Thanks @Cedric Ong you are great, appreciate the decree update, but the Chinese seems too deep for understanding :)

I want to share a long post. I have to apologies in advance but somehow this drama just interest me to research more.

Well just wanted to share this youtube post, not sure if it has been shared before. It is about QL 3 empress. The last part is on how QL actually raise Ling Fei from a humble servant all the way to Imperial Noble Consort. Note here is that, she is not only a servant but of Han blood. So the position she was elevated is really amazing.   After watching this clip, somehow I can relate the word Ling other than being smart also means understanding, which from the drama, YL despite all her mischievous deeds and antics, do understand QL.  Also in this clip, it was noted even when Ling Fei was promoted as Ling Ping - QL actually made her the highest rank of all the Ping Fei despite her lowly position.

I actually watch another video earlier but I could not find it any longer, that clip, the historians actually mentioned that QL will bring Consort Ling for all his excursion. But there was one time when Consort Ling was sick, her name did not appear in the excursion list. But surprisingly, at the end of the trip her name pop out. Apparently, after she recovered QL actually ask for her to be escorted to join him. It shows that QL did not like to be separated with her for a long period. Also in that clip, it actually mentioned that when Step Empress was strip off her title, while on the way back from the trip QL already send words back to the palace to renovate the queen's chamber which was next to his room for  Consort Ling. How I wish all this details could have been put into the drama as well....(anyway if anyone do find this video in you tube could you please share as I was trying to rewatch)

Thanks and my apologies on the rambling.

I hope you can find it and share here the video historians talk about her followed QL to most of his excursions and the order about Empress’s chamber for Ling.

p.s check your browser history;-)

@ChloeR I do think he will bedded her for real not just merely testing. He's really wanted her so badly... you can tell by his face.

When did QL said YL only know how to make him mad? Which ep?

______________

@Cedric Ong thank for clarified that point. I thought he told in his decree he will write for her thus make me feel all the poems he wrote probably to fulfill his words.

___________

"when Step Empress was strip off her title, while on the way back from the trip QL already send words back to the palace to renovate the queen's chamber which was next to his room for Consort Ling"

Seems like out of many theories about the fall of Step Empress probably the one make sense the most is about to appointed Ling Consort to be an Imperial Noble Consort. How he cannot wait any longer to renovate the chamber for Ling.

Was it a dried up flower? LOL this whole time I thought it was meat that Xiao Quan Zi stole from the kitchen and brought it to Yingluo (considering how she has been starved by Yuan Chun Wang).

In episode 64, she confessed to Qianlong that she only knew she's with a baby when she got locked up in Yanxi Palace. So, I presumed that she probably knew then that she's pregnant (which I think is the major reason why she didnt even have to think twice about Chenbi's proposal for elopement with Fuheng).

There was a scene that didnt make the final cut which confirms Yingluo's knowledge of her pregnancy. It should be in ep 62 when she was locked up in Yanxi Palace, Yuan Chun Wang came to harass her. While Yingluo was resting on the bed, he grabbed her hair and dragged her to the ground. While he did this, Yingluo used both of her hand to protect her stomach from hitting the floor. Thus, her actions show that she knew of her pregnancy and wanted to protect her baby from possible miscarriage.

I think the only issue I had with this whole thing is the way Yingluo portrayed her pregnancy symptoms similar to tuberculosis lol I literally thought she had coughing illness up until ep 64

@ChloeR Thanks... your take on the meat in the handkerchief is more plausible then in this context. I thought it looked more like the dried up flower, cos the previous episode had CB intercepting the dried flower pouch. And in this episode, CB came by to visit/taunt/tempt the bedridden WYL and told her about the flower pouch that she had intercepted and asked WYL if she knew who sent that to QL. So I thought it was still the flower.

So I thought that some scenes were edited in these last 10 episodes, and perhaps there were these missing links that kinda make things about murky.

I read that edited out scene you put up on Pg 28, regarding the dinner scene that QL had controlled WYL's dinner menu cos she was pregnant, and how she was upset and later the next day, got Xiao Quan Zi to go to QL and exchange that bowl of lamb/sheep stew for the Suzhou meat. I would have loved to have that scene still intact in the show.

One thing that bothered me was when did WYL really realise she does love Qianlong. Given her smarts, it should not be too long for her to read QL and play her mind games and be able to draw out his real feelings for her. But given her intense and strong character, she really can compartmentalise her various emotions and so focused a person to prioritise her goals/tasks.

For me, I thought episode 53 when QL came by playing the zither and woke up her up from her sleep to tell her that he was upset she didn't come to him and explain herself. That to him, he felt he didn't matter to her. Whereas for QL, she mattered so much to him that he kept thinking of her and still came to her even though he was upset with her. I thought her expression was priceless.. for once, she didn't know how to reply/retort him.

@harooxxx I believe it was in ep 43 or 44. It was when Yingluo gave the painting that was gifted by Qianlong to Empress Dowager. He angrily went to her palace and dragged her inside the bedroom. He didnt specifically say that Yingluo only knows how to make him mad, but he scolded/complained that while his other consorts even the empress listen to him, only Yingluo disobeys him/gives him a hard time.

@housetangaryen Qianlong and Yingluo are both extremely intelligent characters in this drama. They always see through people's schemes. Yet, its rather entertaining to watch how BOTH of them being completely oblivious to their own feelings toward one another LOL Literally everyone (Empress Fuca, Empress Dowager, Hailancha, Fuheng, Mingyu, YuanChunwang, Liyu, Desheng, Chenbi, etc). in the entire forbidden city could see their attraction/love for one another, but only they dont see it

Yes @lyserose what you mentioned about the 4 records I have also watched it in some youtube.

In fact most of the historians acknowledge that Consort Ling was the most pampered concubine in QL harem. Well those videos mainly says that QL most loved women is Fuca, but after Fuca's death his most pampered is Consort Ling. They use the word "Chung kwan ho kong". I dont really know how to translate that, but basically most pampered in the harem. I do wonder why they dont consider QL love Consort Ling but only pamper, but base on those videos I do think that similar to the drama QL may not have mentioned his love for Consort Ling but his actions seems to have reflect his affections.

Thanks @harooxxx I will search my youtube history, hope to find it and share....

I thought I heard at the end of the clip he mentioned "chung ai liang ke nie ren.." and he mentioned Xiaoxian and Xiaoyi empress. From what I interpreted, these two are his ultimate faves.

Yes, in a way it's weird that Consort Ling was always referred using the term favourite but not love. Guess, historians don't believe there can be second love and because QL didn't write her any poem. Haha. If Consort Ling really was similar to YL in Yanxi, I can understand why QL could hardly write her a poem  Plus, she also said she doesn't like his poems and his poems are not good. Lol. *Just joking*

@Cedric Ong Thanks for taking time to explain to us all. You are our ultimate encyclopedia. Anyway, as mentioned by @heychumi, so among the "fei" and the "pin" , there are ranks too? I only know that fei and pin are limited to 4 and 6 respectively at a time. So, among the 4 fei(s), there was also a rank?

Hi @lyserose I am not sure about the ranking, but in the video, it says that during that time QL only had 3 pin and he made Consort Ling the highest rank. So if I guess amongst all the ranking there are further differentiation. And yes "high five" I was also thinking that perhaps QL did not write any poem to Consort Ling was because she did not appreciate his poems, hahaha...Yes, you got the part of "chung ai liang ke nie ren.." but sometimes Chinese is so complicated, is love 2 women or pamper 2 women?? But one thing is for sure is that he showed his affections for 2 women and hurt one women till the end of his life.

Okay I found 1 video which is close to the one I was watching earlier but still not the one I was looking for. This clip is a little boring, but for those who can understand Chinese it clearly mention how QL places Consort Ling by his side at all times (even when she could not fulfill his more basic needs...ahem) it also mention on the part where he prepared the room for Consort Ling after her remove SE. But I still cannot find the clip which  I watch earlier .... sorry....

Happy watching....

@heychumi well in my personal opinion probably the historians wants to acknowledged Fuca as the only one loved by QL. Mostly because he wrote poems for her. Like how they described Fuca is QL's true love solely because of that. (but sometimes I wonder what if there is no poems for her, how the historians wants to described QL loves for her because from what have been shared mostly based on....poems).

That is why they cannot described QL's favoured for others esp his most favorite concubine, Ling Consort as a love eventhough through his history record with Ling and the death decree, I can tell somehow he loved her although not as much as his love for Fuca.

So like how the historians make the world acknowledged Step Empress as the most hated QL's Empress they also can do that by making Fuca the most loved.

_______________

Thanks for the video.

Anyway why she cannot fulfill his basic need? Because she was sick? And he always kept her close?...did he personally took care of her when she sick?

@harooxxx it's cause Consort Ling is pregnant so she cannot serve QL, but despite that, QL will bring her along wherever he goes, so she is never left aside by QL. I guess if the history is accurate or the video is right, QL does dote on Consort Ling very much as they seem inseparable .

  He he my ep 19 on ytube got subbed... I love the way our YL thinks... If she gives once, he should give twice ...i  totally agree with that type of reasoning LOL

for sure. That's one things I love about Yanxi. YL is so spunky and modern in her outlook and behavious. Wonder whether she was really like that (and that was the reason why QL loved her so much in real life)?

In eps 19, when YL was applying the aloe vera on QL, she said how much Fuca loved QL, why did QL get so angry? (was it really he didnt want a servant maid to interfere into his affairs?)

That and she was criticizing him. Not only should she not do that, she's not allowed to do that either.

Where can we find all the cut scenes? I've also seen others sharing about cut scenes with Chen bi etc.

@sharonfu18 I'm gonna give it a try. Some bits that caught my attention are

1. VIDEO: Whenever WYL and QL met/interacted, reaction from both, especially QL, would be especially "explosive" in the sense that QL was really biased against WYL and interpreted her actions as cunning/vile and insisted she was a bad person to hang around Empress Fuca. Empress Fuca, being the clever and sensitive person, she always had to look out for WYL and be the peacemaker between QL and WYL.

My opinion: I think the QL's initial reaction towards such a daring maid like WYL was purely out of irritation and disgust that someone like her could be so clever esp to get out of a mess. But I think as the days went by, that intense dislike became something else, that he couldn't figure out until much later with Fu Heng at the swordfight scene. The amt of "hate" QL had towards WYL initially stemmed from an immense pouring of love that he couldn't grapple and understand... a very new feeling  as Fu Heng said later on during his convo with Qing Lian.

2. Video: When Empress Fuca asked WYL if she wanted to serve QL, WYL refused vehemently. At that time, WYL wasn't interested in QL, and also she already had fallen in love with Fu Heng and he was already in her heart.

3. According to the video, this subtle part in the show that so-called highlighted her change of heart towards QL was at the 1:40min mark onwards which says

Fu Heng had told her that he had to leave her (to marry that Er Qing) but that this decision he made would still allow him to see her whenever he could, and that would make him very contented. 'Cos of this, WYL didn't hate Fu Heng totally and kept her first love deep in her heart.

Shortly after, Empress Fuca passed away and left instructions for QL to set WYL free, i.e. to leave Forbidden City. He had a chance to execute WYL during that major disagreement on dressing Empress Fuca in all her finery for her funeral wake, to befit his standards of what the Empress should be exhibiting even in her death. WYL told him off and outright refused to, and he wanted to kill her then, but retracted that order when he read Empress Fuca's last instructions to protect WYL and to set her free.

But instead of following that instruction, QL banished WYL to Yuan Ming Yuan to tend to Empress Fuca's memorial. According to the video, he also followed what WYL said, i.e. let Empress Fuca be dressed simply as would be her wish to be free from all these status symbols that came with her job.

And like Fu Heng, QL didn't let WYL be away from him too far, since Yuan Ming Yuan wasn't. And when he announced that she would go to Yuan Ming Yuan, his eyes were filled with sorrow and commentator in the video said he didn't bear to have her go, and that WYL knew that action and emotions (which was similar to what Fu Heng had during his talk with her earlier), which meant that QL, like Fu Heng, didn't want her to be too far away from him, that he could still see her if he wanted to whenever he could.

My opinion is, this video is probably stretching things abit. I think his sorrows was that he was really sad his Empress Fuca had died, afterall he does love Empress Fuca totally even when surrounded by so many concubines. I think the fact that his son had died just the night before, and then his wife followed in the worst possible way had crushed him since his "real family" was gone in just that 2 days. So I don't believe that he would have also thought about his "love" for WYL at that time. More like he wanted to vent his anguish by having an excuse to execute WYL for disobedience and insubordination during that quarrel, but then after reading Empress Fuca's final words to let WYL go, he was in a dilemma as to whether to follow through or not.

He could still have ignored Empress Fuca's words then and still execute WYL, but he didn't cos of his respect and love for Empress Fuca, also to give her face. So he compromised instead. I don't think it's cos he wanted WYL nearby so that he could visit her whenever he could... think the pain of losing his family would have superseded any other "feelings" he possibly had on WYL at that point in time.

Hope that helps.

I read the translated cut scenes from a Vietnamese fan on wattpad. She translated the leaked script to Vietnamese.

Quick question(s), when Qianlong goes on his annual Mulan hunting and voyage around China, the concubines that get to tag along are all picked by him or by the empress? or is according to their ranks? How does that work?

Cause if it was picked by Qianlong himself, then he mustve have doted on Consort Ling a lot for her to go on most of the voyages.

@housetangaryen I agree with you! The video seems to be bit of a stretch lol. Although, I agree how our usually calm Qianlong is always exploding with anger, jealousy, sadness, annoyance, and anxiety when it comes to Yingluo
