Plot

Song Geu-Rim (Kim So-Hyun) works as a radio program writer. Her mother is blind and as a child she listened to the radio frequently with her mother. This led her to become a radio program writer, but she isn't exactly talented in writing. Now, the radio program that she works on is facing cancellation. Song Geu-Rim succeeds in casting top actor Ji Soo-Ho (Yoon Doo-Joon).

Yoon Doojoon will play the role of an A-list celebrity who, despite being unable to talk without a script, ends up becoming a radio DJ.

 

 

 

 

Kim So Hyun as Song Geu Rim

Song Geu-Rim works as a radio program writer. Her mother is blind and as a child she listened to the radio frequently with her mother. This led her to become a radio program writer, but she isn't exactly talented in writing.

 

 

 

 

Yoon Park as Lee Kang

Yoon Park will be playing the role of Lee Kang, a highly capable producing director who is as insufferable as he is talented. The character is notorious for his difficult personality and his unreasonable expectations for his staff, which drive no less than seven assistant producers to the hospital. After firing 12 different DJs, Lee Kang makes Song Geu Rim an offer she can’t refuse—he promises her that if she manages to cast Ji Su Ho, he will make her the head writer of his show.

 

 

 

 

YuRa as Jin Tae Ri

Yura will be playing Jin Tae Ri, a fading star who used to be the most in-demand actress in Korea. Although she was once an A-list celebrity, Jin Tae Ri’s career is on the decline, with both her fans and her casting offers steadily decreasing in number. Just as she begins to worry that she may not be able to continue acting for much longer, she happens upon a family secret of Jin Su Ho’s, which she attempts to use to her advantage to restart her career.

 

 

 

 

Kwak Dong Yeon

Kwak Dong Yeon will be playing the character of Jason, a psychiatrist who is also Ji Su Ho’s high school classmate. As the actor’s chief confidant and personal doctor, Jason stays close by Su Ho’s side, constantly urging him to talk about his problems.

 

Ha Joon

Ha Joon will be playing Ji Su Ho’s longtime manager Kim Jin Woo, who managed to rise from road manager to agency director using his skills alone. He takes care of even the most minute details for the actor, and he is not afraid to play the villain when it comes to protecting his star. Kim Jin Woo also shared a brief flirtation with Jin Tae Ri in the past.

Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon To Make Acting Comeback As Lead In Upcoming KBS Drama

Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon will finally be returning to the small screen!

A source from the group’s agency Around Us Entertainment revealed on November 9, “Yoon Doojoon has been confirmed to appear as the lead male role in KBS2’s new drama ‘Radio Romance’ [working title].”

“Radio Romance” explores what happens when a top star who likes to follow a script becomes a radio DJ, and how people become comforted by listening to the radio.

This production will also mark the singer’s first drama role in two years since “Let’s Eat Season 2” and “Splash Splash Love.”

“Radio Romance” is currently in talks to premiere sometime in the first half of 2018.

Yoon Doo-Joon (‘Highlight’) is cast for the lead male role in new KBS2 drama series “Radio Romance” (working title). Story for the drama series will revolve around a top star who becomes a radio DJ. The DJ must then deal with various problems. “Radio Romance” will first air January, 2018 in South Korea. KBS2 hasn’t decided whether the drama series will air on Mondays and Tuesdays or Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Kim So-Hyun offered lead female role in KBS2 drama series “Radio Romance”

 

 

Kim So-Hyun has been offered the lead female role in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Radio Romance” co-starring Yoon Doo-Joon (‘Highlight’). Kim So-Hyun is currently positively considering the offer. If she accepts, she will play the character of Song Geu-Rim. She works as a radio program writer and has been working there for the past 5 years.

“Radio Romance” will first air sometime between January and February, 2018 in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Jugglers.”

Kim So Hyun & Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon May Reunite In New Drama

Kim So Hyun has received a casting offer to appear opposite Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon in KBS’s new drama, “Radio Romance”!

On November 27, a representative for Kim So Hyun confirmed, “It’s true that she has received a casting offer for KBS2’s ‘Radio Romance.’ She is currently reviewing the offer optimistically.”

Should the actress choose to take the role, it would be her fourth time working together with Yoon Doojoon, who was cast earlier this month as the male lead in the drama. The two first collaborated in 2014, when they appeared together in a food commercial.

Yoon Doojoon also made a cameo appearance in Kim So Hyun’s drama “Bring It On, Ghost,” as an older student at her character’s university.

 

Additionally, the two actors both appeared in the 2013 drama “IRIS 2,” though they did not share any scenes together.

In “Radio Romance,” Yoon Doojoon will play the role of an A-list celebrity who, despite being unable to talk without a script, ends up becoming a radio DJ. The drama will tell the story of his struggles at his new job in live radio, where nothing ever goes according to plan.

The role offered to Kim So Hyun is that of a driven, energetic radio script writer who specializes in handling the many minor crises that occur each day at the station.

“Radio Romance” is scheduled to air in January 2018. If Kim So Hyun accepts the offer, it will be her first role as a legal adult.

Kim So Hyun will be making her first drama comeback in six months!

After reporting that she was considering the role in KBS’s upcoming drama “Radio Romance” opposite male lead Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon, her appearance has now been confirmed.

Directed by Kim Shin Il, written by Jeon Yu Ri, and expected to air in early January, the drama tells the story of a top actor named Ji Su Ho who can’t do anything without a script, and Song Geu Rim, a radio writer who casts him as a DJ despite her inability to write (and therefore get promoted), as they navigate a script-free, live-broadcast radio show together.

Kim So Hyun will play the role of Song Geu Rim, while Yoon Doojoon is playing Ji Su Ho. Her last project in 2017 was the MBC historical drama “Ruler: Master of the Mask” opposite Yoo Seung Ho(apart from a brief cameo in “While You Were Sleeping“).

A statement from the production staff of “Radio Romance” stated, “Kim So Hyun has been confirmed to be playing Song Geu Rim. As a female lead, it’s a very dependable casting. We expect her to 100 percent synchronize with a warmhearted radio writer who puts her all in everything she does. ‘Radio Romance’ aims to showcase the feeling of an analogue romance. It will become a warmhearted drama like a radio show that highlights the stories of everyday life.”

“Radio Romance” will begin airing following the end of the recently premiered “Jugglers.”
