True there probably is a misunderstanding! The grandfather is the type of person who's pride and ego comes before everything else so it's hard for him to express himself without him being rude to SG or he'll see himself as 'weak' maybe?

Also I just remembered didn't Choi goon say that mysophobia runs in SG family?is that supposed to be significant I wonder!?

True I'm glad choi goon isn't beating around the bush and is straight up with SG!  But I ship her with both and I don't know who I want as the end game ahaha if only CG was the bad boy type might that have made me like him less... I doubt it:joy:

I mean in the end grandpa did beat up Sun Kyul as a kid for playing in the dirt. So there is no mistaking in that. But I'm really interested to see how the drama will resolve this how whole issue and what role Secretary Gwon plays.

Btw... I wonder did Sun Kyul and Oh Sol meet when they were children? The girl who threw a booger into Sun Kyul's mouth and he fainted. Then she "reanimated" him. I wonder if that's the case. I mean I wouldn't mind if that wasn't the case but why show us those children scenes? :) Other than showing us yet again how Sun Kyul became the person he is now.

True the secretary is a mystery!

Hopefully they're doing this in order to help SG!

I'm sure the little girl is oh sol because by this point he already has mysophobia so she isn't the reason for it! They're probably showing it to show us the 2 main leads have a history as well and not just CG and oh sol! And he started smiling when she was jumping up and down same as when he does it for present oh sol! She's the only one who can make him smile!

@Jillia @Mymindisblank I believe that Secretary Kwon has been placed by SK's grandfather. Since her son is suffering from the same illness, I think, the grandfather must have proposed her the following offer: if she can make SK start working at his company, then he will pay for the therapy session from Daniel Choi. I also think that the grandfather was the one who had the phone number.

Oh that's an interesting theory. :) Well it would make sense since she seems to be very worried about her son (?) who suffers from mysophobia as well and probably doesn't want him to become like Sun Kyul as an adult. She wants the treatment as soon as possible.

On another note: here Sun Kyul as the damsel in distress and Joo Yeon being not so subtle about hooking up Oh Sol with Daniel.

I love this show, everything is so lovely, it's also one of those times where I'm not getting SLS, Daniel Choi seems almost creepy with moving there just because of her, and their interactions feel so forced sometimes, like how he put her face on his shoulder when she fall asleep while also putting his arm on her shoulder, also all the lying and hiding, and how old was he when he got a crush on her, because she was still in highschool.

On the other hand I love the interactions between the leads,  I liked how he slowed his pace to let her walk next to him and not behind him, it was sweet and also speaked about the way he treats his employee. The umbrella scene was loooovely, and the car scene as well, him not waking her up and instead choosing to sleep till she woke up.

A lurker here, but I agree with this. I thought I was the only one, so I stayed quiet.

Daniel has misrepresented himself from the start. He is guilty by being secretive and underhanded. It’s ok to have a crush, but be honest.

At this point I feel he only thinks of himself, and is taking every advantage available to him.  Riding the bus and putting her head on his shoulder and then putting his arm around her really annoyed me. Then, telling her He is going to speak informally to her, and then goes about touching her (poking her cheek), also coming into the house to eat breakfast, and his smirk, giving himself the upper hand, and smiling and waving to her. UGH, That was it for me. I do not like this about his character, totally disrespectful on all levels. Just because he is cute does not give him a pass. I hope this part of him changes. Just because he had a secret crush for years does not excuse this behavior.

I will take sincere, inexperienced CEO any day of the week over someone like him. Sorry if I offend anyone, no SLS here.

I’ve just caught up with episodes 7 and 8 and  I’m in love with our OTP so much. Every interaction is so sweet it makes me want to cry with happiness.

I love how SK just doesn’t know how to deal with how much he likes OS - the way he struggles to convey what he wants to say is so . And I love that OS not doormat nice. She’s nice, but she’s also strong-minded. I think that balance is hard to achieve. I also love (I’m saying ‘love’ a lot, because I love this drama - you might get that though, haha) that OS fights to stay near him, so she doesn’t just give up on her feelings. It’s rubbish to have heroines that only respond, aren’t confident in their own feelings, and just passively expect to be chased. (I find that in a lot of romance dramas I watch, the heroine is wishy washy and nice to the point of looking weak all the time).

At at the end of ep 8 when SK asks OS to stay by his side, I was expecting the camera to pan to Daniel hiding behind a plant or something because everyone is always 5 foot away when someone is confessing/kissing in this, haha.

I still don’t get Secretary Kwon. I mean, I understand she’s probably working for grandfather, but she doesn’t have to go into evil mode just because of that. It’s possible to act for grandfather and still care about SK, but man, she looks really cold hearted in some scenes.

I was totally thinking when she asked him in the cafe when he started liking her and he fobbed her off - maybe it was because he’d have to say when she was 15

i also don’t know if I’ve missed something, but why was her giving him the yoghurt so life changing for him?

Sorry if I’m all over the place!

The back story of daniel is likely sketchy...if it was 6 years ago... during the building collapse....technically he would have to be already in med school and maybe working to pay his tuition.

... so he would be likely 8 to10 years older than oh sol

He must have fast tracked his specialist training...cos 6 years is really not enough to graduate med school n specialise unless he was super brilliant... even then...

Oh sol is meant to be 21 22?

Just wish they didn't try to link up. Oh sol n sk in childhood... cos that makes him a 22-25 max..

Well....in k drama land they could all be super geniuses

What I liked about ep 8 was SK calling DC out... that's a man trying to fight but ineffectively...it was a hilarious scene with SK choking his words out repeatedly

I think the production team mess up the age for the leads. I remember in the summary from webtoon said that JSK is in his 30s while O Sol in her early 20s,right?  they did a bit wrong trying to include childhoood 1st love cliche  unless JSK has small stature when he's kid eventhough he's older than O Sol.

While CG is an original character which did not come from webtoon,so his age probably is in his early 30s too. I dont know med school, but he probably has started his studies and working as construction work as part time.

I had to think a bit about the critical points about Choi Goon / Daniel. And I can't really offer an explanation.

Personally I think they may have messed up a bit with the age of the characters. In the webtoon Oh Sol is in her 20s - I think even mid-20s - and Sun Kyul is older than her. I think early 30s.

Choi Goon is of course a character which was created solely for the drama.

The character descriptions don't offer any age but of course the storytelling leads to conclusions about which age the characters should be right now with their life experience etc. Even though in South Korea people are very young when they go to university and Choi Goon didn't really go to classical med school (or was this mentioned in the drama?). I think he is a neuropsychiatrist which doesn't equal going to med school to become a doctor. Neuropsychology is part of clinical psychology and most students take their minors in biology and neuroscience. I have co-workers who are in their mid-20s and are almost done with their psychology major. So I think it's possible to be young when graduating. And in the drama it's established that Choi Goon is relatively young for a neuropsychiatrist, especially with his reputation.

Still I don't want to disregard the worries expressed here. Just saying that the writing definitely isn't perfect in that regard.

As for his behavior to move to the rooftop apartment. Maybe I'm so used to Korean drama characters being close to being stalkers I almost don't question certain motives. But again I can't and don't want to speak up against those worries. :)

I think I liked Choi Goon as a character more when I knew he does live there by chance and maybe fall in love with Oh Sol because they have some rooftop interactions/talks, not the "we met when you were younger and you were nice to me hence why I fell in love and now I live on the rooftop of your apartment"-plot. I hoped that he wants to be a neuropsychiatrist but maybe - just like Sun Kyul - not meet his parents expectations by having a big practice and as a protest lives like hobo in a tiny apartment while still having patients.

So I think understand the worries and I think it's really a problem because Choi Goon has been created for this drama hence why his character feels less thought through.

That is so true. Korean drama are good at these that makes us forget that it can be scary in real world. lol

I've been watching Korean dramas for so many years I feel like they have improved a lot in regards of male behavior towards women. Still problematic but not as terrible as 10 to 15 years ago.

I have to say it's much better now. But you know, the usual formulas are still what people love. All the tropes. It is needed to keep the drama going and to create these moments. This is why k dramas  have such a following

------------------------------

With regards to Dr Choi...

Spoiler

If we are spooked out by Dr Choi moving in above , I think we have to start questioning things like the leads planting a kiss on each other without consent - I mean IRL if your boss swoops in to kiss you when you aren't dating each other  , that could easily be seen as harassment. But here we are squealing cause we root for the OTP's interactions. So I don't really see how Dr Choi is being creepy - cause if he was the lead , it would have been seen as romantic. Think it's all about perspective

I agree with what you said about Choi Goon. Also, we're watching a drama here. Logic and realism is highly unlikely. I don't think the writer or PD meant to show Choi Goon as a person who following Oh Sol. Again the worries are warranted if viewers feel that way. But yes, the kissing back and forth - and we have to remember that Oh Sol kissed Sun Kyul as well without his consent - in RL isn't cute at all and inappropriate as well. But in dramas we forgive a lot if we find the couple cute.

@faithinme lara

I think in the webtoon there is a love triangle as well. But I'm not sure. I think in the webtoon one of the male cleaning fairies is interested in Oh Sol. I think they didn't want that in the drama. :) But I could be wrong.
