Sohee might be playing opposite Seo Kang Jun in upcoming tvN drama based on HBO series

According to an exclusive report by TV Report, Sohee might be appearing as the main female lead in tvN's new series 'Entourage'! 

Insiders reportedly stated that Sohee will be taking on the role of a popular actress who also happens to be Seo Kang Jun's character's first love. 'Entourage' is Sohee's return to the small screen after about a year, following her last project 'Heart to Heart' which also aired on tvN. 

 

'Entourage' is based on the American HBO series of the same name, and will play out as a black comedy which gives an insight into the seedy world of entertainment. Currently, Seo Kang Jun, Jo Jin Woong, Lee Dong Hwi, Lee Kwang Soo, and Park Jung Min are confirmed for a roles in the drama. 

 

Meanwhile, the drama is set to enter filming at the end of this month, and it is pushing for a simultaneous broadcast in China, Japan, and Korea.

Ahn So Hee Confirmed For Role As Seo Kang Joon’s First Love In “Entourage”

Ahn So Hee has been confirmed for new tvN drama “Entourage.”

“Ahn So Hee is currently preparing hard in order to show you a different side of herself that hasn’t been seen in her previous dramas and movies. We ask for a lot anticipation,” the actress’s management agency KeyEast Entertainment comments.

In “Entourage,” Ahn So Hee will play a female actress who is Seo Kang Joon’s character first love. Fans can look forward to a character who is haughty on the outside but warmhearted on the inside.

“Entourage” is the HBO remake of the hit U.S. drama series of the same name. So far Jo Jin Woong, Seo Kang Joon, Lee Kwang Soo, Park Jung Min, Lee Dong Hwi, and Kim Hae In have been confirmed for the drama.

The drama is entering into production in late May and aiming for a premiere by the end of this year.

‘Entourage Korea’ to feature former Wonder Girls’ member

  Wonder Girls’ member-turned-actress Ahn So-hee will act in the Korean version of U.S. TV show “Entourage,” KeyEast Entertainment said Thursday.

Temporarily named “Entourage Korea,” the upcoming show will be scripted by writers Seo Jae-won and Kwon So-ra, and produced by Jang Young-woo.

The other popular celebrities in the show include Seo Kang-joon (“Cheese in the Trap”), Park Jung-min (“Dongju: The portrait of a poet”), Lee Kwang-soo (“Collective Invention”) and Lee Dong-hui (“Reply 1998”). They will act as a group whose adventure begins after meeting an entertainment company CEO, played by “Handmaiden” actor Jo Jin-woong.

Ahn will act the first love of main character Youngbin, played by Seo Kang-joon.

Filming for the show begins at the end of this month with the production team’s hopes of airing it by the end of the year.

Ahn was once briefly rumored in October 2015, to be in a relationship with “My Love from the Star” actor Kim Soo-hyun, after joining the same agency. It proved to be false.

The 24-year-old actress began her acting career with the movie “Hellcats, I Like It Hot,” in 2007. She is currently filming for the movie “Single Rider,” alongside veteran actors Lee Byung-hun and Gong Hyo-jin.

“Entourage” Producers Plan To Balance American And Korean Elements In Remake

Cable channel tvN recently confirmed its remake of American HBO show “Entourage,” and expectations are high for how tvN will recreate the television series in a way that resonates with Korean culture and emotions.

“Entourage” is a black comedy drama about life in the entertainment industry, telling the story of the fictional A-list actor Cha Young Bin and his friends Ho Jin, Cha Joon, and Geo Buk, as well as his agent Eun Gab.

The Korean adaptation’s main cast has been finalized with big names such as Lee Kwang Soo, Seo Kang Joon, Lee Dong Hwi, Ahn So Hee, Park Jung Min, and Jo Jin Woong.

Seo Kang Joon will portray the handsome but immature A-list actor Cha Young Bin. Park Jung Min will star as Ho Jin, Young Bin’s friend who volunteers to be his manager, and Lee Kwang Soo will star as Cha Joon, an obsolete actor.

The cute and optimistic Geo Buk will be played by Lee Dong Hwi, and the funny and abrasive agent Kim Eun Gab will be portrayed by Jo Jin Woong. Ahn So Hee will play a female actress, who is Young Bin’s first love, and rookie Kim Hye In is also confirmed to join the lineup as Seo Hee, an elegant interior designer.

The original “Entourage,” which ran from 2004 to 2011, was loved for showing the cast’s daily lives in Hollywood with an unfiltered portrayal of drugs, sex, and violence, so there are concerns that taking the show into the Korean context may spoil its charm if the suggestive parts are censored. On the other hand, it may not resound with the Korean audience if some modifications aren’t made.

The show’s producers responded, “Taking the merits of the original series and making them resonate with the Korean sentiment and culture isn’t easy, but we plan to do so and show something fresh, new, and unconventional.”

“Entourage” will be completely pre-produced, with filming set to begin on June.

Highly Anticipated “Entourage Korea” Begins Filming In Gangnam

The highly anticipated drama “Entourage Korea” has started filming!

On June 1, a producer from the show spoke with news outlets and revealed that filming for the famous remake has begun.

They stated, “Seo Kang Joon, Park Jung Min, Lee Dong Hwi, Lee Kwang Soo, and other supporting actors are filming for ‘Entourage Korea’ in a club in Gangnam, Seoul.” It was further relayed that the set is enjoying cheerful energy from all the stars and staff members.

“Entourage Korea” is based on the original “Entourage” that aired on HBO from July 2004 to September 2011. CJ E&M has previously stated that they plan on balancing American and Korean elements in order to resonate with the Korean audience better.

The main cast consists of Seo Kang Joon, Lee Dong Hwi, Lee Kwang Soo, Park Jung Min, and Jo Jin Woong. Filming will continue until late July or August to make sure the drama will be pre-produced.

Following review, the drama is aiming to air in Korea and China at the same time around the end of October.

“Entourage Korea” will be air on Fridays and Saturdays on tvN at 11:30 p.m. KST.

Yoon Ji-hye joins Entourage as Jo Jin-woong’s wife

Okay, this actually isn’t a huge role, but the casting makes me excited because Yoon Ji-hye (Jackpot) and Jo Jin-woong (Signal) shared a cute side loveline in the movie Kundo: Age of the Rampant, and now they’re going to reunite as a married couple in tvN’s remake of Entourage. Jo Jin-woong plays a high-powered agent to a movie star — Ari Gold in the original HBO series, which makes Yoon Ji-hye Mrs. Ari (I know, that show was on for years but she was always called Mrs. Ari).

HBO’s Entourage is about a group of boys living it up in Hollywood when one of them makes it big as an actor, and the remake will transplant the same setup to the Korean entertainment industry. Seo Kang-joon (Cheese in the Trap) plays Vince’s counterpart, the big movie star; and Park Jung-min (You’re All Surrounded) co-stars as the Eric character, the best friend manager.

Photos of a script-reading session for tvN’s forthcoming drama series “Entourage Korea” were revealed Tuesday.

CJ E&M, owner of the general entertainment network tvN, released photos of the session held on May 28.

“Entourage” boasts a stellar cast. Star actors Seo Kang-jun, Lee Kwang-soo, Lee Dong-hwi, Park Jung-min and actresses Ahn So-hee and f(x) member Amber will appear alongside drama veterans Cho Jin-woong and Choi Myung-gil.

Seo appears as the male lead, a budding actor who rises to stardom, while Cho will play a chief executive of his management firm. Lee Kwang-soo, Lee Dong-hwi and Park will play Seo’s old friends.

“I was content with the atmosphere throughout,” Cho said after the script reading session. “The four acting friends did a great job so (I think) viewers will be drawn to it.”

Seo and Lee Kwang-soo agreed that they “found the script full of humor.”
