I was thrilled to bits at the prospect of a second season as I really liked the first but was a bit disappointed that we're not getting the original cast back together. The trio had great chemistry and I really, really liked Zhang Ruoyun as Qin Ming. 

 

@sugarplum892 Dr Qin 1 isn't a prequel but the first installment or predecessor. The word "prequel" refers to a book, film or series that comes chronologically before the original that's written/produced/released later than the original... if that makes sense.
