Man I feel bad for the demon prince. He did fall in love with her, but typical third wheel got in the way. Still loving the pace of the story. Will try to get caught up on the novel as soon as I can.

Ep16- Yehua is planning to fake his death, so that he can be with Su Su. He said that if he has to choose between being crown prince and her life, he will choose to be with her.

Ok, I'm feeling a bit more sympathetic towards Yehua after watching today's episode. He will do whatever he can to be with Su Su. 

So much love between Yehua and Su Su, it is all building up and wham! We are all going to be hit by the tidal wave when they separate, stock up on those tissue boxes!!

Just saw the trailer for Ep 19, they will find out Su Su is pregnant tomorrow. Man, the story is moving fast! Go go go!

I know right. Even though I know the outcome of that tidal wave, it's still going to hit hard when it actually happen. 

For Ye Hua sadly, he didn't realize that Su Su is not a mortal for his plan to fall for through. It was a failed plan from the start (on faking his death). Fate is definitely not meant to be on their side in this lifetime since it's just a trial for Bai Qian to reach her Goddess status.

Honestly, I actually love Mark portrayal of Ye Hua plus I do love Ye Hua in the novel so I'm quite biased with Ye Hua overall (so you can see that I try to defend him quite a lot)

I don't reckon that the Bai Qian arc will be until we reach like around ep. 30-35 but that is just my assumption only. I am assuming Su Su tragedy will be probably episode 21 or 22 and since Ye Hua jump down with her, it took him 60 years to heal (according to the novel) which we may see how much suffering he'll go through (and which is the time that Sujin is made his concubine - honestly I can't wait to see him stab her).

After Su Su arc, I think the shift is going to be more focus on Dong Hua and Feng Jiu (based on the description I got from dramafever). Not sure if it'll be Pillow Talk or if it's divert from the novel for Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. So I think Bai Qian arc will be way later possibly.

Recap of Ep 15:

This episode starts with Su Jin telling her maid that everything she has done was because she wants to marry Ye Hua. The Heaven King  comes to visit her and Su Jin tells him he does not need to worry about her, she will follow his orders and enter the palace on her own. The Heaven King tells her their relationship will be a marriage in name only so she does not need to come to his palace. Su Jin protests that it does not seem right but dismisses the matter telling her maid to hang up some red cloth to celebrate their marriage.

The Heaven King tells Su Jin that she  seems to be in at a disadvantage in regards to their marriage. Su Jin tells him that she has been thinking about using their marriage as an excuse to visit her ancestral home. She wants to speak to her uncles and get them to understand, Heaven Kings intentions towards them. The Heaven King agrees and tells her he will get Lian Song and Ye Hua's father to escort her but Su Jin disagrees and says that a more suitable escort would be the crown prince. The crown prince will be the next Heaven King, so it would seem like the Heaven Kingdom is respecting Su Jin's family. Besides, didn't Heaven King intend for Ye Hua to lead troops in the battle against the fish people? It would be advantageous for Ye Hua to meet with the captains of the troops beforehand.

In the demon realm  Yan Zhi goes to see Xuan Nu who gives her the plaque needed to get past the guards to see eldest demon prince. Yan Zhi says to Xuan Nu that she is doing this because she has no other way, for this family because she does not want to see her two brothers killing each other. After Yan Zhi leaves, Xuan Nu looks at her bed where she has placed the clothes that Si Yin used to wear. She says to herself, "Li Jing even your beloved sister is betraying you, from now on in this  palace the person closest to you will be me. I don't believe that after all this, I will still not have your heart."

Meanwhile, Li Jing is drinking by the pond where he met Si Jin, Xuan Nu dresses up as Si Yin to seduce him. This scene Is witnessed by Yan Zhi who was hiding behind a tree. The Golden Lion Beast urges her to hurry to save eldest prince.Yan Zhi asks if rescuing eldest brother will cause the demon realm to be a place where it is rarely peaceful, causing another war? The Golden Lion Beast assures her, that Li Jing has been on the throne for 70 thousand years and his rule has been stable,  if your lord father was alive even he would have trouble overthrowing him.

Feng Jiu is walking on the steps in the Heaven palace and sees Dong Hua in the distance. She approaches him and says she has something she wants to tell him. Feng Jiu says to Dong Hua, third prince has told me that in the Heaven Realm, there are often people who use the excuse of repaying a debt to get close to you, but I am not like that. Father and mother have taught me even if I take a straw from someone, I need to repay it with a piece of gold, a debt for saving my life would be like this too. My aunt has taught me being an immortal I don't need to worry about face, saying what I need to say. Third prince asked me if I have intentions towards you, I thought about it and yes I have intentions towards you, do you understand? 

Feng Jiu looks up after confessing her feelings to se the Heaven Lord and Zhi Yue standing behind Dong Hua. Dong Hua asks if she has finished speaking, then dismisses her. The Heaven King remarks that he does not know where the maid who came to repay a debt came from. Dong Hua replies that she is the little princess from the fox clan Bai Feng Jiu. The Heaven King says surprised and remarks that she really is a person they cannot offend. He asks Dong Hua how he saved Feng Jiu and Dong Hua just replies "Coincidence ." Zhi Yue remarks that she couldn't believe that Feng Jiu is a princess. The Heaven King tells Zhi Yue not to underestimate the princess,she is the only granddaughter of the fox tribe and someday she will inherit the nothern kingdom in Qing Qiu.He reprimands Zhi Yue for not knowing her place and tells her not to offend people from the Qing Qui( Feng Jiu). The Heaven King remarks to Dong  Hua " For a long time,you have not cared for affairs in the mortal realm, so it seems the little princesses affections are wasted." Dong Hua says he has heard that the Heaven King has married the great aunt of the Su Jin tribe as his concubine and remarks that the Heaven palace hasn't had anything to celebrate in a while.

Back in the mortal realm, Ye Hua wakes up to see the house burning because Su Su had somehow set it on fire. He asks Su Su what she ha do done. She tells him that she only wanted to roast a chicken for him. He says that he told her to leave it to him. Su Su tells him that it was always him who cooks for her, so she feels like it's  her duty to cook. Su Su remembers their wedding garments and tries to go back inside to retrieve them but is stopped by Ye Hua who tells her that they are gone. She protests that they are garments worn once in a lifetime. Ye Hua tells her if she likes, they can have a wedding day everyday. Su Su tells Ye Hua he is so good at saying romantic things. She says their room is burning so where are they going to stay tonight? Ye Hua asks her where she wants to live, but she's says she only wants to stay here. He covers Su Su's face and puts out the fire with his magic. She tells him he does not need to worry about her, she is not afraid of fire, she even saw a dragon appear.

When he lets go of her face, Su Su is amazed that their house has been restored back to normal asking him where the fire has gone. She then asks Ye Hua who he is and suspects he is a demon because when she met him,he was different from ordinary people. He was wounded so badly but healed so quickly. Su Su asks Ye Hua if he is the Golden Lion Beast, who harmed humans, causing the king to slit his own throat. He laughs and asks why she thinks he is a demon. As she backs away, Ye Hua asks if she's is afraid of him. Su Su tells him it doesn't matter what kind of demon he is, she had bowed to heaven and earth with him so they are now husband and wife. She says to him that if he really is the Golden Lion Beast, then he must have had a fierce battle with the black dragon she used to keep.If the black dragon knew you were injured but did not die, it will come back to find you. The dragon is very familiar with this place so we need to leave. Su Su tries to make Ye Hua run with her, but he pulls her back. He asks if he really was a demon, would she still follow/stay with him. She tells him that from now on he must not say these words, she had already vowed to love him for many lifetimes , regardless of misfortune, never parting then she does not care what he is. Ye Hua asks Su Su if she is  afraid of death? She replies that what is there to be afraid of? Su Su tells Ye Hua That her personality is like this, when is forced him to used his self to repay her, she only wanted him to stay with her, but after living together for months we have become husband and wife. So if we have become husband and wife it does not matter if you are a human or a demon I will stay with you. Even if you have to repay your .evil deeds with you life, I will repay my life with you, isn't that the worse outcome? Ye Hua asks Su Su to repeat what she had said. Su Su tells him in this world, regardless of time and place if he does not betray her,then she will never leave him. Ye Hua gives Su Su a hug for her loyalty and she tells him that they need to hurry up and run. He tells her they don't need to run because he isn't a demon, he is just a mortal cultivating the immortal arts learning a few simple spells.He asks if she is disappointed and she replies that she had thought of at least 100 ways to run away. She asks how come a Taoist priest like him can marry?

Meanwhile, the Heaven King and Dong Hua are on their way to see Ye Hua. Lian Song sees them coming and tries to think of a way to delay them. The Heaven King asks if the crown prince is in his palace and remarks that today is the day Su Yin is getting married, everyone else is at the banquet, if Ye Hua doesn't come it would not be seeming. One of the maids says that crown prince has not been well, so does not want to join in the festivities and has told the maid not to disturb him. The Heaven King tells the maid to invite him out to welcome Dong Hua. Lian Song arrives and tells the maid to wait for a bit. The Heaven King reprimands Lian Song for shouting in front of the crown prince's palace. Lian Song asks for forgiveness, saying he is afraid that Ye Hua is healing his wounds and if he is disturbed by a maid he might screw up the healing process. Dong Hua remarks that the crown prince was only in a battle with the Golden Lion Beast did he really get that badly injured. Lian Song replies that Ye Hua's wounds are not minor, yet not severe. The Heaven King says that as crown prince,that kind of minor wound does not need to be kept mentioning.

In the moral realm, Ye Hua is hunting with a bow and arrow with Su Su then disappears when he is summoned. He appears back in Heaven in time to greet Heaven King, Dong Hua and Lian Song. Su Su is still in the forest looking for him and crying..

The Heaven King asks Ye Hua that didn't he say it was just a minor wound, then why does he look so thin?.Ye Hua lies and tells the Heaven King that after he returned from the mortal realm , he discussed with Lian Song about the Demon realm and the fish people tribe so he didn't rest. The Heaven King tells him that what he did was what a Heaven King should do. Ye Hua asks why the Heaven King and Dong Hua have come to visit him. The Heaven King says it is to discuss Ye Hua's marriage with Qing Qiu (the fox tribe). Ye Hua says that day that Heaven King decreed his marriage, to comfort the fox king he did not say anything. Ye Hu asks be allowed to speak plainly, causing the Heaven King to ask if he is unhappy with this marriage.Ye Hua denies being unhappy with the marriage but tells Heaven King that when he was young his father said someday he will take over as the next Heaven King, so he cannot compare with ordinary people. When second uncle was born 36 five coloured birds flew around but when I was born 72  five coloured birds congratulated me and  in front of the four seas and eight realms I was granted my status as crown prince. Over the past few ten thousand years, I have always been careful, not daring to make any mistakes,afraid to make Heaven King and father lord disappointed. The Heaven King praises him for his diligence and Ye Hua says his ambition is to become a good ruler instead of focusing on romance, so he asks to delay the marriage to Qing Qiu by 20 thousand years.

Dong Hua agrees that what Ye Hua says has some merit and the Heaven King comments that this is the first time Ye Hua has disobeyed him. The Heaven King asks if there is a reason Ye Hua does not want to marry Bai Qian of Qing Qiu but he denies it. The Heaven King tells Ye Hua that in the past he loved Ye Hua's 2nd uncle the most, but he was most disappointed by him. He tells Ye Hua that he has spent tens of thousands of years on Ye Hua and is even more concerned about his actions, so  Ye Hua better not make any mistakes, especially when it comes to women.

The Heaven King asks Dong Hua for advice and he says that the marriage had only been decreed, then if  we immediately negotiate the marriage ceremony, we might scare off the Fox King. He might think our crown prince has some kind of disease so we are afraid Qing Qui will break the engagement.

The Heaven King asks Ye Hua about him appearing as a dragon in the mortal realm. Lian Song answers it was to defeat the Golden Lion Beast. Ye Hua said he was going to report to the Heaven King when he had more information then takes out the magical fan. Dong Hua immediately recognised it as the weapon belonging to Mo Yuan who gave it the his beloved student.

Ye Hua tells the Heaven King that he met Li Jing in the mortal realm and the fan was in his hands. The Heaven King is surprised the fan was in Li Jing's possession and remarks that since Mo Yuan's body disappeared with Si Yin, it has been 70 thousand years, how can the weapon fall  into Li Jing's hands? Ye Hua says that this matter is still a mystery and he had some difficulty in getting the fan back so he appeared as a dragon. He brought back the fan hoping to find out the reason Mo Yuan disappeared.

The Heaven King remarks that Mo Yuan was the son of the creator god, the owner of Kun Lun Mountain so he should have been buried in the Sea of Despair. He tells Ye Hua to find out the truth about this matter (Mo Yuan's disappearance) but it has been 70 thousand years so he does not need to be in a hurry. The Heaven King says that today is the day Su Jin gets the title of Heaven Consort, since Ye Hua and she grew up together, he should come to drink a toast. He tells Ye Hua giving Su Jin he title was because he needed the support of some minor fractions. Now that the Fish People have plans to rebel, the battle could take place at anytime. Ye Hua congratulates his grandfather. The Heaven King orders Ye Hua to accompany Su Jin on her journey to visit her ancestral home. He reveals it's a ploy to garner support from the leaders of the minor fractions. If he accompanied  Su Jin, it would be easier to build relationships since the leaders love this descendent of a beloved vassal. Ye Hua says that he had intended to met the leaders of the fractions and be well prepared for the battle with the Fish People. Heaven King tells Ye Hua that his 3 sons cannot compare to this grandson.

When they are alone, Lian Song remarks that lucky Ye Hua pulled out the fan, so that they could pass that obstacle (of being questioned about becoming a dragon). Ye Hua replies that pulling out the fan was just a coincidence, luckily it saved him. Lian Song says that looking at the fan, he remembers that high immortal that year. "70 thousand years ago by the Ru Shui River, I and Si Yin had a little relationship with each other, he and Mo Yuan the high god had a deep master and student relationship."

Lian Song tells Ye Hua that he wants to talk to him seriously. He remarks that his father (The Heaven King)would probably not allow him to marry a mortal, so he needs to think carefully. You and her, you staying with her can only be in another place. One day in a Heaven is equal to a year in the mortal realm. You want to  spend 2months (of Heaven time) to stay with her for a lifetime? Ye Hua says No he doesnt just want 2 months. Lian Song replies that he knew Ye Hua wouldn't want to leave her, if Ye Hua wants to stay with her in the long run, he needs to take her out of the mortal realm. But Ye Hua needs to know that the immortals in the 4 seas and 8 realms all know that you must marry Bai Qian of Qing Qui so you can't take her (Su Su) to heaven. That lesson shown by your 2nd uncle is still there. Ye Hua replied that he knows. Lian Song says that he feels very guilty that he forced Ye Hua to accept the engagement with Bai Qian in the first place,now it  seems, he has dug a hole to bury Ye Hua. Ye Hua says that sooner or later the Heaven King would have engaged him to someone, so it does not matter if it is Bai Qian of Qing Qiu or Qing Qian of Bai  Qui (a mix up of the her name and her kingdom). Since he was born, Ye Hua was already destined to be crown prince whether he is engaged or not, the Heaven King would never allow him to marry a mortal. Lian Song remarks that the snake belonging to your 2nd uncle should be considered lucky, she got to keep her life. If the Heaven King found out you are in love with a mortal, your beloved would definitely be in a living hell. Ye Hua tells Lian Song he needs to get back to the mountain but Lian Song stops him saying the Heaven Lord just ordered Ye Hua's to accompany Su Yin to her ancestral home. Everyone is getting ready, if he leaves now,Ye Hua will be found. Ye Hua protest she that Su Su does not know what is going on, my sudden disappearance  with cause her to go crazy with worry.Lian Song replies, just over that and you would be crazy with worry? In the future, what will you do when facing then Heaven Lord? Lian Song senses someone approaching so pretends to talk to him about Su Jin's marriage and how he thought she was going to marry Ye Hu, how the creator teases them all.It's revealed that Su Jin is now dressed as a Heaven Consort and trying to listen to their conversation.

Back in the mortal realm, Su Su is still looking for Ye Hua in the forest. Su Yin comes in to greet Ye Hua and Lian Song and Lian Song stops her from bowing to him since she now outranks him.

Su Yin asks if Ye Hua can move around yet?. Lian Song replies that the Heaven Lord has decreed, that if I have nothing to do, I should go walk with Ye Hua.  He tells her that the Heaven King had praised Su Jin's tribe as loyal vassals, the old and young in the whole tribe are righteous, sacrificing their lives and flesh. The royal family are naturally required to treat you well. Now you are a Heaven Consort, the two levels of relationships are now entwined. Su Jin tells Ye Hua she is allowed to stay in the palace for one night.

Meanwhile, Feng Jiu is greeted by the other other maids as little princess. They are under the impression that Feng Jiu has  come to the  palace to train with Dong Hua. The head maid apologises for her rude behaviour and tells Feng Jiu that thats what Dong Hua told everyone. Dong Hua told everyone, that Feng Jiu had come in disguise to discover the daily lives of the palace maids so she is just temporarily visiting. The maid tells Feng Jiu that Dong Hua told the maid to let Feng Jiu chose a place she wanted to stay. Feng Jiu says it's fine and does not want to move.  The maid tells Feng Jiu that she is a princess so how can she live with the other maids. Feng Jiu says she wants to live with the maids, this is what is called training. Feng Jiu goes to Dong Hua's study where he is drinking tea, she tells him she thinks that she should really try to repay him, by temporarily forgetting her status as a princess. So she hopes he will allow her to live with the other palace maids.He says that he won't stop her if she's really wants to live with the maids. Dong Hua asks if Feng Jiu really came to his palace to repay a debt? A small debt becomes a large one to repay, so how does she intend to repay a life debt?

Making tea  and pouring water for him,she would have to make tea for 100000 thousand  years and pouring water, she would need to do it for 200000 thousand years. Feng Jiu ask him if he has any unfulfilled wishes. Dong Hua replies yes and Feng Jiu assures him that she will try to help him fulfill it. Dong Hua remarks that 70 thousand years ago, Mo Yuan gave him a tea set as a gift. During this 70 thousand years, I still remember I need to repay him for this gift, can you help me fulfill this?

Feng Jiu is puzzled that Dong Hua would mention Mo Yuan. He laments that it is a shame, Mo Yuan has been living in hiding for along time, never appearing again. Feng Jiu says that in reality Mo Yuan, he..... then hesitates because she is not allowed to reveal her family's secrets and thinks Dong Hua is trying to trick her, unless he already knows Aunty is Si Yin and Mo Yuan is lying in Qing Qiu?

She tells him when Mo Yuan disappeared she had just been born, where he went she truly does not know. Feng Jiu asks him if he had any other wishes which he says yes. He wants to know her what kind of relationship her  aunty had with  Mo Yuan. Feng Jiu tells him that she had already told him that her Aunty had no relationship with Kun Lun Mountain. He pretends that he had forgotten, that she had already told him, Dong Hua tells her that she had truly told him a few times. Feng Jiu wonders why he is interested in Mo Yuan, besides Mo Yuan does Dong Hua have any other wishes. He says to a person with no desires and ambitions like him, what is called a wish he temporarily has not thought of another one. Feng Jiu tells him to take his time, she is not in a hurry. Dong Hua says he has one more issue and asks whether Feng Jiu has ever seen the magic fan weapon thing. She pretends to not know what it is, and comments that it has a strange name. She offers to wash out his cup for him. After leaving his presence, Feng Jiu wonders why he always want some to find out her Aunty's relationship with Mo Yuan. She is interrupted by Zhi Yue who makes her spill the tea and break Dong Hua's cup. Zhi Yue is annoyed that Feng Jiu wet her robes but Feng Jiu is only concerned that she broke Dong Hua's cup. Zhi Yue tells Feng Jiu that just because she is a princess, that doesn't mean she can use the excuse of repaying a debt to go in and out of the Heaven Palace causing trouble. They are interrupted by Dong Hua who pretends to have been woken up by the noise, which makes Feng Jiu hide the cup behind her back. Zhi Yue says she has heard that Dong Hua came to visit her cousin the crown prince to discuss the marriage with Qing Qui. Feng Jiu is surprised by the news that the crown prince will marry her Aunty. Feng Jiu asks if he will go to Qing Qui in the bridal procession? He says yes and asks her if she has any other questions, which Zhi Yue says she has questions, but she is dismissed for being annoying. After Zhi Yue leaves, Dong Hua remarks that Feng Jiu just broke the cup given to him by Mo Yuan. How does she intend to repay this new debt? Should they count it together with her life debt? She is surprised that it could be counted that way. After he leaves, Feng Jiu says to herself, Aunty you and your master Mo Yuan better come back soon. If you don't return I won't be able to repay this debt in three lifetimes.....

 I love how cute and innocent Su Su is when Ye Hua tested her loyalty with the whole pretending to be a demon thing. Ohh! I definitely love Ye Hua, the strong and silent type but then again these type frequently drive me up the wall! I can see that YH is totally smitten with BQ and he's well and truly in love with her. She doesn't display any of the childish antics that you see in most people. Due credit to BQ for being so reasonable and not livid with YH. I mean she has every right to be given that she's been abandoned (literally) without any warning but worse without any explanation. 

We have the luxury of seeing the whole picture but BQ doesn't and I completely understand why she chose to head back to the 'mortal' realm. She gave YH many chances to explain things to her and I can say from experience trust without any communication is very difficult and even more so to sustain a long-distance relationship.

On a side note, how impressive is Mark Chao?!! I absolutely love his portrayal of YH. Admittedly, he wasn't quite what I envisioned (looks-wise) but he has definitely delivered in all key aspect of the role. The expression, the aura, the demeanor and his overall chemistry with Yang Mi. . Now I can't imagine anyone else playing that role. He's definitely won me over!! 

I will admit that BQ is one of my all-time favourite female lead. She's kind of cool and I really like her debonair and laissez-faire attitude but most importantly, she's very kind-hearted and loyal. Also I really like YM's acting here. It was a little stiff to begin with but she's done a really good job here!!

I also like the flow of the storyline and admittedly it's a little different to the novel but they appeared to have retain in essence the core themes and relationship. They have removed some of the controversial theme, if not more interesting arc of the relationships. However it hasn't detracted the overall feel of the drama. I'm thoroughly enjoying it!!

lol - if you watch YH's expression in Episode 13 around 27:13, when BQ suggests to repay her for her kindness for saving his life is to get marry. He's initially surprised but then the realisation that his dream is about to come true with Christmas, his birthday and Chinese New Year all arriving in that one moment. Like he's received the greatest gift of all - it's so adorable!!

Due credit to BQ for being so reasonable and not livid with YH. I mean she has every right to be given that she's been abandoned (literally) without any warning but worse without any explanation. 

We have the luxury of seeing the whole picture but BQ doesn't and I completely understand why she chose to head back to the 'mortal' realm. She gave YH many chances to explain things to her and I can say from experience trust without any communication is very difficult and even more so to sustain a long-distance relationship.

On a side note, how impressive is Mark Chao?!! I absolutely love his portrayal of YH. Admittedly, he wasn't quite what I envisioned (looks-wise) but he has definitely delivered in all key aspect of the role. The expression, the aura, the demeanor and his overall chemistry with Yang Mi. . Now I can't imagine anyone else playing that role. He's definitely won me over!! 

 

 

I think we'll both be fanning our crush over Ye Hua, lol. And yes, I definitely agree that I cannot imagine anyone else as Ye Hua. Mark has total won me in his portrayal of Ye Hua. He's so good with the brooding, his expression, and his aura of a crown prince. And I just love seeing those small (secret) happy smile he gives. The time he sleep with Su Su, or when she offer him to repay with his body. His slightly smile and his expression on those just show like he's the happiest man in the world.

@Lyna I love your comments! What, you mean repay with her body - oh I see, I must have missed that translation.  No wonder he looks so happy but in a 'contained' way. Trying to look dignified but really doing a happy dance on the inside.

Make that a HUGE fan crush on Ye Hua which borderlines 'stalkerish'. He's lucky that I'm happily married so it's only a good perv with no touching or creepy emails 

He's kind of like Wallace Chung, not the most handsomest of men but he starts to grow on you because of his screen presence and that's what I love most about Mark.Before you know I look like this 

Most of all, I love a crown prince who isn't easily swayed by beauty and only loves one woman in one lifetime - a huge weakness for such men even if they drive me crazy with their communication issues (or lack of) and wanting to protect their other half by telling them nothing and expecting 200% trust - ahhh. Oh well  I guess no-one's perfect!

I know what you mean!! I hoard those secret smiles like golum does with his ring. Okay maybe that's a creepy analogy. But you know what mean!! You can tell that his status as a crown prince brings lot of responsibility and he is almost by default quite a serious man who rarely smiles. So with BQ he smiles a lot and he's very happy with her, as though he can't help himself. Just too adorable. I could almost forget that he has communication issues and he is a perfect man!

Ye Hua and Bai Qian do have a lot of skinship when they meet again and Bai Qian falls in love all over again with Ye Hua.

Without her memories, she was still fate to meet him and fall in love with him again. 

I just love him for his eternal love to one person. He loves her through and through, from one lifetime to the next. And even use the latern to find Su Su soul (I'm sure which didn't work given she wasn't dead to begin with). Mark can definitely bring the brooding and suffering out Ye Hua from his eyes to his expression.

I am pretty biased with Ye Hua (and Mark portrayal just makes me love him so much more) and pity that he suffers a lot of out his love for Bai Qian. Granted that Bai Qian suffers herself as Su Su to the point that she commit suicide (technically in her retrospect, it's not suicide since she was just wanting to return to her home). But Ye Hua jump in with her and lost almost all of his spiritual energy. So they both literally committed suicide.

Bai Qian choose to escape her pain by forgetting her memories whereas Ye Hua, regardless of how painful it was, still held onto the memories and continue to long for Su Su. Even meeting Bai Qian brings happiness but as well as sadness to him as she hold no memories of their love and her care for her master just hurt him more in misunderstanding where her heart belong. 

The novel does give it through Bai Qian perspective but even though that, you can see how much Ye Hua was willing to sacrifice for her. He's lovesick for Bai Qian and I'm just lovesick over him, lol (sorry craze fangirl speaking) hahaha

 I've been lurking around and cant help it but decide to join in this love for Mark Chao He didn't strike at first glance for me (or a lot of peopl/ novel readers were even skeptical about his casting) yet the whole time he was slowly, but surely growing on me.  His every look and those smiling to self that he does and his chemistry with Yang Mi is just something else (where is the heart eyes emoji?!). And now? I've fallen hard for him as Mo Yuan/Ye Hua, and convinced that he was the best man for the job.  While I wouldn't call this show addictive yet (it's getting there) lately I live for this ship, and I hate telling myself that these two are married to other people in real life </3   And I'm absolutely LOVING the skinship from the clips and what we've seen so far, and PLEASE tell me I ain't the only one absolutely DYING over how he subtly nuzzles her nose when they're kissing?!  Like how cute is that, how he isn't flashy in his acting yet those small things he does- ugh,I just can't.

I absolutely look forward to the scene where he takes out Su Su's eyes. Now before you call me sadistic, I KNOW it's gonna break my heart into a million pieces, but from the trailer Mark was literally BAWLING in that scene, not sobbing fake pretty drama tears ..sigh as if he isn't already impressing me with his acting so far.

@thundergirl3 thanks for the clips! I can't wait for all the skinship!!!! I just love all the moments when he is about to kiss her. It is just so sexy! It is a bit embarrassing to say this but the scene where he held her hands against the wall was what got me interested in the drama   

I had my reservations about Mark Chao as well when I first heard that he is going to take on the role of YH as I already knew that Yang Yang will be playing the same role in the movie version. But Mark Chao has convinced me that he is 100% suited to the role as well with his superb portrayal of both the serious and lovesick YH. And yes! The way he smiles (he looks so satisfied) every time he is with SS is just so telling of his feelings for her. I'm going to be so heartbroken when SS leaves him >_<

Where is BQ fan?! I love the skinship so far and it's going to get even better!! Just like @peanutbutterjellytime and @lianyi I am absolutely fangirling Mark Chao in stalker mode. I was put-off initially because he looks like a friend of mine who's happily married and I see him like a brother that I never wanted so it was kind of awkward to see my look-alike friend incarnated as Mark kissing someone who wasn't his wife but I'm cool about it now.

I know it's unnecessarily complicated but that the kind of person I am. At any given time when I see an actor who even remotely resembles my brother or a family member or even an honorary brother (and the chances are pretty high) I kind of get icky watching any romantic scenes. So I was very hesitant but this couple are sooo cute together that I had to get over it. And, let's face it I have a massive soft spot for a good kisser. 

Mark is definitely on the top of the scale I must say  

Poor Ye Hua he's terribly lovesick, frustrated that she can't remember him and chooses not to, and all he can do is remember and worse he's soooo jealous of his twin brother! He plays that so well. I really love it how Mark doesn't overdo it. Oh he's definitely brooding, intense and serious but he does it in a way that gets the message across without being creepy and cringe-worthy. Trust me I seen many of those and it's just wrong! It's any wonder the actress can keep a straight face...

  @thundergirl3  That's funny, hope that day never comes for me where I'm full on fangirl mode over a drama/celebrity crush that looks like someone I'm close with lol! Ima real sucker for actors that are good kissers - ALWAYS scores instant points in terms of attractiveness, even if I don't find them hot to begin with. Of course, in our case Mark didn't help with our growing obsessions at allll  

  It's only been about a week since airing, but tell me not alone when I say I am lowkey attached to this drama couple right now?!  They even convinced to start reading the novel online (eng trans), and even then I like the drama version of this couple so much more. Certainly don't know how I'll feel about Yang Yang as YH in the movie version, (and hate to do this right now because people doubted Mark Chao at first too, and wanted Yang Yang to replace him) just because MC is the perfect Ye Hua and I'm with y'all -  cannot imagine anyone else playing that char anymore. For one, Yang Yang def isn't a better actor

@peanutbutterjellytime Ooohh I'm definitely on the fangirling bandwagon with you. I'm not one who's easily gets fangirling. I'm probablyshowing my age here. Only three actors got me so addicted and only one drama got me banned (by my eeeevvviiilll husband) from Soompi forum for a month simply because I stayed up until 3am to watch Bai Zhi Hua live. Mind you I must have possessed by a 16 year old because it was 3 nights in a row. Thinking back now it was probably a bit excessive not to mention that I am no spring chicken (more liked seasoned chicken) that could bounce back so easily after 3 nights of drama orgy.

Anyway, back to more important things. YeHua, gosh what a man! I love it how he almost looks like he going to grab BQ and run away with her, only be so disappointed when she almost wants nothing to do with him. Even to point of not caring. It must have hurt terribly. Oh his eyes, I love how expressive they are!!

I haven't read the novel just the summary so I know what happens from all the various comments. As for the movie, I want to watch it regardless if I'm not a Yang Yang fan. I've been so pleasantly surprised with the drama perhaps I will be again with the movie version
