thanks! My last read of the novel was a few months ago so the details are hazy now. I want to compare any changes in the flow and plot lines, but now I’m afraid I’ll just confuse myself. 

 

For instance, I can barely remember any of the mortal arc in the novel. I thought they just mentioned FJ and YQT having gone through some events together. Any memories of Consort Chen and the Emperor I have, I thought were from watching TMOPB.  did this happen in the first or second book?

Hi all!

I've been silently reading but can't contain how much I love this drama! I do think Vengo and Dilraba are the perfect Donghua and Fengjiu.. can't imagine other actor/actress play the roles.

I couldn't bring myself to read the novel fully because I expected changes to be made in the drama (like the mortal arc) so I hold off reading it until the drama finish. I do prefer DH actually reincarnated into mortal realm because the thought of FJ not being with DH when she thought she was is just.... no. 

Can't wait until the storyline picks up! Only 2 more days to new episodess!

 

@Dao Tran I think Dijun will remember because in the other final trailer (the one that includes the more funny scenes) DH said to FJ (in voiceover) that they were husband and wife in mortal realm so I assume that he remembers?

I just want the first night they will be together, both of them to be themselves and remembering, so it could be truly special. Really hope they won't push for sex in the mortal arc.

@jeenee i understand what you mean..just wait for the good part of how DongFeng scenes is gonna be..my heart telling it's will be mesmerizing and captivating..maybe at that moment your heart will tell you a different toward ZY and FJ.

I think they will do the deed though in mortal arc... considering the previews for ep 13-18

Tmop mortal arc they did do the deed too.  So what is the different for pillow book?

In TMOPB they did it in the mortal realm because it was the only option for them to be together. Here it will be pitiful if they rush things from the very beginning. After all, it's 56 episodes, not 16.

Bear in mind that these is my only opinion..purposely "Just for Fun"..i hope after this i don't feel an urge to compares Drama vs Books..i wanted to have all my attention solely to Drama bc of Vengo/Reba and DongFeng ...and right now..that's All matter.

 

In this Drama my assumption about Why DH didn't have a memory regarding his reborn/reincarnation into Mortal Realm maybe FJ asked Zhe Yan to give a potion/medicine to DH to altered his memory bc FJ did not DH to remember her ..she was somehow has interrupted DH fates in Mortal realm.. ZY do what he has to do in order to protect FJ.. ZY has done that to Bai Qian in TMOPB( in the book did mentioned Zhe Yan specialist in medicine..the one and only thing he can beat DH).

There's not other explanation how DH don't have a memory about his Mortal realm story. or unless Maybe Dijun drink amnesiac water just like Zhonglin and Elder Yunzhuang..to forget his bitterness and sufferings in Mortal realm. 

 

In the book it was mentioned that DH never ever goes to Mortal realm according to what Zhonglin has said.

An excerptions from the book:

Zhonglin said : "DJ spent half of his cultivation to stabilize it (Miaoyi Humming realm) and afterward went into a century long sleep.  At that time , wasn't there a rumour that claimed Dijun had reincarnated to Mortal realm in order to experience Mortal suffering( at that time Zhonglin also asked for help Elder Yunzhuang to take a part of DH's shadow Chen Ye and also Zhonglin did not remember bc after that he and the Elder  Yunzhuang drink amnesiac water to forget those matter).With Dijun personality, why would he have such a strange whim of wanting to experience human suffering? Taichen palace only spread such rumour to cover up the fact that Dijun was in a deep sleep" 

 

But when DH use his Miaohua Mirror to check what really happened to Aranya/ChenYe story seem like he knows everything including how he was supposedly has reborn into Mortal realm.

According to Xie Guchou DH will reborn in another thirty yrs . He told FJ right after he know about Aranya death and tell FJ that Aranya also failed to do a repayment to DH.

 

Miaohua Mirror should have the answer of all questions since the Author TangQi Gong zi did not emphasize more detail about Mortal Realm nor did she confirmed about DH real "Mortal Realm" situations.

For now let's us enjoy this drama to the fullest .

maybe he is gonna remember it later?? i dont think he will remember her after the mortal arc the cant change the story that much but maybe at the end of aryanas dream arc  when he learns all his previous story with fengjiu

The difference is In TMOPB DH was reborn/reincarnated (rebirth of the soul in another body) ..DH real body was still sleeping in Taichen palace.

And FJ in TMOPB also borrow another woman's body consort Chen.

 

So the parts where everyone seem to be so sure the consumation/deed will happen between Song Xuanren and Xioa Jiu was still just a guessed only..

 

We have yet to see what really happened in the next episode..so let us just patiently wait and see.

I feel like for the mortal arc, they kinda just mixed the TMOPB version with the book version
Might just be me, but I preferred the book version

...where DH doesn't actually go to the mortal realm, and FJ is just getting annoyed of the dude she thinks is DH, then in the end she finds out it was never him, so she really only truly loved DH.

...but I understand why they changed it

I'm sure many fans would be livid to see FJ with anyone other than DH lol
I also don't want them to sleep together in the mortal realm, I feel like it'll make their special moment in Aranya's dream less special  but we'll have to see how it turns out.


On an a side note though I surprisingly really like the casting so far!!
Besides the original cast of course, Ye Qing Ti and  Nie Chuyin are unexpected faves.
The new Bai Zhen is BEAUTIFUL!! I say Baron Chen is okay as Zhe Yan but I liked the TMOPB interpretation better.
I'm really missing Xiao Yan!!! He's my favorite and I can't wait for Fanyin Valley!
 

 

So far I'm impressed at how close they've interpreted the book , usual it changes so much from the original but I feel like this drama actually adds the details in between that the book didn't cover!
I feel like what I imagined the characters to be like has come across pretty well so far so I'm happy 
Plus the wonderful graphics, sets, voices, and pacing are a great plus!
Now just to see how the rest turns out tehehe

I read the book and I might say that I like the story in mortal arc. Nothing much have been mention on book, and drama version at least filled it.

 

Now base on siming words in official trailer, DJ will forgot the tragic romance he went through the mortal arc "When Emperor DJ went through the tragic romance, he may forget everything".

 

If he ever may know it I think it will not be on aranya's arc, but maybe during investigation abouy YQ to force FJ to show herself!?

YES EXACTLY!! There's just so much more impact that way!! But I guess they tried to follow the TMOPB equation :/
I get that it may be a little confusing with the flashbacks and having Reba and Vengo playing multiple characters makes it even more complicated, so I see why they decided to make it chronological...but still so much more impact if they started with Bai Qian's wedding
...on an unrelated note, I feel like the new Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen are great for the new BL craze going on in C-Dramaland lol
