Oh thank you for the updates on what happened! I have been so stressed because of everything that happened in the episode the day before that I have been scared to watch and see what happens to our MS and GB....should we give our couple a nick name?

Anyways, @naeus @Mau_Cherry @dito and everyone else, I completely agree that the doc is doing something to our poor MS brain. But, if his memory is coming back it doesn't make sense that his brain is deteriorating. Besides, doctors don't know everything and stranger things have happened.

Maybe MS's brain is starting to rewire itself which could possibly appear to be deteriorating in the scans, but in reality is changing its structure!!!!

I have a cousin who was born with only half of his brain and all the doctors said that he would never walk or do anything. And he can walk, hold a intelligent conversation, has played basketball, gone to college and so forth. Stunned the doctors, but it boiled down to his brain had rewired itself.

But I also agree with the hypnosis theory...that his digression of memory has been in part due to them. I hope he continues to not trust the aunt and see a different doctor...he could be actually doing better than he thinks!

@dito thanks for watching it. Well technically if the romance confession is in ep 9 then it follow the average Kdrama time line.

Except that we are sidetracked by the degenerative brain disorder. This writer is confused about what he or she wants. GMS is a neurologist. Stupid idiotic nonsense about neuroscience expert. If the show wants a neuroscience genius the character won't be a medical graduate. A neurosurgeon won't usually have that sort of mild laidback character. It takes a certain personality to choose to be a neurosurgeon vs other surgical specialties.

And if the doctor is so manipulative and unethical hope he is struck off the medical board. And one last gripe with the dang writer. Make up your mind. You wrote him with an acquired brain injury. Go read up on the stupid thing you invented- there is no such Cinderella ABI syndrome- and who the heck has a trauma induced injury that degenerates rapidly and dies? Especially with such a rapid deterioration. Let me slap you on the side of the head you twit. If you give a neurological condition it will show up on MRI right? If you gave a slow leaking brain aneurysm- snort of course you didn't- but then no one has an asymptomatic brain aneurysm and live and be functional. They usually stroke out on the spot when it burst.

So what the stupid heck medical or surgical cause brain invention did you give GMS? It can't be surgical cos'  GMS' doctor is not a neurosurgeon. So it must be a neurological condition. From a trauma 3 yrs ago. That can kill? Go concentrate on the rom com aspect of the story instead.

Considering how the writer has intentionally made MS keep his counsel. And not told anyone not hopeful we will have à decent ending. Well this doesn't seem like a melodrama sort of drama. So don't think he should die at the end. However don't want KJ to end up with HI either. Those 2 money drain idiots will spend all of Sunwoo Group's money if they ever end up as a couple. 2 self absorbed self- centred, expensive tastes, whiney characters.

There. Got it off my chest.

Now I will go back to CJH. The whole reason why I am sitting through this. I will listen to his voice. So so swoony. He can sprout whatever drivel he wants I will still listen. He has the perfect pitch that makes me heart melt.

The writer though... if you ever want to write or use a medical condition as a plot point; make sure you make a believable syndrome. A trigger, physical evidence via blood, MRI or x-ray to show progression of disease. And a stupid mortality rate at least.  Who gets this sudden drop dead from increased brain pressure- how was he supposed to die other than from raised ICP- if he thinks something in year 3 and drops dead. However if you give a sudden death in year 3 and its surgical then its an aneurysm so why will it suddenly or why let it burst rather than do a coiling now? Why wait. Hang on... did I pay attention to those scenes and miss something? The neurologist who has been seeing him won't be neurologist but rather a surgeon in the story if that was the case.

And please, no rare and never seen before physically improbable thing. Try to make it close to another known documentated condition. Don't you know that's how you're supposed to research stuff like this? Look at pure medical dramas out there. That's how it is done.

I love this.....I was so waiting for you to make a post like this.:thumbsup:

@bold......Exactly my thoughts about those two....literally no use to the story.

And I agree CJH is what I'm watching this for...and occasionally SHY.

I really hope his next drama with Jang Nara has a good writer....coz I really want to watch it and like it.

Sorry for cutting your post.

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Ma-Sung FINALLY remembers WooHooo~ :D

I pity poor Gi-Bum though...poor girl she must have such a neck ache from kissing Ma-Sung ahah:w00t: but it was a long 3 year wait YO.<_<

And Ki-Joon ah...stop denying you don't like Ha-Im 'cause it's obvious you do ... Don't fight it anymore. I LoL when he tried to give her a flying kick!

Hot damn Choi Jin-Hyuk looked SO good in that white suit. He was like an angel eheh:wub:

Really wished they had a Healing Village here in my country... ageing is a issue that needs to be taken seriously as do mental health.

Yeah sorry @dito it was in the middle of the night and the recap made me irritated with the drama. However I have watched the episode and I have basically decided that CJH can sprout drivel and I would listen. Even when he sprouted the most infuriating lines I listened with a smile.

All jokes aside been broody yesterday. One of my friends posted her acquaintance's post yesterday. Her colleague just decided to stop his ventilator. A young father who had a neurological disorder. He wasn't a neurologist but the same profession. Heartbreaking news. And I had another young colleague die this week. Both under 40. Hits home I guess since both in the same field as me.

NiF is a well written drama . I’m at eps 17 . Am a bit slow watching it coz unlike k dramas , I need to really concentrate on the conversation, so I don’t watch many episodes in a week .

By the way , does she know about the accident yet ? That is the most important thing he has to tell her

Sadly the preview shows GB will learn about the accident. Someone tells her it happened because of her :cold_sweat:

(tks to IG video owner @peizheng4060)

:P *ouch* my neck.. ops ops..

i hope they muak again in ep. 9 next week --> looks more comfy:blink::

:glasses:

wowww  so good.  A great effect on the vanishing kiss scene as if a passionate kiss melts them away
Sorry to say  GB isn’t smiling in their hug because she learns about the accident and she thinks it happened because of her.

Btw  Korean fans came up with a new name for OTP: Princess couple
공(마성)(Gong MS) + 주(기쁨)(Joo GB) => 공주 (Gong Joo)(princess in korean)

Spoiler

Yeah I know now so I edited it  hehe  :tears:;)

EP 8: The ending hooked me good. Loved the beautiful scenery. Ma Sung in his white suit. Totally teared up when he remembered their time together 3 years ago. This was the best part of the episode. ❤️ His slo-mo running scene looked so dramatic though. xD Wish he gave her a backhug more than the kisses. Wish he had explained the truth to her too, but that might be coming in the next episode (according to the preview). It's exasperating that they keep dragging this out.

Ki Joon was so whiny in this episode. Spoiled brat. Maybe he will take his life more seriously after he learns the full truth about Ma Sung. Or maybe not. Maybe it's better not to tell him cuz he seems like the type to spill the beans too easily.

Watching ep.8 made me almost wanted to give up on the story and just stay for the beauty of CJH, but... the last few minutes made it all up (:P I had goosebumps watching them:wub: finally!) so I'm willing to give the writer another chance for proper plot development.

The only thing I like (except of course the last few minutes) was that GMS decided not to trust Dr.Yoon anymore. Honestly I'm not following the medical condition very well, esp.since it is a made up condition (I'm here mainly for the romance) but I hope the medical stuff get sorted out soon. Was it really said that he's not going to be able to live long? That his brain/cerebrum is shrinking fast?

O, and also like it when GB stood up to Kim and declared she'll look into what happened 3 years ago... his face, lol....

Back to replaying the last few minutes of ep.8.... :P

You know....for a man who has a rather serious mental condition his intelligence doesn't seem to have gone down at all. I think it might be important later, but I though the whole conversation with MS and the Agent and answering math questions was seriously impressive. The fact that he can calculate those huge numbers in his head so quickly is genius level...so why did they show that? It was established earlier via the quiz show that MS is extremely smart, so why show off his genius levels again? Is it just me that thinks there is a reason the writer did that? I mean it wasn't even a Product Placement scene...is this to hint that his brain has the capacity to continue to work properly?

Sorry it just doesn't make sense that they keep saying his condition is serious and he apparently will eventually die. Also they say that his brain is shrinking and deteriorating...other than the doctors saying this doom and gloom...we really haven't seen other than he forgets where he is at and what he has done. I haven't seen him forget how to do his job, how to add, how to drive or anything else of intelligence. He just forgets what he was doing previously.

Any thoughts?

Random this and that thoughts:

1) Not sure I enjoy the overall flow of this script.  As a drama - enjoyable yes but my focus definitely is :

CJH, and his VOICE. Totally in it for CJH. Missed the dude since he enlisted - I didn't catch Tunnel.

These days I am replaying his sexy rendition of the ER Couple OST ad nauseum in the car.

Like:

=  OTP moments and interactions   -  though NOT ecstatic abt his buying the cafe and reserving table for her.

= I like my heroines independent, determined feisty and thankfully she's all that. With ck1Oz  that the man can sprout drivel and I will still listen to CJH speak deliciously-sexy gibberish. :P

= Love JGB and her bestie friend moments.

= Love the Secretary + GMS moments

= Love ethical CEO Jang

2) Song Ki-joon (LOL Song Joon-ki :P ) totally irritates me. It's like his only script mandate is just to act like an OTT blustery  fool, and just when you think it can't get any worse -  an even bigger blundering fool!

Even more so than the actress Ha-Im (at least that one is just self-centred selfish). Please hitch them together soon and pack them off to Siberia or something, with as many real and fake fur collars as they need .Save the time and screen space for more OTP moments please! And hey bring back those per-episode shower scenes yo, while writing all  that in. :P

3) The amnesia plot - how come GMS can recognize his irritant cousin Ki-joon each day and recognize he's there for something each time? And his secretary ... and everyone else on a day to day basis?

 - Why even write GMS as a neurologist? If he has to visit his own neuro specialist just to get his own MRIs/CT scans etc - why not just make GMS some other type of medical specialist instead?

 - In Kdramaland ... they just wait at seperate gates in the same playland ... diff entrances at parks, cinemas, airports, wherever etc forever. They don't ever use their cellphones, in one of the most IT tech-savvy countries  - Korea.

That garden looks familiar ... wasn't Park Shin-hye touching those Roman Statues in one of her dramas? When she was in a convent.

I hope no Noble Idiocy arises as a result of her finding out about the accident.

I like the relationship between the cousins. This is how cousins should act minus cleaning after their messes lol. While SKJ is amateur brat, at least he is not plotting to kill his own cousin.

Yey, finally he regained his memories, let the romance begin. And I love his voice:love:

 thank you for providing us with the magnifying glass...

I really love the comfortable interaction they have in the BTS clips. I never feel the urge to ship CJH with any of his past co-stars until now... on the verge of shipping them :P

lol, you all are so hilarious..

one thought: MS was clever enough to use voice recording to prevent his secretary from resigning. So, maybe MS is not as naive as we thought before. If the writer is a fan of domestic-thriller-novel, I won’t be surprised if we have some twisted plots later on.

@ktcjdrama @triplem @gutibear @supergal99 First, I was a little hesitating watching the episodes from this week because of the complains. So now I have finished watching both and it wasn't so bad. Sure, I wished, GMS had already explained the accident, especially after the second missed date.

However, I don't think that the writer made such mistakes like presenting GMS as a genius, while on the other hand it is said about him that his brain is shrinking and deteriorating. In my opinion, he is not seriously ill like he thinks he is. Why do I think so?

First, his illness is supposed to be a secret and yet, KBS hears from his secretary about the curse of conglomerate family. He discovers from him that GMS's brain is dying due to the accident from 3 years ago. So there are rumors about his illness circulating indicating that his illness is not a secret in reality. This rumor is used by Chairman Gong. They are already expecting him to die at a young age.  Then who said that his brain was dying and shrinking? It was the doctor Yoon.... and he told GMS and the chairman Gong about it. GMS is convinced that he is dying. Sure, we know that the director Yoon wants to get the position of the Center director. But what if he didn't lie just to GMS but also to the chairman Gong? Why should he mention it to her, when he is clearly aware that GMS is remembering things? He knows that GMS is remembering JGB each day and he doesn't need to read his diary for that. Why did he point out his "illness" to her?

I suspect that there is more to it. I believe that since GMS's brain was severely damaged after the accident in Hainan, Yoon was sceptical about his recovery. My theory is that Yoon knows perfectly well what would happen if GMS was declared to be in recovery and would no longer suffer from his accident. In my opinion, he might have discovered that Chairman Gong tried to have him killed three years ago. By turning him into a "dying" man, he makes sure that his life is not in danger. I do think that Yoon used hypnosis in order to stop his recovery and mess up his memories.

Then we all witness GMS's "illness". However, I have the impression that GMS is actually more suffering from a trauma caused by the flashes (intense lights) than a real physical cause (dying brain). Remember that after the accident with his parents, while he was laying on the ground, he saw the lights from the coming cars and couldn't bear the intense lights in his eyes. When his aunt spoke to him at the funeral (terrible words), just after hearing that, he was confronted by the flashes of the cameras... That's why he can not look into intense lights, these function as triggers for his trauma. He is remembering all these painful events. However, his brain has already started healing hence once confronted with the intense lights, he remembers his past memories. In my opinion, he is also little by little recovering from his trauma:

  • When he came to the studio and was playing the brain game, he fainted once he was confronted with the spotlights. So this was his worst reaction: his trauma was so severe that he felt like he was dying.
  • In the episode 7, he forgot his date but a buried memory from his past resurfaced. So he somehow suffered a little (headache, dizziness aso), yet he didn't faint at all. So his condition is improving.

Yoon lied to GMS saying that the results were not out yet and he was surprised by the results. He has noticed that GMS's brain has changed and improved. To conclude, Yoon might not be entirely on the chairman Gong's side either.

Since GMS booked a room in a hotel for JGB three years ago, JGB might have ended up in that hotel room with that Hallyu actor. This was better in order to remain anonymous. Nevertheless, the killer sent after GMS thought that the actor was the person he should kill. Thumbnail

We shouldn't forget that the killer located GMS with his car. Someone must have told him where GMS was staying as he had used his credit card... so the killer just went to the hotel room and killed the actor believing that he was GMS. He hadn't seen his face and he knew that he was with a woman which looked a lot like the woman he had seen with him.

I think the hotel room where the murder happened was the actor’s room. I can’t see how he knew that MS booked a room for GB. And if the murder did happened in the room that MS booked for GB, don’t you think MS should’ve been tangled with the case? Since it was his CC that he used to book the room?

What if, MS never booked GB a room? what if, that room was for himself..remember that not long after we heard him calling someone to cancel his flight? So he already decided to stay another night until he help GB find her group. We also never heard him mentioning to GB about any room.

Ugh same here chingu! I’ve just binged and caught up with this show, absolutely love chemistry with couples and the story is engaging despite the occasional ring arounds. My only problem is that it’s about time she knows already! I don’t want her to find out in the last episode like some shows did in the past about the love interest finding out the characters secret *cough*
