Gah, I have a horrible confession to make. I am a highly critical person but my love for cheesy dramas is just crazy. I am also meticulous about small details and I will just stab unlikeable characters by the slightest bit. If the storyline and acting is even a bit flawed, I will jump on yo richard simmons armed with human rights, womans rights, etc. That's how I felt about Nodame Cantabile. I didn't like Nodame for being a flaky little thing that keeps running back to that rascal Chiaki, who is insensitive. HOWEVER THEY LOOK GREAT TOGETHER AND I LOVE THIS DRAMA AND I WANT MOAR LOVEY DOVEY SCENES AND I WISH THEM TO HAVE A BABY AND GET MARRIED AND THE WORKS. By the way that insensitive thing Chiaki is really melancholic and good-looking and stuffs, I love it. The music is really nice and not horrible at all, quite pleasant. Garnered interest of classical music from me. Rating 7/10. Highly recommended.

However, side note, I just felt like expressing this. Nodame is very cute but her cute expressions are overdone. When she is naturally smiling it's simply the best. Stop pouting with that little mouth, Ueno

OMG I love this anime/drama gosh! I'm not done yet with the drama, but it's sooooo funny xD

Chiaki is very handsome ahah... I learned the actor was actually a singer too! So, I suppose he's REALLY playing the piano that good in the drama?? wow!!!

I'm starting the 3rd anime season at the same time eheh... but I need to wait for the subtitles so I'm a bit behind T___T

oh well, this anime is really my fav now! I love music, and seriously, it made me like classical music all over again!! I love the Rachmaninov's Concerto no.2, I can't get tired of it!

I heard there was a movie coming out? I'll have to wait for subtitles again *sigh*

lurve this series and manga nodame cantabile is addicting and ueno juri sure knows how to act one of the things that also made me love this more is the chemistry between ueno and tamaki...it's palpable through out the series that they had that instant rapor with each other..I wishe the movie will be shown in

^ Thats a hard question to answer, jaefan. Both of them are really great. I think it depends on whether you like live action or anime. Although if you watch the anime you'll probably get to the actual ending of the story faster since the last season is currently airing. For the live action, after the specials you'll have to wait like most of us until the movie dvd's are released and subbed which may be for a long while yet since the second movie has yet to hit the theaters. As for me I liked the drama the best. I hope that helped.

the drama is finished with 2 special edition wherein they were in Europe it hadn't end technically because the 2 movies that are supposed to be out will conclude the whole story....based on the trailers I am seeing the 2nd movie had the last episodes of the manga and the now aired Japanese animation

LOL Yeah, it's a great drama, but great dramas have flaws too.

If the series was a drama and more realistic, instead of a comedy, I would totally hate Chiaki, especially for treating Nodame like a punching bag. Ueno Juri's pouting, though, was because she's was just imitating Nodame in the anime and the manga. lol Chiaki really hated that pout, so they had to do it too in the live action.

^haha, i totally agree with you in that i would feel differently about the series if they took the comedy bits away, especially in the beginning parts! Sure, Chiaki treats Nodame like a punching bag, but in exchange, Nodame gets to stalk him (takes pics and clothing items of his) and treat him like a maid (cooking, laundry, cleaning).

I also really like how there was a more realistic direction later on in the series. I absolutely love the drama and this series is one of the few where i like both the manga and the live-action. I dont normally watch anime, so i only saw a couple of episodes and wasnt really interested in it though, maybe when i have more time.

Synopsis
