Not sure whether this will help any....but if you think about it...isn't saliva part of sexual intercourse? :dizzy:

DON'T MIND ME~~~~

hi IMO, I actually asked my specialist doctor about this since it really bothers me, and guess what she came back to me!

Spoiler

And she said that kissing and exchanging saliva would not give you hep B. Blood exchange would def give you hep B, that is why a pregnant woman will give the baby the virus, during delivery, but if the baby get hep B vaccine shot within 24 hours after delivery the baby will be fine. And even if someone have hep B and they have unprotected sex, doctor said that person with no hep B should go right away to the hospital to get the vaccine and that person would be fine. Gosh how invested I am with this series, I even asked a real doctor for all of these hypothetical questions. Now I think my doctor would ask me to get a hep B vaccine from all of these questions, since she starting to be worry about me.

Or, is she wrong in this?

Lol, I love that coy smile on BLY's face when GH accused him of seducing him! However, from the translation of the novel I read, it seems that BLY was too engrossed in the Hep B scare that he wasn't paying attention when towelling himself  hence the "accidental" flashing of Xiao Yin Zi. Lucky GH though!

As we are in "cucumber time" as @scandani pointed out, I would like to hear which scene cracks you up the most. For me, it is definitely when GH was bargaining for the "15 bucks" winter jacket at the zoo (Previously, GH asked BLY where was the cheapest place to shop clothes and BLY answered "dong wu yuan", meaning the zoo). The lady should win an award for the best extra performance! Her expression and tone was priceless and spot on!

My first question would be the hepatitis B scare of our dear smart Bai Luo Yin.

1) in the novel, the students had blood testing. it was specifically a hepatitis test (stated by the class vice prez). its true that they got the results in the same day though. i dont really have an explanation for this other than amazing fictional time frame!!

2) i'm sad to break it to you, but our dear smart bly was only in 12th grade and got his hep b info by typing "hepatitis b" into the baidu search bar lol (also stated in the novel)

Hi Shuwei, thank you for getting back to me on this! See, this is why I need to get hold of the novel with full English translation, so I won't miss the little details.

1. So, they did have blood test, but yes, amazing fictional time frame indeed, since it takes several days for the blood results to comeback, and it is really unprofessional for anyone to spread fear of 'possible' disease! Let alone an incurable one like hep B!

2. I LOL-ed so hard on this, hahaha, but, yeah I can imagine his mind must be so worry so brain does not function so well :P But really thank you for getting back to me on this :wub::wub:

I like the coy smile of BLY too, and as someone who enjoy human expressions the most, I have so many memorable time of the series. I can not give you one right now. Once I have some collection of it (every now and then I do throw my stash away like this and this. I am really not good with gifs so I am just collecting screenshots of those micro and macro expressions that made me fell in love with them. I will tag you when I have my collections of my favorite moments of Addicted ready, if you want :)

@charlie10 in avoiding posting too many posts, I will reply you here.

I think in regards, to wifey and the women's role in the relationship, we had been told by CJD that this relationship is special between the two, that both are strong character men, none are too feminine than others. and they are mentally strong as well. There is no strong distinction between the uke and the seme. And that is one of the magic of Shangyin. I did not have any ill intentions when I put wifey, or kitten and whale (knowing that they're both human and not animals), for me it is an intimate calling. And yes, I am truly enlightened that BLY in the series only agree to call GH as husband few times in the novel, and that also during their hot love making. As someone who is a wife or a partner in an equal relationship,  I am sorry to break to anyone that I do not find the word wife to be derogatory. Husband - wife is equal measure in a relationship. I do not have weaker position than my husband/partner. I do not know in which culture that the word wife means a lower/weaker position, certainly not in my world. I am quite surprise knowing that the word wife is actually means condescending in this sense.

Spoiler

Quite...amusing tbh. As an Asian who have been brought up by Asian standard, I and my partner know exactly that I am in no way weaker than him. I call him husband and I am the wife, but not in any way my position is the weaker one. I thought ligestilling aka emancipation have swept the world since many decades ago. When I called ZZ wifey, it is in regards to his role, and I do it here in our safe haven. I do not go to someone's personal socmed and started to say that out of context. I hope I make it clear on this subject.

And yes, I am still quite worry of JY, since I am afraid of his career. The second ban really hit him hard. I hope, pray, wish upon a star that he will get some jobs soon.

From the drama and the novel, the check up was just body check up. Full body check up they say, even checking up the size of their cucumber (?) What was that all about?

I've always wondered about this too! Is it just for laughs, or is it something that actually happens in Chinese schools. What is the point of a visual check of their 'package' like this? Just to compliment someone on their size or feel sorry for being small? And how do they check the girls? It's funny, but very weird. Very creepy! I wouldn't expect anything less than shamelessness from GH, though. That would have been disappointing. (Even YQ tries to take a peek...)

It's kind of nice that BLY is good at everything, but not extremely so. He can do a lot of pull-ups, but not TOO many, for instance. While GH is just extreme in everything he does, even in how he's feeling. I think GH likes BLY so much because he puts up a fight, it's so clear in those first episodes. GH tries to be dominating, but really he just wants to dote on BLY, and he doesn't know any other way to do it. (I agree so very much with everyone who said that ZZ is an equal to JY, that a relationship is not about one having to be the 'weaker' party - who is the 'woman' in the relationship. Because that goes back to a view of women, ultimately, being weaker, and the view that same-sex relationship will have to be the same as a heterosexual one. )

I hope there will be some kind of news about the boys soon, that something will happen which will move things forward. Particularly where JY is concerned, since his future is so completely unwritten at the moment. I hope he's making plans and that he'll surprise us all with them. Or else I will think he's chosen option no 2 and has decided to go into hiding. (I secretly wish JY would rebel a little, be naughty, not do what he's told. I realise there are so many reasons to not do that, but this ban, being so unfair, awakens the rebel in me.)

@Scandani - anyone can call each other whatever they want, of course! And have whatever dynamic they want. Everyone is different. But what I mean is that the traditional, old-school view of a woman, in relation to a man, is that the woman is the weaker part who the man has to take care of. And I think some people who'd otherwise would find it difficult to accept homosexuality, find it easier to transfer that traditional, male view on a heterosexual relationship onto a m/m relationship. In other fandoms, I've not experienced this. The two guys in a pairing just try to negotiate their relationship on the basis of their personalities, rather than any preconcieved notion of one having to be more dominant. So I'm not used to the seme/uke idea in fandom (or in RL) and find it a bit alien.

To write or not to write. I completely understand, and agree. You said exactly what has been on my mind, as well. Thank you. (I don't think I could have said it as well as you did.)

No matter whether we ship or don't ship, believe they're friends or more, we can all agree that there is just something about JY&ZZ, whether while filming or after, that keep us in this fandom. The fact that we're all able to come to this thread to share, inform, inspire, whatever, is testament not only of the production of Addicted, but to all of us well.

Auntie @sohocomo!!!!! Hug hug hug hug!! Thank you for your encoragement words. What the hell this feeling doing with this webseries about, I should need a real treatment here. I need to see psychiatrist for sure! Lol (I am dealing badly with the cancelation of hannibal tv series too. How the hell I always end up in canceled show, I don't know. Sometimes there is always a show that could drag me this bad to the deep hole).

Spoiler

Awww Hug hug. I agree with all the things you have said. When they stand as an individual or even photo with friends, they look like 2 normal young and handsome man, but as long as they stand next to each other, especially the way YJ looks at ZZ, I just die. Don't get me wrong, non of them look feminine or anything, they just click and look adorable together. Only if one day HC will release the full episode, we may have to wait for 3 years, maybe 8 years? Argh CJD, why 8, why did you choose 8? lol

Hi. There are different types of hepatitis. :) and their form of transmissions were different too. Ill give you the breakdown

Hepatitis A = transmission is thru fecal-oral (mostly food, street food etc)

Hepatitis B = Sexual and Parenteral (via IV injection) and also vertical (mother to neonate) So it is mostly transmitted sexually

Hepatitis C = transmission is mainly parenteral (More on patients going blood transfusion)

Hepatitis D = Sexual and Parenteral transmission this is highly seen in IV drug users.

Hepatitis E = fecal-oral transmission (more on contaminated water)

So, hepatitis B can be transmitted sexually and is mostly the transmission of the said type of Hepatitis. Hope this helps.

To put the predicament of the boys in perspective, I just read a article in my morning newspaper on the new, increasing censorship in China

  Reveal hidden contents

China has 721 million netizens, most in the world. And the government wants to control that force, wants to know what they're doing in order to prevent any uprising. So the control of the internet has become a very important issue and the view is that they need to be able to put breaks on. So, apparently they're introducing a credit system (I think this is related to what you mentioned before @teafortwo ). It's already in place in some regions (like in Shanghai). The idea is that everything you say or do online - and even offline - will be connected to your identity card. How you behave, what you buy, what you say, what you write will be recorded in a personal file. The system will give points, for your views, your character. It's all part of a way to fight the 'moral corrupcy' of the society, officially about fighting economical corruption, but in actuality is about controlling the population.

If you look at everything that's happened with the boys and Addicted, it seems to be part of this pattern. The popularity of the series and as a result, the actors, is something percieved as both immoral and uncontrollable. And if everything JY & ZZ do is recorded, supervised, controlled, then they really can't do much. And their fans can't do much either. Seems they'll have to 'earn back' some credit first, by being 'upstanding' citizens. If they even can.

It's scary stuff, IMO. The risks are seemingly bigger than just getting cut out of a show, it can affect your whole life. Your family's life, your friends' lives. Again, I just want to tell them to move away. Seems like everything they do which is fun and lovely and beautiful (together and apart) will just be kicked to the curb anyway. (But I do realise I'm speaking from my Swedish perspective. I can't pretend I know much at all about the Chinese culture.)

Who could have imagined that a little, loveable, low-budget BL web-series could cause such a stir. And that their stars could. I guess the reason lies in the same reason we're all here, obsessing about it. It has that extra something, that which can't be explained. And so much of that is in the chemistry between JY & ZZ.

It'll be interesting to see if Addicted gets some kind of second life from being on in Taiwan, or if it ends there. If there will be new people going gaga over things like this.

China has to be careful that it does not become a country driven by fear. No one dares to be creative and different in such an controlled environment. For a country to be really rich, tolerance for diversity is needed. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to think the same way while having a vibrant economy. I see a very bleak future for China if this is what they intend to do. How can they lead in technology and culture if they remain so sterile?

It's time for the upper echelon in China's government to go back and study World History again. Throughout history, countries that took an extreme isolationist stance, especially towards cultural/intellectual exchanges, fell within two or three generations. Without advancement from shared ideas, it is impossible to continue growth, especially in a country whose economy is becoming so dependent on export. From a Western viewpoint - money will always talk, but ideology can tell it what to say.

I think most governments are trying to control their populace through fear. Even in UK, lately there are concerted efforts by the govt to put "fear of immigrants" in the general population to advance their agenda. While personally I am against fear mongering, logically I can understand what they are getting at.

However, on China's case, I am totally unable to understand why China put such a heavy restriction toward Addicted and JY/ZZ without a respite. Usually, fear mongering tactics are accompanied by sugars to ensure the population choose the (govt's version of) "desired behaviour". You want to do it your own way? Ready for punishment! You don't want to be punished? Do it my way. There is none like this on the case of Addicted. Even when CJD/the boys/whoever else had obeyed sparft to the point of doing that horrible Thailand FM, JY/ZZ are still being (unofficially) banned. That's strange and imo a very wrong move from sparft.

If sparft or something really want to destroy cp-image from JY/ZZ, then they should give JY/ZZ the chance to be something else than GH/BLY. Give the fans the chance to identify JY/ZZ with something else than Addicted. Instead, sparft is constantly pressuring them, effectively turning JY/ZZ into tragic heroes in the eyes of the fans, making the fans fiercely protective of and loyal toward them. When I am talking about fans, it's not just to fanboys or fangirls buying ZZ's albums or swarming the airports but also high profile figures who are deeply in symphaty with JY and ZZ and maybe supporting them quietly.
