JingYu peered up as WeiZhou shoved his tablet towards JingYu's face. With a small sigh, JingYu took the tablet from the man standing next to the bed and looked to see what he was talking about. The first words on the page of text to catch JingYu's eyes were Bai LouYin and Gu Hai. His eyes narrowed as he read the passage WeiZhou had highlighted. 

"The novel?"

"Yeah. You mentioned trying role play, like in the novel."

"Zhou, this," he held the tablet out to WeiZhou, shaking it slightly, "this isn't role play. This would be re-enactment."

WeiZhou pushed JingYu's legs over and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Role play, re-enactment, whatever. I want to try that."

JingYu sat up as he read again the passage of text, his brow wrinkling.

"Is this even possible, Zhou? I mean, can you even bend this way?"

WeiZhou leaned back into JingYu as he said with a smile, "I'm quite flexible you know," before nibbling at JingYu's jaw. 

Oh, WeiZhou definitely knew how to persuade him. Pulling WeiZhou into him, JingYu tugged at an ear with his teeth.

"Fine, we'll try it. On one condition."

"Mmmm?"

JingYu flipped them over until WeiZhou was pinned under him.

"I get to tie you up."

We all are addicted beyond repair, seriously incorrigible. But your addiction is a boon for this forum. Call me selfish and greedy but I never want you to get over yours, if the aftermath of all, is such beautiful fanfics. Amazing ffs auntie. Keep writing. 

In other words, not to sound very selfish (rather self contradictory) all this venting of your emotions in words is the best way to ease your addiction... ha ha..

I heard a rumor that Happy Camp and Run For Time featured both of them were not broadcasted because they became famous quickly, but in a not so common way (Shangyin is not only about homosexuality, but it contains many unacceptable values in China, for instance, teenager love affair, incest, or if you read part II the novel also promotes a lot of unrealistic details of politics. And, also webdrama becames so popular lately that it might potentially affect the mainstream entertainment industry that involves many complicated things as well).

And the reason why JY is dropped from The Amazing Race because his company has promoted him excessively, and the SARFT does not like that so they warned others that they must take extra consideration when inviting him (and of course, they would not take risks for a newcomer). Wait!? His company? Yes, I know that he repeatedly says that he has not signed up with any company, and when he will, he is going to tell us. But after I heard this, and then took extra time to reconsider the situation, I realized he may indeed sign with Huayi. Let's think why he participated in Angela Baby birthday party, Huayi conference, and the recent show with Fan Bing Bing, and the Cannes also.  It is a good news, but why does he want to hide it? Imo, I think it is just the way he and his company want to promote his image for (Gu Hai with tough, straightforward, and freedom-lover kind of image). And I do not want to bring the bad memory back, but after the fanmeeting in Thailand, the MC said the reason why the four of them could not appear together because one actor's agency (he does not reveal names, but we all know who he talked about here) wanted to change the contract, and also the content of the fanmeeting that all of them discussed and agreed upon before. The reason for the sudden change was because that actor might be negatively affected after returning to China if they appear together. My instant thought was if JY was that cautious, he might have someone to tell him to do so (because our JY will nevertheless take the risk to "cross the ocean" to see our ZZ anyway). I mean it is plausible to tell that he has a company support him because his activities are more organized and upscale than ZZ, and his management team is also more professional in handling bad news regarding to him (his infamous airport scandal for instance). Huayi is a pretty huge company, and if JY indeed sign up with them, his future will be so bright.  I hope until the end of this year, we will know the answer whether he has signed up with any company. 

BUT THIS IS JUST A RUMOR and my thought so I hope everyone will not be so serious.

Or perhaps it does… Yes, Addicted brought us all here, and to other perhaps less obvious places, such as so many new listeners to Teresa Teng's I Only Care About You on YT… but I digress.
CJD came up with an end product that is something rather very unique (I am talking about the webseries here; book would not be so successful without it by itself IMHO). A series thought for a limited national audience erupts suddenly not just in the country of origin, but it puts spell on thousands, if not millions, and resonates literally across continents. (It really warrants a serious research in the future.)

I just finished talking to my significant other. Most of I want to convey here below are his paraphrased words not mine. I totally concur anyway. 
Is the Addicted series storyline very elaborate (on surface)? Nope
Are the actors the cutest / the hunkiest on the planet? Nope (perhaps…)
Is there lotsa skin-on-skin action? Negative
And so on…
However, it still touched us deeply in many profound ways: perhaps it acted as a mirror to our past actions, missed opportunities, relationships gained, lost, or never attempted (the worst!); perhaps it awoke a ray of hope for love, that we may find a GH or BLY in the future, or perhaps we just realise a GH or BLY is close by and we need to make a move. Or something much more…
How deeply? 
My bf is both an actor and a teacher in the academia. He totally refused to watch ShangYin, even if many students and colleagues were discussing the series basically since the Addicted has been put online. Well, he has decided to have a go last Sunday. Let's say he wasn't overly excited after a few first episodes. Then, I sensed he has binge watched everything in one day…! Furthermore, he read the second part of the novel, from the point the webseries got interrupted, and then he even ventured in the Chinese language forums: mind you, everything in a three-day span. Anyway, due to personal reasons it all left him extremely shaken to the core, to the point of being very upset (disclaimer: I did not take it in a negative way). He was able to regain his composure only today.
What follows is sort of his personal "confession". Since I am not a priest (lol), I took liberty to write it down. (He was ambivalent; we agreed on "don't ask don't tell" policy were I to go ahead with it anyway). I also sincerely believe those are real facts, very touching after all, I think (his conclusion made me cry). Correct me if I am wrong. Did CJD mention that the novel is partly based on the real life stories that have happened to her friend? So, does art imitate life, is it the other way around, or everything in between?
Watching ShangYin was for my bf like reliving a few of his high school years. The uncannines of it was somewhat too much to handle. In any case, the events took place in a middling size city in a small Asian country more than twenty years ago

He was not unlike BLY in many aspects, and he literally encountered not one, but two, GH-like classmates. My bf was cute and also spoilt (middle class) child as he puts it. He did not care about other people's feeling much. Both suitors were seemingly straight jocks and had girlfriends.
Jock #1 was a popular guy, a basketball player to boot. He started getting very close to my bf. As he lived rather far away from the school, he biked. However, he would always walk my bf home, even if it was a short one, bike by the side. He would drop by my bf's house, to be fed by bf's mum often. Also his sister liked having jock #1 around the house.
My bf would be invited to watch his basketball games, even if he wasn't even remotely interested in. He would drop by from time to time anyway. Then the guy, dressed in a tanktop, would go down on his knees and ask my bf if he was okay and not too bored. There was always a gaggle of swooning girls around who were querying him all excited whether they were indeed buddies.

In another twist, the father of the avid basketball player was none too pleased that his son wasn't concentrating on studies instead. In a way of deception, the basketball player kept some of his sport gear/clothing at my bf's place. His mum would then launder it, whereas my bf would fold it, with an occasional sniff here and there (!). 
Anyway, they were hanging out together. However, whatever affection my bf would receive, he wouldn't bother to repay it at all. He would not care about the other person's feelings. Perhaps the only gest he conceded to jock #1 was to invite him to see a movie (the basketball guy never dared to propose it…). He showed up all dressed up, trembling from trepidation. The relationship went nowhere and they parted their ways. They were assigned to separate classes the following school year.
Then Jock #2: a baseball player, enters in action. He was waiting in the wings, basically. For example, he was showing his affection by dropping chocolate or milk drink under my bf's desk… There was a day they went to have a meal together. They didn't have much money at that time. The baseball player bought a very simple soup with dumplings. My bf refused to eat for some reason. The other guy insisted and tried to feed him one dumpling at the time…
There was also something more to their relationship, but he wouldn't really care about this guy either…
Some time has passed; they parted their ways…
Then, incredibly, there was GH #3 during university years. He was from a well off family. They did date. One day, he came to my bf's residence all excited. His parents bought him a brand new white car. He wanted my bf to be the first person ever to go for a ride together. The ride almost finished with a kiss…
Watching all these scenes from the Addicted brought him deep sorrow in a way that they related so much to his real life events, remained buried deep down in his mind for such a long time. He didn't dwell at that time much, during teenage years, mind you, that his indifference hurt people who were in love with him… 
To conclude: we cannot unwind our past. As much as my bf regrets his actions, it's impossible, or impractical, to trace those people back and beg for forgiveness. However, let's make them lessons learned that enable us to be better persons with those around us, especially those who care about/love us sincerely.
Addicted/ShangYin is not a BL fantasy. There is a GH or a BLY who awaits us!

Are JY and ZZ a CP to his trained eyes/professional instinct, unspoilt by any previously acquired opinions?

They seem to have had just a few straight relationships before working together. However, being in close quarters and working intensively together he senses they have developed a special, even romantic, bond that goes way beyond a simple brotherhood. He sees JY as the instigator. He didn't want to venture as far as to assess the strength of that relationship, though
