I have hopes, but won't be disappointed if kissing doesn't happen. That's the formula for all of these shows - preview goodies but never really deliver. Ah well.

I think it was on some live chat with Singto and Kris that it was asked if they really kissed while filming the scenes or if it was some acting trick and Singto said they REALLY kissed! So I'm dreaming, and my imagination is going places just knowing that it will be 2 kissing scenes and that it is no fake kiss! 

If I remember correctly, Kris and Singto even talk about brushing teeth before the scenes and being able to taste what they ate before... so casual like...

On a serious note tho, that was amazing how they found out about it. And these small details by the production team, very commendable.

 

I don't realize it  and now you mention it, I wonder how many times they watch each eps to find it out? Or they found it from the first time watching those eps? That's really cool  I watched each eps at least 3 times but never aware of it

Only after searching for that wonderful person whose subbing SOTUS for international fans did I find out...

So basically I created an account to thank @delightful for the amazing fast subs she's making, cause well, you deserve the thank you and even hugs for this!!! and a thank you as well to anyone whose helping you!!!

(And I enjoy the mini reactions that comes with it lol)

your fancy.

I came across the thread rather by accident about a week ago. It has taken me that long to read just over three hundred pages in a massive catch up.

I sense that as a male I might be in the minority here (don't care) and I'll risk a forced trip to go shopping with somebody by saying I can probably address all of you as Nong

A wee bit about me. Anglophone, living in France. About a year ago You Tube in one of its wiser suggestions offered up Love Sick. I found myself hooked. Some of the antics were somewhat juvenile but it was funny and there are moments of profound maturity and insight given to the two leads when it comes to dealing with relationships. I hunted about and found the English translation which I 
enjoyed.

Fast wind forward. Sotus came up as a new suggestion and I followed the same pattern Started watching and then went looking for a translation of the book. Ta-da ! Here I am. (I could have been watching Eastenders instead !)

What stunned me in reading the thread was that the heroine of 'our' story hadn't created it and appears one magical moment quite a lot of pages down the line with a simple "I could sub that". I am still here thanks to @delightful and her insights, hard work and abounding enthusiasm. I had to park tissues under the screen so as to catch all her nosebleeds and some of the squeals were 
high pitched enough to upset my neighbour's dog I will not be the last to say this, but if it is the only thing I say here it will have been worth it : profound gratitude to @delightful and her background team for bringing this series to life for us poor foreigners.

For my two penneth of thinking. Watching the first episode I completely identified myself with Wad. You can be taught to SHOW respect but ultimately that respect has to be earned. I would have walked out. Arthit is trying to be a training sergeant but without the system built authority that comes with the services. In that respect Kongpob was wrong to openly challenge him - he would have been eaten alive in the military.

Having said that he would take Arthit for his wife (and yes folks he uses the word) as an act of defiance, Kongpob has a change of heart as he realises that Arthit isn't an alpha male bully but somebody trying to weld a team of disparate beings together.

At no stage does Kongpob seem to be uncomfortable with the fact that he is chasing a man. I felt that the whole "I am a man and you are a man" scene was for viewers where cultural differences suggest that the notion is somehow wrong (and yet make series after series showing it !).

As for the chaste Arthit (in both senses of the pronunciation) what really struck me was that he didn't beat the pulp out of Kongpob. The first few interchanges could have been considered defiance but by the Flag Capture Kongpob is being open and upfront. Few men would risk saying "I'll wipe your tears away" to another man in that tone and manner unless they were certain that the sentiment would be accepted. In theory Arthit should have not only reacted aggressively but would almost certainly have told his friends to be 
careful not to pick anything up in front of Kongpob !

Au contraire, not only have his friends noted that Arthit has gained a shadow with puppy eyes, Prem is comfortable enough to send Kongpob up to Arthit with his pink milk. Look at their faces. Kongpob knows who the order is for and Prem can see that he knows. If Arthit had been hinting that he was uncomfortable with Kongpob's declarations Prem would have dashed off and delivered it himself.

I think that Arthit knows full well what being given Kongpob's gear means. The explanation is for us viewers just in case WE have missed the point and to be sure we are up to speed it is repeated on the coach. He just plays dumb because he doesn't want to hear the answer.

Arthit actively sought out Kongpob's company on the beach and afterwards decides to stay next to him on the coach as opposed to going to the back to join his friends. Even if he was a bit slow on the uptake he has just been reminded by the girls that the guy alongside has entrusted him with his heart.

I don't think that you can consider the teddy bear buying moment a date as such. (By the way I don't remember seeing a single comment on whether or not Arthit had chosen the correct teddy for a girl). That was the result of a bet that Arthit had lost. He was obliged to be there. Afterwards, however, Arthit chooses to remain with Kongpob and even takes him to lunch. When he suggests 
that he can head on home if he wants whilst Arthit goes to get his ears lowered (That's Ulster for having a haircut) to my mind that is him testing to see if Kongpob wants to stay with him. Note his smile when Kongpob says he'll hang on.

Arthit has by now reached the point of no return. He has never had a girlfriend. OK he has cared for Namtarn but that was possibly it. When Kongpob says "I understand" does he mean : You never declared your love for her because you knew deep down that your feelings didn't stretch that far ? If you had REALLY been in love with her would you not have fought for her ? After all at this stage 
Kongpob has pretty much set out his stall (only seconds before he told Arthit to write him a love letter) and he is not being rebuffed - which is why he has such high hopes that he has found a fellow traveller and is beginning to treat him as such.

In episode one Arthit made Kongpob stand on a table and out-himself to the world. Most males will put up with a lot of things but direct humiliation of their sexuality is not one of them - Arthit would have been told in no uncertain terms just where he could take himself, and if the sun doesn't shine there does that count as immolation ? For me Kongpob goes for 'hidden in plain sight'.

It is not possible that in all this time Arthit has never noted that Kongpob lives opposite and, what kind of Senior is he if he doesn't know where, at the very least, this one particular guy lives (if for no other reason but to avoid that corridor like the plague) ? Poor old Arthit has, as he said, a quick temper and opens his mouth before engaging his brain, posing the very question that he has avoided all along the one he didn't want to hear the answer to : because that would mean outing himself ; an agonising decision wherever in the world.

Sexuality is not defined by who you like, date or sleep with. It is defined by who you fall in love with. Arthit ! Time to buy yourself a table.

The more i watch the 11th episode the more i am a mix of upset, sad and understanding. i mean i do understand P/Arthit does not wish to hear 'I love you' because he does not simply close the telephone (what upsets me enormously) but also look at his face he is scared to hear that and i felt sad for Kong a lot of tears that pushed him to think about all negative of P/Arthit in the previous episodes. Love is suffering this is sure 100% but it is also true that do not accepting to be in love is even more suffering. I am sure when almost at the end of the episode P'Arthit does not even eat and see Kong alone walking or almost stumbling he felt he had been really cruel. I agree with @delightful  i have no sympathy for what he is going to get in the next episode because you understand the suffering when you do feel it as well. Sorry a bit cruel but hanging up a telephone conversation is something i totally dislike is rude toward everybody so can you imagine toward somebody that loves you ? unforgivable unless you do understand what i have been going through .............

Its strange maybe its been all the talk on the forum but today all i could think about is the next episode and how much pain arthit will be in.  While kong is a strong character and does have a really compassionate side, Arthrit has a temper and likes to hide behind himself and I cant see him accepting or dealing with any of this easily.

Again thank you @delightful for the translations and the page references, definitely helped put it all together and for dropping the chapters in english when you finish them, they are indeed exciting to read and as long as your happy to translate will always be happy to read them......lol
