Plot

5 university students gather to exchange information on their job search activities. They encourage each other and post their thoughts & worries on Twitter, but behind that they have a lot on their minds.

Takuto Ninomiya (Takeru Satoh) observes those around him. His roommate Kotaro Kamiya (Masaki Suda) has a bright personality and communicates well with others. Mizuki Tanabe (Kasumi Arimura) is Kotaro Kamiya’s ex-girlfriend. Takuto Ninomiya has feelings for his roommate’s ex-girlfriend. Rika Kobayakawa (Fumi Nikaido) is determined to land a job. Takayoshi Miyamoto (Masaki Okada) is critical of job-seeking activities, but he later tries to get a job.

It has been published that Takeru will appear in the film ‘Nani mono’!
The novel ‘Nani mono’, which won the 148^th Naoki Literary Award, will be adapted to the screen with super-gorgeous cast!

And Takeru will play the lead!
The character Takeru plays is ‘Takuto’, who used to write scripts in a theatrical circle and is good at analyzing people.

Before they started shooting, all the cast experienced job-hunting and did careful rehearsal to act the students seeking employment more realistically.
Doing rehearsal again and again, Takeru is trying his best every day.

A youthful job-hunting entertainment film that no one has ever seen before: how will it turn out?

Sato Takeru, Arimura Kasumi, Nikaidou Fumi, Suda Masaki & Okada Masaki to star in new movie “Nanimono”

Sato Takeru will be taking the leading role in the new movie “Nanimono” (Who are you) based on the 2013 Naoki Award-winning novel by Asai Ryo which will be shown in cinemas from 15 October. At that time, Asai was the youngest male winner of the award.

The movie which is directed by Miura Daisuke, features Sato along with four other actors i.e. Arimura Kasumi, Nikaidou Fumi, Suda Masaki and Okada Masaki as five university students who gather together to exchange information via Twitter while searching for jobs prior to their graduation. However, the facade that they put up in front of others where they pretend to encourage one another crumbles gradually as the ill feelings they have for their competitors start to surface especially when someone in the group finally manages to secure a job offer ahead of the others.

Yamada Takayuki plays the senior of Sato Takeru’s character and jokingly commented that he took on the movie because of the star-studded cast so he wanted to ride on their popularity.

Kawamura Genki, the producer of the film from distributor Toho, described the film’s theme as somewhat similar to the acting industry where it’s a world where the fittest survives. As such, he thinks that this will be very interesting for viewers as they watch the actors battle it out on screen.

In preparation for the filming, the 5 actors who play university students underwent training by Toho’s HR department in mid February on how to fill in application forms and take entrance tests for 30 minutes, attend panel interviews lasting for about 30 minutes and had a 50-minute discussion with university students who are in the midst of their job searches.

Filming began from 26 February.

“Nanimono” releases movie poster and trailer

Check out the released poster and trailer for the film “Nanimono” (Somebody) gathering an ensemble cast of Takeru Sato, Kasumi Arimura, Fumi Nikaido, Masaki Suda, Masaki Okada and Takayuki Yamada.

The film is is based on the best- selling novel by Ryo Asai. It follows the lives of five college students who use social media to support each other and voice out their worries about the future. The poster resembles ID photos in resumes for job applications and also displays the characters’ twitter account names. The film will open on October 15.
