A welterweight WBC Asian champion in his heyday, Jo-ha (LEE Byung-hun) is down on his luck and has nowhere to go. He makes ends meet by sparring for other boxers and by distributing flyers on the streets. One day, he accidentally reunites with his mother In-sook (YOUN Yuh-jung) for the first time in 17 years and moves in with her. There, he meets his unexpected half-brother Jin-tae (PARK Jung-min), whom he didn’t know existed.

Although he has level 2 autism, Jin-tae cooks ramen incredibly well, plays video games like no other, and is a savant when it comes to playing the piano. Jo-ha isn’t too fond of his new brother, who always responds to his questions with a simple ‘yup’. But in order to put together some money to move abroad, he has to help out around the house and get to know him...

Two unlikely brothers must unite to find the right tunes for brotherhood!

Lunar New Year Holidays: A Time for Movies with the Family!
Box Office Hits of the Last 5 Years

 by HWANG Hee-yun / KoBiz

Spoiler

The Korean New Year’s holidays are meant to bring multiple generations of families together. Nevertheless, what can they do with three days of free time? After holding ancestral rites and giving New Year’s greetings, it has become common for families or friends to go out to see movies. Of course this means the movie industry focuses on the Lunar New Year holidays. One of the best strategies for box office success is releasing a movie several weeks before and promoting naturally through word-of-mouth until the holidays. So, the best time to premiere movies is in late January because the Lunar New Year holidays usually fall in late January or early February. However, the biggest box office hits of the last five Lunar New Years generally have been released in December of the previous year and continued to attract audiences up through the holidays. Ode to My Father (2014) and The Attorney (2013) are typical cases. Ode to My Father, which ranks third all-time at the Korean box office, was released on December 17, 2014 and held third place until the next New Year’s holidays, bringing in 14,257,115 moviegoers. Currently ranking 12th all-time at the Korean box office, The Attorney drew audiences totaling 11,374,610 from its release on December 18, 2013 through the Lunar New Year holidays.

This year, things are not much different. Fantasy blockbuster Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017) continues its extended run of strong box office performances thanks in part to the highly anticipated superhero movie Psychokinesis not doing as well as expected. Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds attracted 14,398,300 moviegoers through this year’s Lunar New Year holidays, while family drama Keys to the Heart, Disney’s Coco and latecomer Black Panther had a fierce competition for the second and third places. As a result, Coco took the second spot.

Found these clips at IG, hope it's ok to share.. scene(s) from the movie..

As stated ~

The Omma herself has some moves, no wonder her sons are talented as well.  Well.. big brother can (break)dance while younger brother is an exceptionally piano prodigy, obviously. Got to give major props to Park Jung Min for being an acting genius.

"Little Forest" The Healing Movie That Viewers Love

Source: Sports Donga via HanCinema.net

The movie "Little Forest" reached its break-even point a week after its release.

"Little Forest" is being called the greatest healing movie of 2018 and by the second week, it was best ticket selling movie. On the 7th of March the movie accumulated up to 825,027 viewers and managed to break through the break-even point of 800,000.

The movie was a fast seller since before its release. "Little Forest" depicts the wonderful four seasons of the Republic of Korea and delivers a healing message to its viewers.

The results are even more meaningful as "Little Forest" competed against major Hollywood blockbusters and fellow Korean movies. Other than "Keys to the Heart" starring Lee Byung-hun, Youn Yuh-jung and Park Jung-min, "Little Forest" is the only other movie that broke even early this year. The 1.5 billion won movie was released in low peak season, but word of mouth spread the news of the excellent film and it ended up maintaining a steady record. Unlike violent and stimulating movies these days, "Little Forest" has none of that; instead, it brings peace to the viewers.

Meanwhile, "Little Forest" is about a woman named Hye-won (Kim Tae-ri) who is tired of tests, love and employment, returning home to spend four seasons with her friends Jae-ja (Ryu Jun-yeol) and Eun-sook (Jin Gi-joo).

“Keys to the Heart” (2018) Movie Review – 그것만이-내-세상 (click on link to read full review by Nicholas Ho)

...

...

Verdict: Heartwarming charm
But if you can overlook these niggling issues, “Keys to the Heart” is definitely an enjoyable one. It is heartwarming, charming, and has the ability to move you to tears. Even if you are a cynical person like me, for you not to feel your gut wrench at points at all must mean you are quite cold-hearted. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable movie that I had a lot more fun watching than I thought.
