Plot (translated from below) : Chen (Dawn) is a serious top student in school, both in studies and sports.....he thought everything will be smooth-going....until he meet Wan (Night) a carefree student. At 1st, dislike...later he developed feelings for Wan but Chen's dad who is a gang leader found out....

They were in 2003 where they face opposition from their family, friends, classmates and their own self doubts. Will they love bravely?

Red Balloon = Red being the 1st colour in the rainbow....and Balloon being free....the 1st one to be free?

Can guess from trailer Liang Zhe played the older Chen (the short haired sporty guy) while Kunda played the older Wan (cheerful camera guy)...they probably split up yrs ago...and met up again during a photoshoot. Chen is probably married too. Felt like a sad or tragic storyline.

I like this series so far. There's also a subplot about a kid from the same school who is bullied by his classmates.

he isn't credited as acting in anything before Red Balloon, if MyDramaList is to be trusted

 

episode 6 was interesting, but if there are only two more episodes left, I wonder how they'll fit anything in the remaining 20 minutes

I was drawn to this series because it has nice end credit song, but since I'm not watching any drama right now so I decided to wacth this series and I quite like it so far, though I prepared for sad ending if not tragic. The casts were OK, I just dont understand why the different actors to play older since they not much different from the high school actors.

And I enjoy the songs used in this series, they're nice, I'll be very much grateful if someone would listed here

Ep 7 is out. Guess the most dramatic or sad parts are here. Probably the next ep (read will be the last) will continue or loop back to their adult selves...cross finger for a HE or least something hopeful.

For those who didnt watch...Edward Chen acted as Xia Zi Chen...the guy with shorter hair, model student. Well..the actor mentioned he is str8 in the clip...appear half way in the clip.

But i find this trivia commented by the clip uploader interesting so share it here.

"I have to say something for Chen Edward. In another interview, he said he did this role because of his sister 'cuz her sister is a lesbian. Her sister couldn't be accepted by their parent in the past. She's been through a lot and he also feels painful seeing his sister like that. That is, he wants to show her sister how much he loves him so he wanna dedicate this series to her. Besides, he's been supporting marriage equality movement in Taiwan. Sometimes you can't just judge a person from a simple clip."

Jason / Li Xiang Wan is such a cheerful and "pure" character, I can't help to fall in love with him

But I've been seeing that this series is not as popular as the others...
I wonder why....

i think because it's made by an LGBT association the show is way more realistic and has less fangirling moments

The title is Fujin Street - Stories of the Street. Fujin St is in Taipei, it's a busy street with small shops, cafes etc.

The few chinese articles on this drama didn't mention much on the plot.

I use google translate on its wiki...Bernard Sen Jun is a singer from Malaysia...the description said he's secretly in love with one female char.

Xu Tao plays a minor char who's friend of Bernard's char. Most of the chars are involved in managing a restaurant....probably in Fujin St.

Btw the director Adiamond Lee is the same one as Obsessed of HiStory series.
