Director Oh Choong-hwan praised Lee Jong-suk.

The premiere of the drama "While You Were Sleeping - 2017" was recently held in Seoul.

Oh Choong-hwan said, "Lee Jong-suk understands his role well and does his best. He has a good attitude as an actor".

"I initially thought he was just a pretty actor, but he's a professional and analyzes everything. He's been going around mumbling his lines two weeks ahead of the real scene. He is very intricate and has very few NG (no good/bad takes)".

"He also has a lot of charm".

Pre-produced drama "While You Were Sleeping - 2017" can be seen every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 PM KST.

Urgh. This show has had it's downs with logic and facts but this episode topped all. From the beginning to the end the story was just ridiculous.

To start:

How easy can it be to push open the doors of an elevator shaft when the elevator is not there? Should this be something easily done by one man? Also, easily done by a drunk person falling against it? Then at least the owner of that building should be prosecuted for insufficient safety and hold partly responsible for the young man's death.

Then:

Before the "diagnosis" of falling down (through closed and barred doors no less) drunk can be made, it's super easy to determine the blood-alcohol-level of the patient. If he had only, say, 0,5 promille, how probable is it that a young man falls drunk (against, across barred doors) to his death?

Also:

Having been strangled until he lost consciousness, the probability of there being marks on his throat is high. Mostly when ppl try to strangle others (with their hands no less), they do not think about pressing down on the carotids but try to press on the trachea, which means it takes much longer and needs greater force (artery vs cartillary) to make the victim unconsious. The marks should appear shortly after the assault and should definitely have been there when the young man was found, making the suspicion that he just fell in a drunken state nill.

And:

Obviously after causing such a ruckus publicly by accusing the professor of abuse of his position, then dying shortly afterwards in the building where it all happened, shouldn't the professor be the main suspect anyway? Like logically?

And:

Where I live there are some laws ppl abide, prosecutors, policemen, doctors, should be no exception to the law. When the cause of death of a person is not clear, the corpse goes to the police automatically as soon as the person dies. NO EXCEPTIONS. Until the cause of death is cleared. There can be no talk about organ transplantation in such a situation at all.

Also:

There is a list on which ppl waiting for a transplant are listed, they are ranked by length of waiting and urgency. A person who dies in a hospital does not automatically become the donor for everybody else in the hospital in need of transplantation. To even think about the implications such a procedure would have: ppl who are on death's brink will be killed for others who are in need of a transplant, for example by doctors who are emotionally involved in their patients' fate. There had been a huge scandal in Germany a few years ago because patients were moved up the transplantation list by their doctors, and that's not even half as horrifying as the idea of the procedures in this drama.

And last but not least:

People are people. Because they are brain dead or terminally ill, they do not become a bunch of organs to be given out as gifts. They retain their rights, no less when regarding investigation of possible murder attempts. The idea alone of a person being reduced to objects needed by others is revolting and unbelievable. No one has the rights to another person's organs no matter how bad he needs it. This show is one step away from making murder for organs acceptable. Sure, the mother of that child decided to act sensibly, but this being depicted as grand and unexpectedly altruistic is beyond scary and wrong.

Yes one person can open an elevator.  Most people intuitively think of plunging to your death when an elevator cable “snaps” as the most likely fatality in a; elevator but in a adequately mai trained elevator there are clamps that engage when the elevator accelerates to make that impossible for the most part.

the actual danger from elevators is accessing the shaft and falling to your death.  Even in home elevators people don’t get hurt from falling elevators it’s getting stuck, falling or smashed inside the shaft.  thats why they have those grills.

it is not easy to open an elevator door but ppl die from time to time that way.  In 2015 a Chinese man died in exactly the same scenario as in this drama... got drunk, kicked and damaged the door then pried it open then fell to his death.  The writer might have possibly been thinking of that exact case writing this scene.  Note however that they would have pried the door laterally not punched it inward as shown in the flashback.

blood alcohol tests are not reliable after death, depending on varied circumstances.  It CAN be reliable if the body is kept at the right temperature but otherwise it’s easy to get a false positive if the body is warmed by external source such as Sun or heating device and fermentation occurs.

the strangulation marks on the neck are clearly what instigate the autopsy as shown in the dreams, since in the firs5biteration of the dream the prosecutor without foreknowledge orders the autopsy based on that

so your niggardly but superficially possible nitpicks are specious but incorrect.

That hat is a minor point, most people see things that “bother” them watching TV, whether they know what they are talking about or not.  You are right that there is an issue with the ep and that isn’t abou5 Korean procedural for donors but the sort of existential question about whether it’s right to prosecute a criminal to obtain justice for society or to save lives... the show set up that question then takes a cheap way put where the guy can get both with a Pollyanna outcome.

You were my reality before you became my dream

Whether through snow, flowers, or the rain.  Whether because of our past, our present, or our dreams.  Whether it's our struggles, fears of the unknown or our pain.  All I know is what is real,  loving you, protecting you, being near you.  What I felt for you then and feel for you now has always been the same...usafarmgirl

Maybe I am dreaming too:heart:usafarmgirl

Have finally watched it subbed and my opinion of last night's episode remains the same - I thought it was a nice way to bring us back into the world of criminals, the prosecution that tries to put them away, and the lawyers who want to free them for egoistic gains.

What am I looking forward to in the remaining episodes?

1. Yubeom getting more frustrated with Jaechan because, guess what? He's no longer that younger "ignoramus" you can pull a fast one over. It's time to get even, Yubeom.

2. The race to definitively change Hongjoo's negative fate - Yubeom is the thorn that needs to be yanked out of Hongjoo's flesh, and as we have seen so far, the one sure person who can make that change is Jaechan. He's Hongjoo's antidote to Yubeom.

3. Eommoni seeing that Jaechan is not the person who will make Hongjoo crumble again, but quite the opposite - he's the one who will finally bring healing to her difficult past because she could never see beyond the fatalistic ends of all those dreams.

4. And Wootak's big reveal! What is he hiding?

JC with boss discussing in the office.

PA is sending message to the other PAs.

JC is in a park with dishevelled hair; slapped himself before answering HJ's phone call.

Then she came beside him.

He scared her a bit and they fell, hugging one another.

HJ regained her composure.

They are now seating on a bench and JC was styling his hair from the reflection of HJ's glasses.

He was walking away and forgot to take his coat and files.

He then planted a kiss on her cheek and thanked her.

Female senior prosecutor was in the hospital when the male senior prosecutor told her about JC's decision.

Think her son is finally getting that transplant.

The injured student is in the operation theatre.

The father is now with JC and Mr Choi outside the OT; JC is assuring him that it would be ok.

In the midst of the surgery, the student passed away but the kidney was successfully transplanted.

The father is crying hysterically when the nurse pulled the cover over his dead son .

HJ is taking a picture of the beach at the bus stop.

WT stopped over to give her a ride.

They were talking in the car when HJ asked him if there was anything that he wanted to share with her.

"Nothing."

YB is now interrogating the writer.

The scenario was that he pushed the student down the elevator shaft.

Yoo bum is now talking to the professor...

regarding the charges...

if he is charged with murder...there is a chance of being acquitted... But if he charges with manslaughter...it'll be easier...

but jc is feeling overconfident from Hj telling him he will win and charges him with murder

WT dropped HJ off at her office.

JC and the rest are having a discussion in the office.

Back to YB and the writer.

JC is preparing to press charges against the accused; walking with his files.

Presenting his case to the judge; showing evidences.

YB is now presenting his stance.

The father is silently shedding tears in the court room.

YB brought up about the small child eye witness.

He gave an evil smile.

In HJ's house, JC WT HJ are having conversation ,SW and HJ mom are preparing the table while watching the trio.

There's also part where JC talks to HJ mom and she treated JC little differently, JC seems bit sad/or find it strange.

HJ  noticed this. HJ talks to mom

HJ, JC and WT are conversing while plucking bean sprouts.

Eomoni and SW are in the kitchen.

WT was doing aegyo in a cute voice, that got both Eomoni and SW laughing.

They were heading out when HJ went to her mom's room to retrieve something.

She opened the drawers when she found the ring box.

She asked her mom why was it there.

Mom kept quiet.

JC, WT and SW are outside the house.

SW was teasing his hyung till he got pinched.

JC went back to the house and overheard Eomoni's and HJ's convo.

She is worried for HJ.

HJ is assuring her mom that things will be fine. And not to worry. To trust her.

She has tears in her eyes.

Then JC purposely walked back and ensured that they could hear the door closed.

She took the ring box and left her mom's room.

They are now standing outside the bus stop; she is looking at the beach poster. Saying that it is really pretty.

She asked him why is he looking at her.

She then made an aegyo by speaking in a cute voice but JC did not react.
