“The Master Key” is a mystery-themed show where participants play various games in order to discover who holds “the master key”.

 

I think the perm cast are comedians/hosts Lee Soo Geun, Jun Hyun Moo, Kim Jong Min and also Henry. Read that Wanna One's Ong Sung Woo and Kang Daniel will be perm from ep 4 after appearing in ep 1. Ep 1 also got Baekhyun (EXO), Jinyoung (B1A4), Eunwoo (Astro) etc.

 

Think Ep 2 will see Hongki (FT Island), Eunhyuk (Super Junior), Shownu (Monsta X) etc.

 

* Ok, the visual of the guests is high based on ep 1. And some if not all are very active and quite funny. Hope they can continue to invite interesting guests.

 

The show is like a mix of playing games btw 2 teams (well, this part is familiar for several shows) ....and some detective variety show. But i feel from ep 1, the latter element is abit low. The 2 persons who held the Master Keys should have some special ability...maybe they can secretly veto someone's choice in the end...whom they suspect already know their identity. Well, it's still early at ep 1....maybe will improve later.  

 

The part where one guest with the most no of votes from viewers...he will get one hint/ability to find the master key....well, the most popular idol usually will get this. In Ep 1 Baekhyun got it. Abit predictable and unneeded.

Anyway the games aren't new or original....but i like to see the interactions btw different groups of idols...also actors/actresses. While some are quiet/reserved...most do have some chemistry and also to play hard.

 

According to info and trailer....next sat ep 4 will see return of Wanna One's Ong Seong-woo and Kang Daniel, 

new guests : Key(SHINee), Song Min-ho(Winner),  Chanyeol (EXO), JR (NU'EST), Jinyoung (GOT7), Lee Sun-bin and Sana (Twice).

 

And I think some game rules might be changed.

Yes, it ended on 6 Jan at ep 13. It's not like cut off....but they mentioned it was pre-planned to have 10+ episodes for one season. No mention if there'll be another one in the future or not.

But think the viewership isn't high.....guess the novelty wore off, the game format got abit stale...and they didn't manage to invite as many guests as earlier episodes. Some complain too few female guests compared to males.

Well, it's still good for some parts....happy to see some of the idols from different groups interact.
