Actress Shin HyeSun will appear in SBS drama "Legend of the Blue Sea"

Shin HyeSun's agency YNK Entertainment revealed to StarNews on August 1st AM that Shin HyeSun will star in "Legend of the Blue Sea".

Shin HyeSun will play the role of KAIST research laboratory scientist Cha SheeAh.

"Legend of the Blue Sea" is a fantasy romance drama that borrowed motifs from a mermaid story found in a book called 'Eaou Yadam', a collection of folk tales. According to the folk tale, Kim Dam-ryung, a magistrate in Hyupgok, released a mermaid caught by a fisherman back to the sea.

Shin HyeSun, currently active in a story full of heart-fluttering romance with actor SungHoon on KBS 2TV weekend drama "Five Children", is now drawing attention with regard to what new different charms she will display in her meeting with Jeon Ji-hyeon and Lee Min-ho.

"Legend of the Blue Sea" is slated to begin in November on SBS after Wed/Thu drama "Incarnation of Envy".

Actress Shin Hye-sun will join ‘Blue Sea’

Actress Shin Hye-sun will take part in an upcoming SBS drama tentatively titled “Legend of the Blue Sea,” according to a source affiliated with the show on Monday.

“We cast Shin due to her fresh image and talent as an actress,” said the source and continued, “We believe that she has great potential.”

The upcoming drama, which will air in November, is a fantasy romance based on a legend from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). According to the tale, there was a fisherman who caught a number of mermaids, only to later release them back into the sea. 

Shin will play a researcher at Kaist, one of Korea’s top science and technology universities, in the drama. 

Her co-stars will include actress Jun Ji-hyun and actor Lee Min-ho.

I read a post that her next series (legend of the sea), she will be playing Lee Min Ho's hoobae and her character will be a smart, animal-loving researcher. 

Im just wondering if she'll be the other girl who secretly has a crush on her sunbae and he goes ahead and falls in love with a mermaid.
