rocher22
In one scene DM and EC were sitting in DM's room talking about their origins. DM - '' I took revenge on everyone who humiliated me, why didnt you do the same'' EC - '' Its not your fault Im a better man''. DM just smiled. I liked it. 1

Ignatius
I have loved and watched a lot of korean drama but honestly nothing beats Mr.Sunshine for me. The storyline was very well written (maybe the plot in later episodes were a bit rushed and could have been developed more), filming, and acting all top notch. I loved how it did not have many cliche Korean Drama tropes like the women falling over and the man catching him. It really showed the complicated Korean history/culture that is overlooked by people who watch Korean drama for the modern cringe romantic scenes. The storyline really showed that Joseon was far from perfect but ultimately that colonialism is never ok and should never be excused. 1

rocher22
DM died while fighting those ronin. Thats what he wanted. My heart sank because of the way HS died. EC died honorably as a brave officer. But, the writer cant convince me thats how it was supposed to be. 1

rubie
There's a new souvenir for Mr.Sunshine released which is the Snow Globe. This limited item (likely for Christmas) looks really nice highlighting the Glory Hotel and Hansung Tram which also features Eugene, Ae Shin and Hina. I think it's really unique and cool. Wished that it's easily available. Photos: Sunshine Studio via AlatusDeus

rubie
Don't tell him what happened, he's still watching it. Source: February 12, 2020 USFK commander 'strongly' recommends Korean epic drama 'Mr. Sunshine' SEOUL, Feb. 12 (Yonhap) -- U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) Commander Gen. Robert Abrams recommended that American service members watch a South Korean TV drama series about a Korean man becoming a U.S. officer and being embroiled in the national resistance movement against Japanese colonialists. The 2018 series, "Mr. Sunshine," which starred big-name actor Lee Byung-hun and aired on tvN, recorded the fourth-highest ratings for cable TV and won the top prize at the inaugural Asian Content Awards of the Busan International Film Festival last year. "Fair warning. If you are coming to Korea you are legally required to watch Mr Sunshine before you arrive. It's on NetFlix. That is all," Maj. Gen. Patrick Donahoe, deputy commanding general of the Eighth Army, tweeted Sunday. Retweeting the post the following day, Abrams said: "Not quite legally required. More like 'strongly encouraged.' You will be glad you did." Known for its delicate mixture of dramatized history and tantalizing romance, the period drama centers on a Korean boy born into slavery in the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) who escaped to the U.S and became a Marine Corps officer. During the 1871 Shinmiyangyo (U.S. expedition to Korea), he returned to his homeland and was involved in the national movements against attempts by Japanese imperialists to colonize the peninsula. rubie
A happy time throwback.. behind-the-scene Clip: 토마토 @tomattooooo Remember DoMi? February 18, 2020 "Mr. Sunshine" Ko Woo-rim to Become Lee Bo-young's Son in "When My Love Blooms" Source: TV Report via HanCinema.net Ko Woo-rim, the child actor from "Mr. Sunshine" is starring in "When My Love Blooms" as Lee Bo-young's son. Namoo Actors announced that Ko Woo-rim will be playing a role in "When My Love Blooms" on the 18th. Ko Woo-rim plays Lee Yeong-min, Yoon Ji-soo's (Lee Bo-young) son. He's a brilliant mind who never misses being number 1 at school, and has a sweet and kind character as well. He loves his mother dearly and is mature enough to never throw a tantrum even once. Ko Woo-rim has always been the young version of main characters, starting with young Kim Woo-bin in "Friends 2", young Nam Joo-hyuk in "Who Are You - School 2015" and young Kim Myung-soo in "Angel's Last Mission: Love". He also starred as the character of Do-mi in the tvN drama "Mr. Sunshine". "When My Love Blooms" is a reminiscence of those in their 40s who went through the 1990s. It is a melodramatic story about a woman in her 40s coming face to face with her first love. The drama comes out in April.
