In AvenueX's video it mentioned that Chinese women change their hairstyle when they get married, and in some interview Bai Yu said it was because he met his good bro Shen Wei. So I think it was a secret reference to a new phase in their relationship. It happened after Zhao Yun Lan confirmed that Shen Wei was black cloak and Shen Wei started working in the SID. So in the between the lines story I guess it was once they started a relationship.

 

Episode 37 is out with subs. I have to say for me the actor of Guo C....ng doesn't work. His expressions whenever he is given more stuff to do on the show don't make sense. He can do 1 kindly face, 1 scared face and 1 disturbed face, and already that is repetitive, but whenever he needs to display more complex emotions it makes me doubt if he even has human feeling inside of him. Like the episode where he was supposed to manipulate Chu, but his face was like he was watching porn or something. I don't know, in my opinion he often has weird expressions. With the other actors acting, especially the leads, I could sort of guess what was going on even by watching raw, but he remains mysterious. Kind of makes me dislike the character as well, since he is so repetitive. Am I just weird? He as far as I know also went to central academy of drama, which is supposed to be good.

Yeah Guo is 1 character i dislike very much, expressions is overly done ( its horrible) and also very repetitive.  Sighhhh.. why choose that actor ..=(

Hello first i wanna say i've been reading this thread from first page to the last. Watch Guardian makes me fallin love with Zhu Yi Long and Bai Yu. Their chemistry is not a joke. So, i hope they will success in future.

I already checked  youku there is No sign of Guardian left.Not even a single video or poster.

I just hope it doesn't affect Actor as Drama already ended but sadly chinese viewers Not able to watch guardian now

At least I've seen BY's work. Memory Lost was a really crazy/ illogical show (come on, offices at police headquarters will clear desks and no files?!), but BY/YR had a cute chemistry between them.

 

Unfortunately, I can't say there is an exact good one out there. I can honestly say that in each of his characters, Zhu Yi Long did an amazing job in characterizing and portraying his characters but some of the plots are *sigh* especially since you even noticed that the police headquarters are empty in a police oriented drama lol However, I am still glad I watched most of them because Zhu Yi Long really knows have to turn himself into his characters and I really enjoy watching him act   I am going to put the links/dramas in spoiler since it is not related to this thread...

He is the main lead here and I think this is one of his more memorable roles. Please be warn of the tragic nature of his character as the whole purpose of his existence is based on revenge. I never felt so bad for a lead character before...*sigh*

He is the main antagonist here but his character is more well rounded because it shows how he slowly turned from a repressed gentleman into the main villain of the story.

Plot wise I won't recommend this to anyone...but this is one of his most adorable and sweetest role to date because his whole character is like a love sick puppy emphasized on the word puppy... I can just watch him without any plot here lol

 

 

@dzareth Feel free to try any of those out. Plotwise I can only sigh but Zhu Yi Long's performance itself won't disappoint lol There are tons of MVs on youtube based on his characters and you can check those out to get a feel of his characters too

@BreezeC I wonder if Yu Qing Bing is Zhu Yi Long's best buddy or something. They've played together at least in 5 works that I know of (The Savage (the one with the monkey), Love of three lifetimes, Xin Xiao Shi Yi Lang, Border Town Prodigal, As flowers fade blablabla. And I feel like I'm maybe forgetting something. Edit: Also Family Banquet, so 6 common works. He also played 3 times with Yang Rong (I know of 2, but read there are 3), and one of the female love interests in Border Town Prodigal is the same as in As Flowers blabla. 

Is it normal to have so much recurrence? Maybe I'm too used to kdramas. But it seems like he makes friends with a small group of people and then keeps doing stuff with them, probably recommending each other to producers/directors? Hopefully he and Bai Yu will also reunite in something.

 

 

I think with kpop stars it's also the chinese sasaengs who are the most intense? I don't really follow kpop, so not sure. Just have heard some creepy stories. Like breaking into dorms and taking pictures when they're changing clothes. Barging into bathrooms. Etc. But I think kpop companies are also not strict enough with them. So I hope his agency will take a really hard line and stop it before it goes totally insane. They have reacted with a statement quite fast, so that's nice. I think both Bai Yu and Zhu Yi Long, especially ZYL, don't really have a fan-feeding personality. So hopefully this intense obsession period will be short.

 

Speaking of creepy fans. I found a behind the scenes kiss video with Yang Rong & Zhu Yi Long:

 

They're like 7-year olds who were asked to hold hands at the end of the video. Cute. I admit I'm a creep for looking at this.

There's also ones with Yang Rong and Bai Yu, but they're extremely open mouthed so look for them at your own risk. 

 

 

That post about Guardian take-down said they're doing edits. So maybe it's some sort of censorship thing again. It was massively popular so maybe it will come back. If they really want to get rid of the feeling of BL they're going to have to cut out all of ZYL and SW scenes together though.

I think full time actors generally are more private than singers since their works are project based. Each shooting can last several months, afterwards is post production and later they return for promotion. During the post production, some may start filming new projects or go for a break.

 

Actors are also less appeasing towards their fan demands as actors that are serious about their craft may want to try roles that their fans are not too excited about. 

 

Singers especially idols (and their management) rely on fans to stay in the limelight (be on music show, promote songs etc). 

 

In both cases, fan support is still highly appreciated. But if things turn ugly/dangerous, like any normal person, artist may one to protect themselves (and their loved ones) first. 

 

I saw a short video about ZYL's fan meeting where he gave them some gifts. Maybe that is his official fanclub? If so, then he is not too aloof hehe...

@dzareth Yes. But even with singers I think they should keep some boundaries. To be honest for me the Korean/Chinese celebrity culture where fans feel like the celebrities owe them something super disturbing. Why is some random stranger responsible for my hobbies? If I like horse-riding does the horse need to thank me for liking it? And dictating when and how and who they can date, absolutely ridiculous. It really feels like the power in fan-culture has been given to all the immature, delusional and unpleasant instincts, instead of expecting people to behave like adults and control their behavior. What horrible parents these people would probably become, controlling everything about their kid's life. If you spend a lot of money or time or effort being a fan, you probably do it because you want to. But these people put the burden on the celebrities and demand their whole life in return. Crazy.

It gave unpleasant  feeling to  me, watching 4 security guards protect him from fans touching.  I guess those fans are being too invasive of his privacy  too (how did they get his arrival time etc)

 

How I wish that the fans will be more understanding and showed more respect to our idol, they are mostly young girls though

Zhu Yi Long and Yu Qing Bing are from the same company so most of their works are together and if you notice some of the smaller roles actors/actresses who also keep repeating in their works which I assume is also from the same company. (The funniest is the actress that played as his girlfriend in Family Banquet, then as his mother-in-law in Xin Xiao Shi Yi Lang and finally his mother in Border Town Prodigal lol) As for the other female leads I think they probably have the same producers/directors and recommend each others. I noticed Zhu Yi Long mentioned that the production teams are one of the things he considered in choosing his works. It is nice that he gets to work with familiar people and production crews but I hope he ventures out a bit more now. Personally, I don't think it is a coincidence that he starred in that movie with Zhao Yi Ling and Zhang Han and then later he gets to star in different drama with them as co-stars. To me that is a good indication that whenever he gets to work with others, he gets more opportunities. He is the type of actor who probably don't socialize a lot but whenever he works with others, I think others see potential and his work ethics and most likely prefer working with him again. 

 

This is a video of Zhu Yi Long and Yu Qing Bing watching their drama together. I believe they are pretty good friends in real life as they seems comfortable together.

I think you may be talking about this one. It was Zhu Yi Long's birthday celebration with his fans and I don't think he is aloof, I think he is just uncomfortable with unfamiliar people and stranger. I actually love the hosts of this show especially the girl because she did her research and she interacted with Zhu Yi Long before so she knows how to make him talk and carry on whenever he stopped. Not like other host that keep trying to make him do stuff that he is uncomfortable with... Near the end, both the girl host and Zhu Yi Long kind of teared up. This is a fan recorded version but I saw the official version and I can see he was about to cry because he was touched.

Wah..... That's very serious how come touch hand?? "That's harassment". Despite that Long Ge still worry about the safety of everyone he is kind and loving. This type of people shouldn't be treated in this manner.

So I just notice that when they went to film this song they both were wearing their Goro necklace. Look at the pictures posted above and their necklaces. I'm not trying to read into this but I heard Goro necklaces are hard to obtain because it's all handcrafted and only a limited stocks are sold. I managed to get my grubby fingers on the OST and my oh my the dedicated album sounds many times better than the one on youtube. I'm googling Chen Xueran (We Won't Be Falling) but there isn't a lot of info on him. The impression that I get that he is more of a composer/ orchestra conductor? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

 

For Time Flight, who is/are the original singers? Bai Yu/ Zhu Yilong or Li Qi? I really love whoever did the (re)arrangements of the theme songs because it sounds wonderful to the ears (eg: the BGM of the last scene when SW told ZYL they will meet again).

 

I'm also trying to find a commercial version of When Dixing Meets Haixing (?) because it is fun and happy song
