn’t an evil character is because that’s the style of my work. I usually can’t write about bad people. I met director Park Joon Hwa before the production of the drama and the director also said he doesn’t like evil characters. He has such a kind outlook, I think the drama will turn out better than the original, and I’m really excited.”

Jung Kyung Yoon also revealed her thoughts behind the casting of Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young. “I don’t have a specific model for the main character when I write,” she said. “For this drama, I wrote it while thinking of a vague image, but I screamed when I heard the casting news. Both of them perfectly fit the images of the main characters that I had thought about. They have beautiful appearances, but they’re also actors who are really good at acting. Not just the two main characters, but I was also surprised at how all of the actors who appear in the drama look like they stepped out of a comic book.”

The writer revealed what scene she was looking forward to watching on air the most. She said, “In the second half of the drama, there’s a scene where Young Joon (Park Seo Joon) strongly expresses all of his pent up emotions to Sung Yeon (played by Lee Tae Hwan). It’s the climax and one of the most heartbreaking scenes, so I’m really looking forward to it. I want to quickly watch this scene through Park Seo Joon and Lee Tae Hwan’s acting.”

She also gave a suggestion about what she thinks viewers should focus on while watching the drama when she said, “The two of them were together for so long that they’re in a situation where, like air, they’re completely transparent to each other. Please enjoy watching the process of them reestablishing their relationship as they push and pull after Mi So’s resignation announcement.”

She added, “When their connection from the past is revealed, you’ll understand what Young Joon’s love for Mi So looks like and Young Joon’s perspective on Mi So. I think it’ll be even better if you think again about fate between people. Also, please look forward to and generously love the drama that these great actors will create.”

At the rate they're going I think it will happen as what the commenter said in episode 6.... PD can't forever tease us with an almost kiss cause for sure he knows we will all get mad lol

Haha I’m not worried about that! Just wondering how they’ll expand and fill the story to fit 16 episodes  and also hoping angst isn’t drawn out to fit that. Give me more toe curling YJ-MS moments I’ll have them all!

My awww  ep 4  " Just for a little while

Let me stay like this for a little while

From now on I am going to be madly in love with you ....

so of course i wanted "Every moment was you" ..in english...and i don't see it coming up

I think it’s safe to post since it’s over: but correct me if I’m wrong— in the webtoon the book that YJ picked out to read of MS’ shelf was a romance novel, right? In Chinese the lines were um, slightly scintillating (think western romance novels) and YJ was embarrassed. Heehee.

Also when she first fell onto him in the webtoon, I think she said “so vice-chairman is also a man too..” as she recalled his broad chest, hee!

So far loving all the insights and speculations despite having read the comic! Also I really liked what the author  herself said, to bring perspective. The childhood connection ain’t too bad after all!

Is it me or does that Cow look even better with our OTP laying on top of it hugging...

A drama that keeps on giving...   Everything but kisses...  I'm starting to think this writer is just teasing us.  Not once, not twice but three times so close and yet so far....:confounded:

What's  Wrong With Secretary Kim?   She and the rest of us could use a good kiss!!!

It actually makes me pretty pleased that the drama has conflated some things and expanded on others from the webtoon! For one I’m really happy that Ji-ah and Gwi-nam get more

backstory to their characters, since that wasn’t very present in the webtoon.

I also have a whole plot spoiler thing written up so if anybody is interested tell me! Haha

Just finished watching ep 3 and 4

Loving:

  • the fairy-tale like background music (with violin and all) when they're in the amusement park and the cruise
  • the sound effects!! they make the funny gestures....funnyB)
  • yes..the hardworking cow:lol:
  • PMY's pony tail~~

Funny thing is both sons are extremely tall..they're overtowering their parents:D they must have their grandparents' genes or something or as some people might say..it's the food they're eating~

Still haven't read the webtoon yet but from the above article it seems that even the older brother isn't an evil character? Just guessing, maybe in the past, both brothers misunderstood each other or they both really did bad things to each other. Another guess (sorry if it's already mentioned in earlier posts), the older brother did something that caused LYJ to have such nightmare which maybe the older brother wasn't aware happening...the nightmare might have something to do with the ankle's scar..which I guess (the scar) was left by being tied with the cable ties? LOL, please don't laugh at me if my guesses miss the mark for those who already read the webtoon~

Me! I wrote up one too based on the Chinese webtoon translation and pm-ed a few here who asked for it... so I want to know if it is faithful to the Korean. But also just because I want to squee along.

Which brings to mind: I can’t recall who said this but YES I dunno if the original manhwa is censored but the Korean version one I’ve seen is, whereas the Chinese one isn’t! Don’t drool, girls. Haha.

it must be amazing that after 9 years they are experiencing these "accidents" of discovery ...i like the transformations that both are experiencing now ...my type of thrill lol ....also after the fight with brother when he went to her place , a first again ..and she walked down the street looking like poetry in motion in his eyes. moooooo
