oppaisjustmystyle
Hi everyone, I'm planning on going to Korea for a month in April of 2018. Does anyone have any tips or must see/eat places to go? I'm still trying to figure out if I want to stay in a hotel or hostel. Does anyone know if there are any guides that would be able to take me around for a few days to help translate?

If/When I'm going, I want to make use of that too. My Korean is pretty bad (I think I speak alien better at this point) so someone who can show me around and translate stuff would be neat. If you find someone, please post here as well
Princessofpersia
as for finding someone, I think you can join some communities in FB, like korea expats or something like this. and the first must visit place in Seoul would be Myong dong of course, the most popular shopping area

*.:AnGeL*BAbII:.*
Shinhwa's 20th anniversary concert might be around then... HAHAHAHAHAH jokes I think Google has this option where you scan an image/ writing (e.g. menus) and it'll translate it for you. Enjoy your trip! Guest Beret
A Hostel would be a better place for you to sat which ranges from 62-21 per day. Also you can stay in less cheaper hotel, according to your finances. Plus, traveling to SK by your self not knowing or having someone to go with? It can be very hard, Koreans are not very friendly. Check out the Seoul City Tour Bus, or any other tour buses if you are by yourself you may find a partner to travel with. The foods are fabulous, no need to tel you but that is the best advice I can give you. Check out America Expats Living in South Korea (that is if you are American) Enjoy your trip it wil be fun. urd
I'll be there in April 2018 as well. If you need advice or have questions, let me know. My vacation house is near Myung Dong and Namdaemun, so I'm very familiar with those areas.

LeeGood
Wanted to create a similar thread: never been to Korea but I always wanted to. I currently live in Ukraine and I am very attracted to Korean pop culture; moreover, your country is very advanced and interesting from the touristic point of view, I checked hundreds of travel blogs and forums about Korea already. miaka fy
Oh they already have a tread for that So I will go soon in Korea in few month for at less under 3 week and will stay in hotel. I will be in Seoul and Busan. I know Korea doesn't have google map and I was sad about that. In Japan, I use google map and my japanese is good than my korean. I have a lot question so if you are there in Korea or did go travel in Korea before, please I request some information. I will be in Incheon airport and I need to get my reserve wifi egg. It's easy to find the place? Do we have a autobus to bring us to our hotel? How much it's cost? Where should I get the card like the pasmo in Japan? Do people speak english? I hope they are not shy like people in Japan...they was so lovely . Busan: Any recommendation? I want to go to the fish market I prefer to eat the real Korean food and a lot street food. Any palace or something historical place? Seoul: Any recommendation? Street food place ? Oh a filming place I want to go. Any place dangerous that we should not go? How much it's cost the taxi trip? My friend told me wasn't expensive ...still just want to know more.... btw from Busan to Seoul...Do they have a train and how long it's take? How much it's cost and do we need to paid before like the JR pass in Japan? I have many questions and I hope someone can help me thank
singlebilingual
Quote I know Korea doesn't have google map and I was sad about that. Google map shows the entire world. The map will automatically show Korea when you're in Korea. If you want to look at it from where you are now, then just zoom out and move the map. Or you can use this. It shows all of the restaurants and hotels in Korea: https://map.naver.com/ (You need to type in Korean letters for this one). Quote Do we have an autobus to bring us to our hotel? How much it's cost? The large hotels have free shuttle buses. You can take the other buses on front of the airport at the first level. Most are 15 thousand won (less than 15 U.S. dollars or 1368 yen) for a single ride. It takes almost an hour to get from the international airport to Seoul: https://www.seoul-airport.com/bus.php Or you can take the train: https://www.seoul-airport.com/arex.php Quote Busan: Any recommendation? I want to go to the fish market I prefer to eat the real Korean food and a lot street food. I suggest... It's on a hill and has a very good view of the sea and Haeundae Beach. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby this hotel: https://www.google.co.kr/maps/@35.1586714,129.1723153,17.48z?hl=ko Quote Seoul: Any recommendation? Street food place ? singlebilingual
I also suggest some locations near Incheon International Airport... Even the Korean ghettos are safe. Quote How much it's cost the taxi trip? My friend told me wasn't expensive ...still just want to know more.... It's much cheaper than the taxis in Japan and America. Quote btw from Busan to Seoul...Do they have a train and how long it's take? How much it's cost and do we need to paid before like the JR pass in Japan? KTX is Korea's version of high speed trains. You can take it from Busan to Seoul. You can buy the ticket at the station or via online. You'd have to order early if you'll ride during a holiday: http://www.letskorail.com/ebizbf/EbizbfForeign_pr16100.do;jsessionid=5jjMjY16bJrtd2FvK3x0KxjH7J1oDSvrdUgpuUALE8OO2WatUzmaaone1zLt1tPB?gubun=
