After seeing him with Bae Seok Ryu, Jang Tae Hee keenly observed that “whenever Seok Ryu smiles, you automatically smile too,” forcing him to come to terms with his feelings.

“Love Next Door” is a romantic comedy by the director and writer of the hit drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” Jung So Minstars as Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry. Jung Hae In plays her mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo, whom she considers a dark and embarrassing chapter in her life.

In the last broadcast of “Love Next Door,” Bae Seok Ryu discovered that Choi Seung Hyo has had feelings for her for a long time. She found the letter in his room that had been hidden in a time capsule. As she read the letter, which expressed unspoken emotions, she appeared flustered. However, Choi Seung Hyo brushed it off as a trivial joke. After that day, Choi Seung Hyo began to distance himself from Bae Seok Ryu. Uncomfortable with the awkwardness and not knowing the reason for it, Bae Seok Ryu sought him out again. When he confessed, “Back then and even now, you drive me crazy,” she sensed that his feelings for her were more than just friendship.

The newly released poster hints at a shift in the relationship between Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu. The poster shows Bae Seok Ryu leaning on Choi Seung Hyo’s back and gently holding his wrist, creating a sweet, heart-fluttering atmosphere like a new couple in the early stages of dating.

Additionally, Choi Seung Hyo’s ex-girlfriend Jang Tae Hee (Seo Ji Hye) still has lingering feelings, further complicating their relationships. The 10 million-viewer film 'Spring of Seoul' starring Hwang Jung-min and Jung Woo-sung has been selected as the Korean entry for the 97th Academy Awards International Feature Film category. 

According to the Korean Film Council on the 4th, 'Spring of Seoul' was unanimously selected as the Korean entry for the 97th Academy Awards International Feature Film category. 

The jury stated the reason for the selection, "There was almost no disagreement about the film's perfection in that it evenly encompasses the film's dramatic fun in dealing with tension, the directing ability that maximizes the actors' acting feast into the realm of mise-en-scène, and its outstanding insight into history."
 

They also added, "We hope that the film's portrayal of the illusion of charisma and the caricature of evil will be sought as a timely metaphor for the film's thematic aspect and will be nominated for the Academy Award." 

'Spring of Seoul' is a film depicting the 12/12 military rebellion that shook South Korea in 1979, and stars Hwang Jung-min and Jung Woo-sung. It was invited to major overseas film festivals such as the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival and the 26th Udine Far East Film Festival. It was released in Korea in November last year and surpassed 10 million viewers in about a month, and was a box office success, mobilizing over 13 million viewers in the end. 

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in March of next year. Whether or not 'Spring in Seoul', which is being submitted this time, will be selected as a preliminary candidate will be confirmed at the end of this year.

“I, the Executioner” (also known as “Veteran 2”) is off to a strong start at the box office!

On September 14, the Korean Film Council announced that as of 2 p.m. KST, “I, the Executioner” had officially surpassed 1 million moviegoers at the Korean box office. The new sequel to the hit 2015 film “Veteran” was released on September 13, meaning that it took less than two days to reach the milestone.

Notably, “I, the Executioner” surpassed 1 million moviegoers one day faster than the original “Veteran” film, which reached the milestone on the third day of its release back in 2015.

“I, the Executioner” is now tied with “The Roundup: Punishment” for the fastest film of 2024 to hit the 1 million mark, overtaking recent blockbusters “Exhuma” and “12.12: The Day”—the latter of which was the biggest box office hit of 2023.

By September 15, the film had already reached a total of 1,271,191 moviegoers.

In honor of the film’s achievement, “I, the Executioner” stars Jung Hae In, Hwang Jung Min, Ahn Bo Hyun, Jang Yoon Joo, Shin Seung Hwan, Oh Dae Hwan, and Kim Shi Hoo joined director Ryoo Seung Wan for a celebratory group photo.

“I, the Executioner” (also known as “Veteran 2”) shows no signs of slowing down at the box office!

On September 18, the Korean Film Council announced that as of 9 a.m. KST that morning, “I, the Executioner” had officially reached a total of 4,001,565 moviegoers.

The long-awaited sequel to the hit 2015 film “Veteran,” “I, the Executioner” was first released on September 13, meaning that it took less than six days to hit the 4 million mark.

Not only did “I, the Executioner” reach the milestone faster than the original “Veteran” film (which took 9 days to surpass 4 million moviegoers), but it also beat the recent smash hits “Exhuma” (9 days), “The Roundup” (7 days), and “12.12: The Day” (12 days).

In honor of this latest achievement, stars Jung Hae In, Hwang Jung Min, and Shin Seung Hwan posed for a celebratory photo together.

On September 30, OSEN reported that Jung Hae In will be appearing on the show and is scheduled to film with hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Cho Sae Ho soon.

 

In response to the report, CJ ENM confirmed the news, revealing that Jung Hae In’s episode is scheduled to air on October 9. His appearance is part of the promotional activities for his new film “I, the Executioner” (also known as “Veteran 2”). During the show, he will share behind-the-scenes stories from the film, talk about working with Hwang Jung Min, reflect on his viral fan service during stage greetings, and more.

 

Jung Hae In is also currently starring in tvN’s hit drama “Love Next Door,” marking his first-ever role in a romantic comedy.

Jung Hae In’s episode of “You Quiz on the Block” will air on October 9 at 8:45 p.m. KST

tvN’s “Love Next Door” has unveiled a new making-of video filled with playful moments!

“Love Next Door” is a romantic comedy by the director and writer of the hit drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” Jung So Minstars as Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry. Jung Hae In plays her mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo, whom she considers a dark and embarrassing chapter in her life.

The newly released video captures Jung Hae In and Jung So Min filming their characters’ lovey-dovey moments. One scene takes place in the office kitchen, where they create a romantic atmosphere while preparing a meal. As Jung Hae In lifts Jung So Min onto the kitchen counter, he expresses concern about whether his action might hurt her ribs, highlighting his sweet personality.

Their off-screen chemistry shines through as they casually exchange ideas and playfully prepare for their intimate scenes, leaving viewers eager to see more moments with the two of them together.

Another segment features the filming of their kiss scene. While both actors remain professional to authentically convey their characters’ emotions, the two often break into laughter, revealing their genuine friendship.
