Lee Byung-hun and Kong Hyo-jin will play a married couple in movie "Single Rider". According to the multiple sources in film industry on January 23rd, Lee Byung-hun and Kong Hyo-jin are discussing the offers for "Single Rider" positively.

A man is pushed to the edge of his life once he loses everything at once. He now leaves to Australia to meet his wife Soo-jin and his son Jin-woo, who had left to the country for the son's education abroad. The suspense movie is anticipated to deliver the story structure of the well-written screenplay.

The role Lee Byung-hun will play is Kang Jae-hoon, a branch manager of Elite Investment Securities. Kang Jae-hoon is a character who has strong sense of responsibility and leadership as well as experiences sadness and fury.

Kong Hyo-jin's role, Soo-jin is Kang Jae-hoon's wife, and also one of those stylish moms. Kong Hyo-jin's unique acting style and method acting will be brought out through this film. While she has been presenting the exceptional chemistry with her partner actor each time, how Kong Hyo-jin will form the perfect chemistry with actor Lee Byung-hun as a married couple in the movie this time is garnering attention.

If this offer is finally signed, then Lee Byung-hun will continue with his appearances in multiple movies consecutively. Now that his current movie 'Inside Men: The Original' is out there, his next film has been decided to be "Master" co-starring Kang Dong-won and Kim Woo-bin. As soon as Lee Byung-hunfinishes filming "Master", of which shooting starts in the first half of this year, he will then join "Single Rider".

Kong Hyo-jin returns to silver screen with "Single Rider" in three years, while she had such a success with her roles in dramas, "Master"s Son', 'It's Okay, That's Love', and "Producers".

Meanwhile, "Single Rider" is a debut feature film by director Lee Zoo-young, who is a graduate from Korea National University of Arts. Warner Bros. is in charge of the investment and distribution of the movie.

Thanks so much @cutie_let_let for starting the movie thread for 'Single Rider' user posted image much appreciated! What a treat having Lee Byung Hun and Gong Hyo Jin pairing in a new movie together. *so surreal* Had always envisioned such a dream but dare not hoping it too much. Now it's truly a double treat coming true. Hope the filming will start soon but LBH has another filming (for movie 'Master') scheduled to start early 2016 if everything goes according to the production plan. The TV Report article mentions second half in 2016. Really can't wait for the movie. Looks like part of the movie would be filmed in Australia, cool!

Great fan art up there, keep on sharing!

@cutie_let_let Thanks for the news, Gongvely and Lee Byung Hun, nice pair. I've never watched any of LBH's works, so this will be my first with him if Gongvely is in here :) they look compatible, plus Gongvely tends to have chemistry with her co-stars. This sounds like a pretty good one as well.

@heidimx12 I had watched LBH in the drama, All In, and was just amazed with his character who plays the cards so well. That's my only memory of him ~ hehe

lol.....he's handsome so i'll tune in, he's not "hot" handsome, but he's manly so that's a plus for me and he has a manly voice lol they'll make a nice pair.

First saw Gong Hyo Jin in 'Snowman' and then watched a few of her dramas & movies but I especially love and enjoy 'The Greatest Love' with CSW. Cha Seung Won is a month older than Lee Byung Hun, so there's no problem with the new pairing of these talented actors. Agree that the LBH-GHJ collaboration is quite unexpected and random, rest assured that they can pull it of, better than expected and definitely won't be boring to watch. Again can't wait for the movie. Just not sure if it'll be released end of 2016 or in 2017.

Still a loooooong wait..  user posted image

I just can’t see these two together right now, but maybe the film will be a pleasant surprise? Gong Hyo-jin (The Producers) has agreed to play the wife of Lee Byung-heon in Single Rider. In the suspense drama, Lee’s a father living alone in Korea to support his family overseas, while Gong’s in Australia to raise and educate their son. When Lee’s on the verge of losing everything, he’ll travel to Oz to meet his family. The movie will be distributed by Warner Brothers. [Osen]

Lee Byung-hun is going to the Oscars

Source: INSIDE Korea JoongAng Daily

Actor Lee Byung-hun will attend the Academy Awards on Feb. 28.

BH Entertainment, the agency representing the 46-year-old actor, said on Saturday that Lee received an invitation from the academy to be a presenter and accepted the offer.

Lee is the first Korean actor to be a presenter at the Oscars. It is not known which award the actor will give out yet.

Lee began his acting career in 1991 in Korea but advanced to Hollywood in 2009 by landing a role in the film “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.”

Since then, the actor, who is fluent in English, has played supporting roles in numerous Hollywood films including “Terminator Genisys” (2015), “Red 2” (2013) and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” (2013).

Two of his Hollywood films - “Misconduct” and “The Magnificent Seven” - are slated to open in North America in February and September, respectively.

With the news of the actor presenting an award at the Oscars, BH Entertainment also confirmed Lee’s next project in Korea on Friday.

Lee will pair up with actress Kong Hyo-jin of “The Producers” (2015) in the upcoming film “Single Rider.” They play a married couple.

According to industry insiders, “Single Rider” is a thriller and it is the story of Kang Jae-hun, played by Lee.

Kang is a so-called goose father, who stays behind to work and funds overseas schooling for a child, accompanied by his mother, to study in an English-speaking country.

Kang leaves for Australia to meet his son and wife after he loses everything he has.

Shooting of “Single Rider” will begin after Lee wraps up another film, “Master.”

It is Kong’s first film in three years since her previous project “Boomerang Family” (2013).

Meanwhile, Lee’s recent film “Inside Men” attracted more than 9 million moviegoers. Local media report that Lee is having a career renaissance.

LEE Byung-hun and KONG Hyo-jin Board SINGLE RIDER
2nd Korean Production from Warner Bros.

by Pierce Conran / KoBiz

For its second venture in the Korean film industry, following KIM Jee-woon’s currently filming period action Secret Agent with SONG Kang-ho, Warner Bros. will pair stars LEE Byung-hun and KONG Hyo-jin in upcoming thriller Single Rider. The film will mark the directing debut of LEE Joo-young, a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts.

LEE will play a branch manager of an investment firm who sends his wife (played by KONG) and son to Australia for school. When he loses everything, he travels there to meet them.

Despite a rocky start, LEE ended 2015 on a high note with the massive success of Inside Men, which attracted over nine million viewers to theaters. LEE has also signed on to shoot the thriller The Master, with GANG Dong-won and KIM Woo-bin, but with Single Rider beginning in March, it is unclear when that will happen.

Star of numerous films and TV shows, including 2008’s Crush And Blush, GONG hasn’t appeared on the big screen since Boomerang Family in early 2013. Before Single Rider, she will first be seen in the recently wrapped thriller Missing Child, alongside UHM Ji-won.

Warner Bros. will finance and distribute the film in Korea. Following 20th Century Fox (Intimate Enemies, 2015; Goksung), they are the second studio to venture into local productions for the Korean market.
